I live in the neighborhood of this location and I frequent it often. The food is okay, service mediocre at best, and long lines constantly stay long and move at a snails pace. The biggest issue I have is paying extra for the sauce and without fail, every single visit, they leave it out. I have to remind them of the sauce or if I'm busy I just go without. I could probably pay for a full family meal with the amount of money I've spent on undelivered sauce and even other missing items. I have done this same exact job at a different Zaxbys and what I experience here is a gross incompetence and unwillingness to serve. I wish there was a better quality Zaxby's in the neighborhood, but unfortunately this is what the community gets to deal with. I'll just go to mcdougals from now on instead. The drive though wait times were excessive but understandable considering COVID. What was not understandable is that they got my order wrong and attempted to repackage and return food that was not prepared consistent with my order. After returning and waiting in line a second time, I was offered no apology for the error on their part and was shocked when they attempted to simply repackage and return the incorrect items to me. I'll be honest. I've never had zaxby's until a few months ago, on the drive back from Florida. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, which to my bf it wasn't their specialty but It was amazing and he agreed. I wasn't a fan of their fries. Fast forward to today. I have lived here 5 years and this is the worst not only zaxbys but also fast food chain in town. The staff is so rude it's almost unbearable, they get your order incorrect every single time even if you repeat yourself a thousand times. It's 2022 people in the food industry should be aware of food allergies. I just wanted to order a simple salad and said 15 times I have an allergy (celiacs) that's very serious. I asked for no toast and fried onions. They were distracted and I repeated myself multiple times. When I got to the window they asked what I wanted again and I repeated it again. They then gave me a salad that I could not eat because of the bread and the cross contamination. It's 2022 don't work food service if you don't know wtf you are doing. We pay you for the food. This location takes hours to go through because no organization, the people are so unbearable to even deal with that works there, the food is always wrong and quite frankly it tastes like shit. I NEVER leave reviews unless it's positive or not at all tbh but I'm so done with this location it would honestly be better to shut down. I NEVER recommend it. This Zaxby's location just opened up a few months ago, and the food here is really good! Most of the time, my food has been really yummy and my order has been correct. The interior of the restaurant is small, but has cute decorations and doesn't look like the inside of a typical fast-food restaurant. My major complaint comes from the layout and organization of the interior and exterior of the place. I'm not sure if it's because this location is so new to this part of town or what, but the drive-thru line is ridiculous! The layout of the small parking lot and odd layout of the drive-thru line makes eating here nearly impossible during peak times. The drive-thru does this weird S-shaped loop which splits the parking lot in half. Good luck to anyone that parks in the back of the restaurant because that backs up into the drive-thru line and you will probably never have room to leave your parking space. And I've noticed during peak hours that the drive-thru line backs up into the side street, which causes traffic to back up on Charlotte. It's really just a case of a wildly popular restaurant and a poorly planned parking layout. The times that I did find a parking spot, the line inside is long as well. And it's not because of the staff -- I see them busting their butts back there trying to get the orders out quickly. And on that note, I must say this Zaxby's is very well-staffed when I have visited. But there is a layout problem in the dining room as well. People in line for the soda/ice machine are bumping into people trying to throw trash away, and also bumping into people coming/going through the front door. It's like the Bermuda Triangle of Zaxby's. The staff are not really friendly, but not NOT friendly either...just ehh. Will I return here...yes! (Probably too many times). I think once the shiny newness of this place wears off, many of the traffic problems will die down. The food is really yummy here...even for a chicken hater like me. So when you go to pick up the order, the only way is to wait through the hour long drive thru. Unfortunately had a negative experience at this Zaxby's last night. There a cashier who repeatedly told me there was no take out orders on their side of things and refused to check. I was looking at a bag behind the counter and asked if that was my order. She left the register and never returned after stating that "these people better get out of my face" in reference to me and another man looking for our take out orders. Another employee had to come out to take orders and hand me my bagged take out order. I get to the location and the lobby doors are locked.. so I look to the drive thru, the line is wrapped around the building into the street... so I ask the man in the drive thru window what's going on. I then waited over an HOUR for my order to be ready because after waiting and asking, I was finally told my order was skipped. I typically have a good experience at the Zaxby's. Tonight I did not. For one I found spit in my food. This was after one of the employees, her name is Kembry became aggressive and rude with me after I pulled up to the window and asked her if she could add two sauces to my order. I apologized and told her that I forgot originally when I was ordering at the microphone and she became angry with me. She then asked me to pull up and I waited 15 minutes for her to bring out my order. When I got home I found spit in my food. While it was only a $12 order, is extremely unsanitary and dangerous. Not following COVID health codes. Just heard the drive thru attendant tell a friend of mine who was doing doordash that he was required to come inside to get food. No other restaurants are doing this. He politely requested not to, Little does she know he is a volunteer nurse. He was doing it for HER safety and she had the audacity to say, "You work for Doordash, so you have to do what I say." Found two gnats in my black and blue salad....I tried giving this Zaxby's a chance although the reviews were absolutely horrendous. I mean they got my order right but the bugs in my food makes me think about the cleanliness of this restaurant. I work in the food industry and trust me, I understand bugs get places but if I get any feeling that a bug has gotten in someone's food or it has landed in someone's meal...it's going right back. Seriously all you 1 star rating??? I was there during a busy dinner time drive-through all the way out around the building on the street. Went into the lobby with several people waiting for their food. Destiny took my order and within 12 minutes I was out of there with fresh perfect salads and a sandwich. All four people working in the kitchen we're on a hustle. Lady at the drive-through was moving quick. Everyone needs to cut these fast food workers and slack.
