All the lights came on including the engine light, then the car began to shake and I lost power!! I WAS STRANDED on a two lane highway. I called the store to to advise them of my situation. It took them 45minutes total to get to me.Only 5 miles from the store, 25 mins. Later I call back to see where the manager is, Shan, the Asst. Mangr. rudely says, "I'm running the floor, I don't know" I advise her I'm alone on the side of the road, she says "so" and hang up on me. Horrible attitude. Infinite, the store manager arrives finds out it's WAAAYY too MUCH OIL. Long horrible story short TWO HOURS LATER we get back to Valoline. I see Asst. Mgr. Shan and ask her if she hung up on me. "Yes, I sure did. I didn't mess up your car. You don't blame me." As I walked away, I told her she was very unprofessional. She began saying some kind of slang, "I build'em up and knock'em down baby" " I'm the real" so aggressive and demonstrative that the manager had to the step in front of her and calm her down. I was totally disrespected. I WILL NEVER EVER STEP IN ANY ESTABLISHMENT THAT ALLOWS THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR!! I FELT UNSAFE AND THREATENED. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience.

Although I did not get any services at this shop they were honest with me about what they could and couldn't do, they did give me some recommendations of what to do and where to start and some estimates if I didn't to go with them. They also gave me a note for my employer in regards to the condition of my car! They seem like a very reputable place, if I need services in the future that they can accommodate I would definitely consider going to their shop. The workers were very pleasant, knowledgeable and didn't make me feel awkward in any way! They were very transparent and nice and that's really hard to find in a mechanic shop nowadays ESPECIALLY as a woman so I thank them for their kindness, straight-forward advice and pleasantries.

I have returned to Randall's now for nearly 15 years because I have never had a bad customer experience there. The staff is beyond knowledgeable and are so honest with you. They're a business for sure but they never try to upsell or overcharge you. I've compared their prices for years, and they have remained competitive. So everything else is gravy, and it's a lot. I trust Randall's for every single service and maintenance need for every vehicle I've owned in NC (1 sedan and 2 SUVs). And if they ever run into something they can't fix or believe you should bounce to another spot for a fix, they honestly tell you and reco great places. Randall's gets you back on the road without breaking your bank. 10/10. Can't reco enough.

I had them do both of the used cars I bought and they lasted me forever with regular maintenance. In my experience everyone that works in this facility is honest, fair, they want to help people and they want them to be safe. This is the first and ONLY mechanic shop that I have been to as a woman where I wasn't treated like I was a dunce or less than. The employees here explain things in a way of informing you not persuading you or intimidating you with fear that if you don't complete the job something extraordinarily bad is going to happen. They give you realistic expectations on how much more you can drive until you need to really get it done which helps people that are on a budget. I think the prices are higher on average but the amount of service, attention, and thoroughness you get the price is very fair! I recommend this place to everyone I know especially women because I know how important it is to feel safe with mechanics and not like they are trying to get over on you! I've had my share of bad experiences but never with Christian Brothers! They truly exemplify the name!

final update 1. My check engine light came on when I took…read morethe car home after the repair. Took it back. Tech explained it was due to the aftermarket part being used which is why he recommended the $9995.00 converter that I declined since I didn't want a $13,000 repair bill. My husband asked if the 02 sensors could be the issue. The tech said no. They had replaced one and the rest checked out ok. I took my car to another shop the following week. Turns out there was a bad 02 sensor. I have an invoice to show that I replaced it. 2. My battery was checked off as being good and they offered to clean the terminals for a nice fee. I had that done previously by them but I declined this time. My car would not start the following week and left me stranded at work. Turns out when it was removed , the battery was swollen on one end and leaking acid which might explain why the terminals were so corroded. I have the invoice where I replaced the battery. 3. Three weeks after the repair we heard a rattle in the rear when we pressed on the brake. We thought it might be the rear stabilizer link they replaced this last visit. We are not experts so wanted to be sure. . My husband took it in this am to be checked. They tightened it up then test drove it after. I hope that was the issue. We will see. 4. I noticed that they recommended that I have a brake fluid exchange this last visit due to brake fluid being burnt and dirty. I approved that but then realized it was just done 9months/10,000 miles ago. So my husband questioned the owner about that. The owner's immediate response.- " Why did your wife approve it ?" So to answer that question. You send these recommendations via text while I'm at work. I trusted your shop to run an ethical business and not send something out for approval that you just supposedly did. Volvo says 2 years /40,000 miles interval for that. However, that's my fault for not catching a duplication of service that was supposedly done Great deflection on blaming the customer for trusting you. I guess I'm supposed to carry around every invoice while I'm working. 5. My husband mentioned this am that I went to them thinking it would cheaper ." That seemed to insult the owner. To Clarify , I just didn't expect more than the dealer. 6. Lastly. Be sure that your customer has drove out of the parking lot before you start talking about the customer in a negative manner where it can be heard and seen in your waiting room. My husband walked back in to hear and witness the facial expression of the technician he spoke to talking abut him. To the owner. You can go back and look at the invoices to see how much I've spent without complaint and the duplication of the brake service. Our car is still out of alignment pulling to the right. Look how many alignments I've paid for. I even had it aligned at a local shop since it really was pulling bad after one of yours. You have my contact information if you truly want to make things right. I know you said to send an email to explain everything. Maybe I will but will just be a duplication of this information. At this point, I regret ever stepping foot into your business. Very disappointing. Original review. / My plan was to drive my 2011 Volvo XC70 until it came time for a very costly repair and then trade since I've had it for 10 years. I took it in since the car started loosing speed when accelerating and was sluggish going up hills. The first issue found was the exhaust manifold actuators so I agreed to have that repaired along with other items. That total was $2800. After that, I was told the catalytic converter was "now clogged." The repair with the Volvo brand part estimated to be $ 9995 ( warranted ) The car is not worth $5000. I opted for the aftermarket option ( no warranty ). Price was $1800 for a total of $4800 for everything. We got a quote from the Volvo service dept and it was $6435 plus tax which would be around $3500 less The price difference over the dealer for a repair just seems questionable. I will admit that the claim to 10 minute oil changes seems dubious but you can pretty consistently get out in under 20 minutes unless they're busy. Inspections can be slow because they only use one of three lanes for that, so you can have a line of cars waiting for inspections with two empty bays. The customer lounge is minimal, but at least there's chairs and air conditioning, and really you're not here long anyways. I've never had issues with them trying to do shady upselling like some places (air filters/wipers/etc without even checking.) All around quick and professional service and a good choice.

I recently brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change and inspection around 3 PM. At the time…read moreof service, my vehicle had no warning lights or known issues. Approximately two and a half hours later, my check engine light came on. I returned to the shop the same day, and they scanned the code, which came back as P0430 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold). What is concerning is not just the timing, but the response I received. I was told it was "just a coincidence," and no further effort was made to inspect the vehicle. Given that this issue appeared immediately after service, I expected at minimum a basic check of components that may have been accessed or affected during the inspection, such as oxygen sensor connections or anything near the exhaust system. Instead, the concern was dismissed without any attempt to rule out whether something may have been inadvertently disturbed during service. As a customer, that lack of follow-through is frustrating and does not reflect thorough or responsible service. Additionally, my overall experience raised concerns about professionalism and honesty. During check-in, I was told that I would need new wiper blades in order for my vehicle to pass inspection. I was initially quoted $14.99 for the blades, but then the associate realized the correct length I needed was actually priced at $20. I was told he would still honor the $14.99 price, but that the receipt would show the 24-inch blades at the higher price. Being told one thing while knowingly documenting something different is concerning. Given that this kind of falsehood occurred, it raises questions about what else may not have been handled correctly during my service, including whether the correct oil was used or if something else may have been impacted. During check-in, I was also encouraged to leave a five-star review due to the number of one-star reviews the business has received. A specific complaint was even mentioned about the business not having a working phone. However, a phone number is printed on receipts, which would reasonably lead customers to believe they can contact the business by phone. That disconnect is misleading. While waiting for my vehicle, I observed staff engaging in unprofessional behavior, including using profanity and focusing more on social interactions than customer service. After paying $163, even with a $25 off coupon, I am now in a position where I still have to consult with a reputable mechanic to resolve an issue that was not present when I brought my vehicle in, and clearly was not present when the business passed the vehicle for a state inspection. I understand that the mechanical issue may ultimately be unrelated. However, the timing alone warranted a closer look, and I should not have had to push for that level of care. Combined with the lack of professionalism and questionable business practices, this experience has left me needing to seek a second opinion elsewhere, something that could have been avoided with more thorough service and accountability.
