I was referred to Zee years ago when I was working for a new car leasing company on Newport Blvd. We would often pick up and sell the client's used car, so they normally had to be smog tested. No matter what the case we would always bring our cars to Zee. His service is the best and he is a very friendly guy. His employees are always great, too. Now I have long ago left the auto business but bring my car to Zee whenever needed for a smog test. I live down in Dana Point and gladly make the drive to Costa Mesa just to have Zee test my car. He is very trustworthy and highly recommended. People think I am crazy to drive here but not only does Zee do great work, he is also a wonderful guy. He emigrated to the USA years ago and works hard to take care of his customers. If he has time he will gladly share a story and really cares about his clients. The best! Walked in to Zee's to get a smog test as the DMV required to have it done at a STAR station. Zee was so friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in even though he was talking to a customer in front of me. Zee was efficient and in 15 minutes, he was all done! He offered me water and asked if I wanted to walk my dog I could and he would leave the car parked once he was finished. Took our rarely driven Porsche in and it failed. Zee diagnosed the issue perfectly. It needed to be driven as the electronic components needed to reset. Second time it passed. It is 3 days from registration. My wife says, "Oh by the way, the '77 MBZ has to be smogged this year before registration." Gee, thanks for the notice Honey! As I have done for the last 15 years we have owned this garage queen (it seemingly never leaves our garage) I rush down to Zee's where our mechanic in Costa Mesa had recommended we go. I bring the newspaper. I know it will be awhile. When a car doesn't get driven often, it's internal workings get dirty. Experience tells me that it will take a while for Zee to get it to pass. So I sit and read while Zee creates his magic. Finally it passes. And like a dentist telling their patient to floss more often, Zee tells me to get the car out of the garage once in a while to make his job easier. I promise.
