    Buffalo blue salad
    John C.

Visited this new-ish Zaxby's tonight for dinner. It wasn't terribly busy but I was behind two other groups in line. I kinda wish someone had come to the other register to help the line move quickly. There was some confusion as I ordered but we got it settled. The manager who helped wasn't terribly kind and definitely didn't give the "happy to help" vibe. I got the Bleu salad with buffalo grilled chicken. It was fine. I wouldn't get it again. The buffalo sauce was squeezed onto the salad instead of tossing the chicken bites in them. This made the whole salad pretty soggy. Again, it was fine. I enjoyed the blue cheese crumbles and the crispy onions. I'll probably go back in the future but will try something else.

    Pathetic salad. Half full.

First time coming to this Zaxby's and went through the drive thru. I have usually had good experiences and good food. I would agree with many of the previous reviewers anonymous the poor customer service, unfortunately I didn't read them until after the fact. I went through the drive through and Khaliyah took my order, or attempted to. She seemed to struggle working the two-way communication system and was not aware of how customer service works. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with ranch. She asked me which one. I said the house salad. She then asked grilled or crispy. I said grilled. She asked which dressing, and again I said ranch. Keep in mind when I asked any question or needed her to repeat her question there was no response. Pretty desiring but I tried to be patient. After ordering she said pull up to the window. I pulled up to the window and she said $8.53. I gave her my credit card. Gave me my card back and said "here" as I was suppose to know what she was thinking. Then basically threw my salad at me through the window. Talk about poor customer service and an attitude! Not only was I disappointed with the service, came to find out when I got home that my salad was only half full.....not worth $8.50. I have receive this same salad many times before and the lid wouldn't stay on because it was so full. Nothing good about this restaurant. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. You'll save money and employee attitudes.

Food service glove found in Salad
    Kim R.

Found a fly in the salad last week Tuesday and a food service glove I my salad Today 7/10/18. After bringing this to the manager's attention, I was treated very rudely. The manager said "how do I know you didn't put the glove in the salad"! I was asked to leave and she called 911 because I refuse to leave without my receipt. The level of disrespect was appalling. It's the absolute worst customer service experience I ever had. Never Again!

    Drive Thru window

Girl working the drive thru has nails so long she can barely hand me my card and receipt. Nobody wants to see food service employees with nails that long. Employees have their keys, drink cups and even cells phones charging on the counter in plain site of the window. The 92 sanitation grade makes sense.

Been to this location quite a few times had one in Georgia when I was stationed there glad the franchises are starting to move north! Today my little nibbler buns were burnt & the cashier seems pretty green, she's not wearing a uniform either which I find unprofessional etc...Dinning Room is a bit messy today also. In general the food here seems way to expensive for what it is, but it is unique so I find myself paying the inflated prices time to time. There's this one platter they have with fingers, wings & fries...I always get that when I have a friend with me, split the food & the price makes more sense it's definitely enough food for two.

Wow! Who knew they had so many?!

I enjoy their Zax sauce probably way too much! But I can't help it because it's delicious on everything! I do wish they included a drink with the meals, but also enjoy they include a nice buttery piece of toast! The price isn't bad for fast food and the to-go boxes keep your food in its place on the way home! Nothing can be more upsetting than getting home and seeing your food a hot mess at the bottom of the bag! I truly love the Zalads just as much as the tenders and fries!

The chicken itself was excellent. It was incredibly juicy, perfectly fried, and had a great crispy coating. My only issue was that the breading felt like it was missing a little something, maybe more seasoning, pepper, or some extra flavor. Growing up with places like Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis and Nashville hot chicken, I think I naturally expect a little more punch from the chicken itself. The sauce they serve is more of a barbecue style sauce, and while it worked, I personally didn't love it enough for it to carry all the flavor. The sides were a mixed bag. The collard greens were really good and definitely one of the highlights. The coleslaw, though, was way too pepper heavy for my taste. Also, the piece of bread that comes with the meal was honestly not worth the calories. I'd rather see them either upgrade the bread or skip it altogether. One unexpected highlight was the pebble ice from the drink machine. Small detail, but it was awesome and definitely appreciated. Overall, I'd come back and try some different sides because the chicken itself is worth returning for. With a little more seasoning or some different sauce options, I could see this being a 5 star spot.

I've tried their Fried Chicken Sandwich ( small filet, middle of the pack overall), but not the wings. Today I ordered the classic wings, both the Original Hot and the Lemon Pepper dry rubbed - a 6 piece mix & match combo for $12.69, it comes with their famous, well seasoned FF and a large drink. I also got a side of Cajun Corn medallions. I got both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch sauces. The FF are rather unique for a fast food spot - freshly hand cut, with a bit of skin left on, sprinkled with a seasoning mix that gives the fries sweet, salty, and savory aspects. While these fries are very popular, I'm not a fan of the seasoning, don't care for the sweet flavor on fries. Without that sweetness, these would be very, very good fries in both taste and texture - as it is, I would pass on a combo on any future visits, or swap out the fries for celery or such. The corn medallions are sliced directly from the cob, deep fried, and then sprinkled with Cajun seasoning. The corn was tasty and in medallion form, easy to deal with, but a touch greasy. The medallion were easily handled with one hand, a convenient touch. Now let's talk about the wings. The wings served here are touted as never frozen , and are cooked to order. The cooked to order claim is simply not always the case - at heavy traffic times, full baskets are cooked in anticipation of orders to be received - just how broad is the "cooked to order" window? Since around 90% of Wingstop restaurants are franchised operations, I would guess there can be significant differences in the breadth of that window. As to the never frozen, this approach brings up logistical issues for the individual restaurants - dependable suppliers capable of frequent deliveries, determining proper delivery sizes - would locations be tempted to freeze chicken to reduce loss? Would cooked wings be "carried over" to the next day? Like always, get to know your restaurant if you expect you will visit more than just occasionally! As is my habit when visiting a restaurant, I arrived shortly after the posted opening time - here it is 10:30. As was the case at the other location ( and a good number of other restaurant spots), they weren't really ready to conduct, still prepping, organizing, turning on the fryers, checking their cell phone, getting ready for their day in the world of fast food service! Took just under 25 minutes to get my order, not exactly fast food speed. The Original Hot wings were very nice with the sauce providing the right amount of heat to complement the plumb, well cooked chicken. The texture was also excellent with the tender meat pulling cleanly off the bone. The wings were nicely sauced with a bit of residue at the bottom for more dipping, but not so much as to make the wings soggy in any way! The Lemon Pepper wings were much the same, though I found them as touch bland. The Blue Cheese was good, but not great. I thought the ranch was the stronger of the two! Would I come back for these wing - only if a convenient drive by. There are a number of spots locally that topped these wings, with comparable pricing and better service - Starting with Ronni's, Waldo's, Sixty-Six, and even Longhorn, for dry rub. And other very good choices include Pizza Hut (Yes, Pizza Hut), Chili's, East Coast Wings, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees, and of course Zaxby's! Long review, but for a reason - this chain is getting a lot of media attention - sometimes this works, sometimes it don't - we'll see, I think there are storms on the horizon, with the service aspect the most troubling!

They have 3 TV's in the dining room but muted of course and NO music. Ugh. It's become an epidemic with restaurants in Winston. We ordered some original mild tenders, bone in wings in Lemon pepper and original hot, , Cajun corn and veggie sticks. Of course we got sides of their famous ranch and a honey mustard sauce as well. The tenders are big! I got a 5 piece and I could only eat two. I had two bone in lemon pepper wings as well and now I know what the hype on this flavor is all about. SO good! I want to try that flavor in the tenders next time. When we placed our order, we were told it would be 18 min. I've read some reviews on the other location in Winston about it taking much longer than the quoted time so I set my stopwatch to see how long it would actually take. Almost to the minute it was 18 min. I also wasn't super hungry so I got the Big Ol' Pretzel with queso (other side choices were brown sugar or mustard) and a Caesar side salad. The pretzel was great. It was salty and had a great texture (and did not have that microwaved chewy texture that you get sometimes)! I do prefer beer cheese to queso but the pretzel was so good it wasn't a huge deal. The side salad was larger than expected. I didn't care for the dressing. It was not a traditional Caesar taste or texture - not creamy, more of a vinaigrette, and gave the salad greens a slimy texture. I often debate back-and-forth whether or not to go to a sports bar to enjoy it or to stay at home. The unfortunate thing about going to a sports bar is that you will have to sit next to someone that might be rooting against your team... so the food has to be really good to get me out... I am the exact opposite with the NFL. I prefer to go out and watch it at a sports bar because the games aren't that important to me. But that makes the food and ambience even more important. So, I had a client who wanted to get out for NFL football. We chose Twin Peaks. I had never been there before so I went in with no expectations. Interior looks more like a lodge than it does a sports bar. That concerned me... I am not from the south so I did not know what to expect. Were they going to serve bar food... Or was this going to a wild game menu? We were seated in the section with a server named Alyse. Someone else had recommended her section so we asked for it when we got there. She gave us the rundown the available beers and told us about the daily specials. A lot of times the server can dictate the dining experience. Her positive energy and friendliness got the evening off to a great start. She got us through some appetizer options and suggested the right topping for the nachos. They did not disappoint. The means were tasty and the quantity of food was ample for the price. She told us about the three options on the 22 ounce beers. I chose the brunette and it was cold and delicious. I am not a big beer drinker so this was a plus for me. After a bit-- the Eagles were wearing out the Cowboys-- we decided to order some wings. We were disappointed that they were out of the smoked wings, and chose the breaded ones instead. Again, Alyse, guided our wing decision and we chose the pineapple, habanero sauce, and the lemon pepper rub. The wings were sufficiently sauced and tasty. I loved the habanero sauce, even though it was probably a little too sweet for me. The lemon pepper wings were also delicious. I don't usually go for the dry rubs, but these were solid. The habanero wings were really really spicy. My client ate one and spent the next few minutes wiping the sweat off of his face. I am a professional spicy food eater so I handled them a little bit better. We hung out for a bit and grabbed our check and got out of there. If I were assigning grades, I would say that the server gets an A+ because she said the tone and was very friendly and attentive. The beer gets an A. It was cold and tasty. The nachos earned a B+. They were tasty, but they got a little soggy The wings definitely get an A. I love breaded wings and these were incredible. They were cooked well and the flavor will make me go back for more The menu is bountiful... The staff was friendly... The other diners were in a great mood....
