The pork was 95% fat there was nearly no meat to be spoken of, I can't even fathom how awful it would've looked had I chosen pulled. My sides were the BBQ beans which were smokey, thick and outstanding. The dirty rice was a question in what the heck were they thinking. Never have I ever in 55 years seen corn kernels in dirty rice and I'm accustomed to there being ground meat not chunks of sausage and I don't know what type of sausage they were using but there was something almost sweet and a lil bit tangy to it which thoroughly threw everything off balance and the rice was thick and chewy. We could see cooks with dirty-looking rags sitting in the same areas where food was being prepared, and the kitchen vent was beyond filthy. If the areas customers can see look like that, it immediately raises questions about the sanitation standards in the areas we can't see. Now the bar. You cannot advertise a FULL BAR when half the inventory is unavailable and I have to explain to the person behind the bar how to make my drink. That's not a full bar. That's a liquor shelf with a confidence problem. Then there's the service. Our waitress looked like she had 47 other places she would rather be. If customers feel like they're inconveniencing the person being paid to serve them, you have a serious hospitality problem. And for the love of restaurant standards--get uniforms. That's the rental space available, I get it. That same female bartender then comes to us and makes a passive aggressive comment about how we picked the table with the most space and chairs. To which then I asked her "would you like for us to sit somewhere else?" and she replied" no, it's okay." Already didn't appreciate the passive aggressive attitude because a) she told us to sit ourselves and b) I asked her if she wanted us to move and she said no. She asked us what we wanted to drink and she brought us our waters. After that, the young, tan guy (the food runner/waiter) grabbed our orders and helped us out the rest of the evening. Time goes by, we get our food, everything is alright. And then, when we are finishing up our food, I hear that same female bartender from afar talking to our male runner saying "they pick the biggest table and now we need it" in a very annoyed manner - as if we are being a nuisance or inconvenience to her. Now, to all my non-white folks, Debary has always had a certain... reputation... about how... certain people receive certain treatment.
