Once inside, you're guided to the bar where you can look over the menu, enjoy a drink, and place your food order. After ordering, you're escorted to your table, such a unique experience! Each steak comes with a salad, relish plate, sourdough bread, and sautéed mushrooms. And do yourself a favor and get the Parmesan peppercorn dressing, you'll thank me later! Everyone gets to choose their own dressing I ordered the filet cooked medium, and the flavor was absolutely amazing. Our server, Sam, was also fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. This place was such a hidden gem, and I can't wait to come back!

Slight challenge noted in #3 1. The Vibe & decor was Nostalgic 1980s Wisconsin supper club vibe with Christmas lights, mirrored walls, and a small vintage bar. Being seated at the bar first was a treat because I got to see all the quality drink ingredients and had a front row to the live music. 2. The Drinks Excellent, high-quality cocktails with house made mixers instead of bottled stuff. The Hennessy Sidecar and Tiramisu Martini were both amazing! 3. The Food My husband ordered a Ribeye & Fries. He said it was the perfect medium, delicious, and had a good crust. His steak fries were piping hot and good! We shared them. I opted to get two appetizers instead of an entree which meant no salad unless I wanted to pay an up charge. I decided on the crab mac & cheese. It was flavorful and creamy. It had real crab meat folded directly into the cheese sauce instead of lump crab thrown on top like other Steakhouses Crab Cakes-Hate to say it but I was very disappointed. They were full of flour filler, there was not a lump of crab to find. I would be surprised if they're even made in house. Looked nothing the image that led to me ordering them. They had so much flour in them that they stuck to the roof of my mouth. Reminded me of Pick N Save's 5/$5 crab cakes from their meat department. 4.Service & Hospitality was top tier. The waitress was kind and attentive. She noticed the crab cakes were barely touched & when I expressed dissatisfaction with them she had them removed from our bill without any hesitation or pushback. Despite the crab cake challenge, the incredible drinks, great steak, nostalgic atmosphere, and stellar service made for a wonderful night out. So, to answer your question... Yes, we will absolutely be back!

On a recent visit, I had the steak tartar and bone marrow appetizers. Both were delicious, but the bone marrow was a standout. Ultra rich beef butter is what that is. For my steak, I went with the Australian Wagyu filet. It was not as rich as a Japanese A5, and more tender than an American Wagyu. Right in the sweet spot between those two. I probably did not need to use my knife. Delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, but not so much so that you felt bothered. Perfection in a meal is unattainable in my book, but that dinner was on the very edge of perfection.

This was a work dinner, otherwise I absolutely would have sent my meal back. The steaks were overwhelmingly salty--so much so that it completely overshadowed the quality of the meat. Even more frustrating, every steak at our table came out rare, regardless of how it was ordered. The asparagus was overcooked, the ramp chowder was just okay, and the dessert honestly tasted like something picked up from Sam's Club rather than made in-house. The drinks were very good, and the service was attentive and professional, which is the reason I gave this place 3 stars. For the reputation and price point, I expected much better. There are MUCH better options in Milwaukee, go elsewhere.

So I ventured out to learn more on a rainy and burning day. Amazing cocktails! And an incredibly friendly bartender. So kind and a great conversationalist. I had a non-Wisconsin old fashioned (so...lacking brandy) and a cocktail called Mystery and Melancholy which is gin based. The name alone sold me. I need a drink with a title that does a better job of explaining the ennui of life.

The interior is way nicer looking than the outside with a nice balance of old with modern looks. Huge wooden bar, tile floors, dark wood, tin ceiling and light walls completely covered with art etc. The table presentation was done very well. I would start with the red snapper which is a gin Bloody Mary spicy which was good but boring garnish wise with a string bean, shaved carrot and a thin pickle. The staff was excellent from start to finish. The menu has some very good items but I was there for the smothered browns which is similar to a slinger from the St. Louis area which I love. The smothered browns is crisply hash browns topped with melted cheese, chili, two eggs topped fresh chives with toast.. The smothered browns were so delicious and seasoned nicely with mild chili, just a great combination. The toast was excellent because it was a great quality bakery, an artisan style I like say with that nice chew like a sourdough. Overall this was a great upscale casual restaurant to chill on a Sunday morning having the brunch experience and reasonably priced I thought.

We definitely looked lost because one of the staff came to our rescue and told us to press the lobby button because that's the third floor where the restaurant lives. Stella is a large restaurant with a nice bar area, well stocked with good bourbon. We had a personable server named CJ, who was on top of everything and made our experience that much better. We started with cocktails, hubs had an old-fashioned and I had a paper plane. Stella's bread service was warm rolls with a chili garlic oil. Spicy! Everything we ordered we split between the two of us. We started with the Caesar salad which had the best anchovy dressing. Next was the grilled octopus with a creamy yogurt sauce. We could cut the octopus with a fork because it was that tender. For our main entree, we shared the bone-in ribeye. They offered different toppings, but we were glad we had it naked because it was perfect - tender, medium rare and flavorful. We chose the roasted carrots as a side and they were charred goodness. Happy to say there were no negatives to our dining experience - at all. It was fabulous!

Loved the double burger, perfectly seasoned and cooked to medium. All the toppings complemented it very well, and the fries were also awesome. Flat iron steak sandwich I loved the seasoning and how light pink yummy it was. I asked for the buns to be taken out, and a little extra greens instead, and ended up eating it kinda like a salad, but it was delicious. Flourless chocolate cake We ended up taking the desserts home because we were too full. The chocolate cake was right on the spot for me - not too heavy as some of these flourless cakes can become (more like mousse, which I'm not too keen on). Lemon ricotta cheesecake Light yet packing a punch. This was so good. Overall, a very very nice experience. Most of those spots only open for dinner, so I was thrilled to find that Bavette La Boucherie now serves lunch. My friend, a local, told me the restaurant originally began as a butcher shop. While that's no longer the case, the space still pays tribute to its roots -- shelves lined with kitchen knick-knacks, butcher-block counters, and a display of local provisions that hint at its past. Chef-owner Karen Bell leads the way here, and you can feel her touch throughout -- from the creative menu to the casual-elegant vibe. The décor blends exposed brick and warm wood with soft light and a friendly hum from the open kitchen. Our server, Matthew R., had only been with Bavette a couple of weeks, but his background in restaurant management showed. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and offered great suggestions. Before our sandwiches arrived, we shared a cup of pork and tomatillo pozole topped with cabbage slaw and a dollop of sour cream. It was piping hot, bright, and deeply flavorful -- the kind of starter that makes you stop talking for a minute just to enjoy the next spoonful. Having read rave reviews of the Korean steak au jus, I nearly ordered it, but Matthew suggested the roast-beef with cheddar since I'm not a big lunch eater. Excellent call. The sandwich was divine -- tender, flavorful beef layered with melted cheddar on a crisp, perfectly toasted roll. The beef-fat fries had great depth of flavor, though I'd love them even more if they were twice-cooked for that extra crunch. Being more of a gin or vodka drinker, I couldn't resist the Gin Old Fashioned on the cocktail list. It was delicious -- smooth, aromatic, and balanced enough that I happily ordered a second. Great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Bavette La Boucherie is a gem I can't wait to revisit.
