Sandwiches are pretty good. I ordered the Ruben and asked to add pastrami to the sandwich. Got it on rye bread. They don't toast bread very well here. I don't know if they've even got a grill. The meat was hot but tasted like it was fancy microwaved like all the gas stations do to heat up frozen foods. Not horrible but not a true deli experience either. Had the Cuban sandwich next. Asked them to toast this one well so I could get a crisp taste with the sandwich. No luck. They put way too many pickles and too much mustard on this one. Bread was good other than not being toasted. Had the cucumber and tomato salad as a side. That was good. Wondering if I could have added some cheese to this salad as an upgrade. Atmosphere, Cleanliness, quality of ingredients, and people bring this review to a four. Three if you just review the sandwich. Oh, no! I should have walked out when I saw dirty tables and dirty floors. Food was sub par. Chopped Salad was 3 day old greens already limp abd turning brown covered with huge chunks of cucumber all in a big mess. I could not eat one bite. My son's club was pretty good but he eats anything. What an amazing low cost, high quality restaurant. This is my first time at the Deane Hill McAlister's Deli. Being on a keto diet makes eating out a bit challenging, but the salads here are not your ordinary salads. I had the Pecanberry Salad: lettuce with fresh strawberries, blueberries, candied pecans and the most tender, delicious grilled chicken ever. This is a walk in, order, and they bring to your table place. You can also scan the code at the table and order and they will bring it out. First time here. It was clean and the cashier was friendly. I had the Savannah salad and the cherry lemonade & hubby had The spicy southwest chicken sandwich with a soda. And of course I got a chocolate chip cookie and a sugar cookie! The salad was flavorful, dressing was really good and on the side. The chicken sandwich was good too. The Jerry lemonade was ok. The cookies were great! They had my number and never called me. Not going to sugar coat this- this place is trash. It's nice that you can order half of any meal and combine two items to make one meal. It's nice they serve you at the table. It's not nice the chicken and lettuce was completely frozen and the French dip was undercooked and cold. The only way to get the French dip hot was to dip it in the sauce... which was also luke warm. We were severely disappointed. My wife had a dental procedure and needed a comforting bowl of potato soup. The last time we had this soup it was rich, creamy, and content filled. Not so our experience last night. Last night the soup was thin, watery, only a few bits of potato and was inedible. While we did call, complain, and the manager said they took the item off our bill, that left us with finding something she could eat considering the dental procedure she was still recovering from. We were told McA's had changed vendors for their soup. So before you order you need to make sure you will like what they call potato soup. I have my own word for it and it really is not kind. In the end we threw the potato soup out. We've been going to McA's off and on since the 90's easily in Oklahoma City, Austin, TX, and in Knoxville, TN. This is becoming one of my favorite sandwich shops. This location is in the shopping plaza across from the mall. They have a good selection of food items and deserts. The night of my visit they weren't overly busy and the had my favorite soup on the menu. Their menu options cover what most people would expect. I ordered the French Dit which is a roast beef sandwich 1 side and their delicious dipping sauce. The sandwich came out hot and fresh. I ordered the mashed potato's with gravy. Fast and convenient way to order is by website on phone. I ordered for pickup. What they got right- I ordered a vegetarian sandwich. There were good flavors and fresh, freshly made in fact. I ordered potato salad which also had good texture and tang. Order was ready in a timely manner. What was wrong- I ordered veggie chili. The chili was room temperature. I have a microwave at home but my concern would be sanitary concerns. No food should be room temp. Either cold or hot, to keep the microbes "at bay". So far we've tried the McAlister's club sandwich, the beef dip, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, soup and two different kinds of cookies, all of which we liked. So why 3 stars? While talking with the staff, we mentioned we we're from out of town and had never heard of McAlister's Deli, inquiring if it was a chain in the area (it is a franchise with several locations). We didn't order drinks as we were stocked in the car; while waiting for our food, one of the staff members came out from the kitchen with two sweet teas, stating since we were from out of town, we had to try their sweet tea and and hospitality.
