The vegan options were pretty limited compared to last time, but I was able to try the hummus. Unfortunately, I found what appeared to be bacon mixed in with the Brussel sprouts, so I wasn't able to eat that. I didn't see that listed on the menu. Otherwise, I would've chose something else. Loved the smokiness in the hummus and the other roasted veggies. To drink, I had the Eldr Rummer. It was good and I appreciated the presentation of the flame on top. The menu isn't extensive but everything is really good: the sliders, the shrimp skewers, the elote (corn on the cob), breakfast tacos, the pork schnitzel. Portions are generous and everything has a great flavor. Service was friendly but typically slow every time I visited, probably due to a staffing shortage. This was the only downside to E&R. Everything was spot on. We were there Friday night before the crowd. We were seated in a booth that was so cozy. Olivia was an attentive waitperson and very personable. We started with the lobster bisque. Mmmm, spicy, creamy, with lobster meat you could scoop onto your spoon! My halibut dinner was so original and delicious. Alaskan halibut was slightly dry but sea bass was great. Braised short rib melted in the mouth. Served atop mashed potatoes, broccolini and au jus. Lavender lemonade was refreshing but April spritz needed a bit more proseco. Our server, Emily, was very sweet and easily offered side options and addressed any issues quickly and with a smile. I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We celebrated my friends 21st birthday here for brunch and we were treated so poorly. It took us more than an hour for us to get our food. The service was slow and in waiting two of my friends fell asleep ( I know it was inappropriate) but we hadn't noticed until the server came over and told us that the manager, marina was about to call the cops on us because of it. We were a large party (about 12 people) and the bill was well over $800. It was kind of unfortunate because we were also a group of black individuals so it also felt as if we were being racially profiled. The restaurant is attached to the hotel, has lots of (fake) plants that really look real and give a forest feeling. Everything is clean and the staff is attentive. I got oysters (raw) and the tuna tartar. Like WOW! The oysters were good but did have the east coast more "salty" taste than west coast ones have. The size and growth was excellent though. The tuna tartar was pretty exceptional. Very great quality tuna without a doubt. My only iffy on this was (and I love seaweed) was that the seaweed middle was a bit over salty/ powering. I didn't scrape some out. Typically I'd just eat this but tried the fried chips that came with it and they were PERFECT! They were light, and crispy and in no way took away from the tuna or avocado. 100% would order again, just I'd ask to be light on the seaweed middle. read more

Came here for happy hour and I think I was looking at an old HH menu that had a lottt more options in terms of food. When we went, the only offerings were half off oysters and then drink specials. Ended up deciding to just eat dinner as well at the bar. Overall, service was slow (had to get the bartenders attention multiple times) and the dishes were overpriced and underwhelming. The interior is incredibly beautiful and elegant and has all the looks of a nicer upscale restaurant with the prices to reflect that but the quality doesn't match up to the surface. We got a half dozen oysters, which were good but comparable to places that aren't as fancy and a Filet Oskar which... the king crab completely overshadowed (flavor wise and physically) the filet. We ordered it medium rare and it came out bordering medium well and was dry and tough to chew. The king crab, asparagus and bearnaise sauce were absolutely delicious though. smoked whitefish trout dip was super yummy and would recommend. The menu also had said that they offered free house focaccia bread which at most restaurants, the server will ask if you want any bread but here we had to ask which I also found odd. I stayed the night at the hotel and got a breakfast ticket for the restaurant. Although the menu was small, the items were all perfect. I got the breakfast tacos, and they were delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The chorizo was flavorful, and the sauce on the side added a fantastic extra touch. We ordered the cold brew which was prepared way too sweet for me. The macchiato that was ordered came out as a straight up latte in a large mug. - the breakfast tacos needed more spice. My girlfriend and I went here for lunch on Friday, November 25 at 12:30 PM. Is located inside the Radisson Hotel, beautiful decor, the openness of the restaurant & space is very nice. I was seated right away by the hostess and later, when my party came, the waitress, came over to take our drink orders. We ordered the Charcuterie board, salad (which was small portion for the price) and pesto chicken sandwich with a side of ranch. Everything was good, but my fries were overcooked and was a little disappointed with the fries, since it was only a few people in the restaurant and not busy at all. Overall, my sandwich salad and charcuterie board was good and the drink my friend ordered. She said it was good as well. The Smoked trout + whitefish dip was good with house made chips, pickles, onions, etc. Perhaps a more open plating of this starter would make sharing easier. The caramelized brussels sprouts were a miss due to being undercooked (browned exterior, hard interior, too much pork belly). Wild alaskan halibut was good with nice level of spice. Quartered chicken was decent but with undercooked/hard broccolini. Not quite Lupi & Iris or Ca Luchenza level but would recommend Eldr + Rime. 3.75 stars. read more

The food was the only truly great part of our experience at Eldr Rime. I ordered the short rib, which was absolutely mouth-watering and easily the highlight of the meal. It was served on a bed of Nordic mashed potatoes with grilled broccoli, caramelized Brussels sprouts, and pork belly--everything on the plate was executed very well and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the service was horrible and completely detracted from the dining experience. Our server forgot about us multiple times, and we had to repeatedly remind her of basic things we needed. We were never offered the complimentary bread basket, were not informed of any specials, and the drinks were disappointing--lacking flavor, poorly made, and even served in the wrong glasses. For a restaurant with this much hype, the service and drink program simply did not meet expectations. While the food was excellent, the overall experience was not worth the price or the reputation. This is the kind of place that risks fading away--much like the Vikings--if the service issues aren't addressed. I'm not sure we will return. read more

We've gone for brunch service twice now and it is one of the better brunch restaurants for their price point. I really like their cold brew Negroni and my partner likes to get their espresso martini with tequila - both really flavorful, and pack a punch. Out of all of their starters their tuna tartare is the star of the show. We recently went for her birthday, and we ordered a copious amount of the tuna tartare. I really like their short rib hash. The only thing I would change is maybe asking for the potatoes on the side instead of within the beef and egg, it gets a little too runny/soupy for my liking. It is attached to the hotel there so it is really nice and interior and seating area and usually pretty open for folks too. We dined here for Valentine's Day, which was our first time at the restaurant. The dim lighting with wooden furniture made for a cozy vibe - ideal for the occasion. On Valentine's Day there was a special prix fixe menu for couples, or you could order off the a la carte menu. The a la carte menu is the typical menu available. We ordered off the a la carte menu because they had several vegetarian options that we wanted to try. Each dish we ordered was delicious, bursting with flavor and well plated. We especially liked the Brussel sprouts with pork belly and the fig and prosciutto flatbread. We had both of these dishes served with the meat on the side. A popular drink is the Reyker Old Fashioned ($16) which is a smoky cocktail. Our favorite cocktail was the Maple Leaf. There is also an extensive wine list and awesome mocktail menu including kombucha on the menu. If you plan to eat here during an event like Valentine's weekend, we recommend you make a reservation in advance - the place was very busy by 5pm on a Saturday on Valentine's Day weekend. This is the restaurant within the Renaissance Milwaukee West Hotel that offers room service and table service. I went down for breakfast twice while staying in the hotel. My waitress was friendly and gave me tips on the restaurant's most popular items. The menu offers some eclectic options, some I would never think of for breakfast. The prices went from reasonable to slightly outrageous depending on the item. I ordered the short rib hash, which had succulent pieces of beef short rib, topped with crispy fingerling potatoes, pickled sweet chili peppers, charred pearl onions, and a sunny side-up egg. It was such a flavor combination of savory, sweet, crispy, and smooth. The next morning I ordered the Asiago Bagel Sammy, which was bagel sandwich with applewood smoked bacon, sautéed onions, a fried egg, and jalapeño cream cheese. The manager was friendly and took care of a few requests we had (table and bathroom issues). He was great. Our server was friendly and took our orders. I just wish she would have asked how everything was. Overall the presentation of all the food was great. Two of us had the King Crab Benedict ($25). This consists of king crab, poached eggs, asparagus, an English muffin topped with hollandaise and to drink I had their Mimosa (which I didn't realize was also $25 and is probably just 2oz of Cava). Although the service was good, in all honesty, I would not come here again. The amount of King Crab on the Benedict must have been about half of an ounce. It was not even visible. Anyone who eats Eggs Benedict knows that poached eggs should be runny, but the Eggs Benedict here is overcooked as you can see in the pictures. Spending $50 on Eggs Benedict and a Mimosa one would expect their chef to do better with quality control. As someone who once was a kitchen manager, I'd never send out overcooked eggs. One of our family members had their Glazed Faroe Island Salmon ($32) with charred broccolini, tomato jam, crispy leeks, and bourbon glaze. As you can see in the picture, the salmon is actually burnt, and honestly, for this price, it would not hurt to give more than 3 stems of broccolini, considering this is a 4oz piece of salmon. I suck at remembering to take pictures. But at least I got the oysters! (The best part!) Super crispy breadcrumbs and cheese with a spicy sauce and charred lemon. Perfect way to eat an oyster. I also tried the beet salad and I've had it before, but this time it was a little too acidic. Maybe they added too much dressing but it was just a little over powering. TL:DR; go for drinks, food is good but expect slow service and if there are mistakes (bound to be) customer service isn't good to fix problems. If you're going here just for the bar, the drinks were delicious and my party had a few different ones and they were all good. Arriving the ambiance was nice, fake trees, date night feel or even big group intimate vibes. Service was slow and frankly subpar. That impacted the food. Food was delicious when we got it. However, because service was so slow it means there's no room for mistakes, which there were on our entrees and after such slow service (and a waitress that we couldn't find for 10 mins to fix the rubber tire of a steak) we left. My entree was also luke warm. Meaning they overcooked one and while that was cooking away left my entree on the heating lamps. This is a really good place. I think I've eaten here three times so far and haven't been disappointed. It's easy to book because there isn't a lot of traffic here. It's upscale in an area that is on the edge of middle class. And, it is set in a hotel on the parking lot of the only mall left standing. However, the ambiance is excellent. Big, open space that never suffers from that loud MKE effect; you know, the groups of middle-aged people all laughing at everything everyone at their table says in deafening volumes. Eldr + Rime is about the experience. And, it is good. The kitchen produces really great dishes. I had the butternut squash soup. It was flavorful with dashes of creme fresh and seeds. The grilled asparagus was made to perfection. And even the Mac and cheese had been elevated. My father had the shrimp cocktail and an 8 oz. filet. He seemed pretty content, though did comment the steak was really tasty but tough to cut. So, with all that being said, good is where Eldr + Rime lands.
