Gyro with fries and two slices of pepperoni pizza.

Got the lamb gyro and fries ($4) and two slices of pizza ($8). Gyro was tasty, no complaints. Fries were underwhelming both in doneness and quantity. The seasoning on the fries was good. However, when the menu shows a basket full of fries and you receive what amounts to a meager side, you've shot yourself in the foot. Two slices of pizza at $8 amounts to a $32 pizza. You'd expect more and better at that price point. At least give me some mushrooms and make sure the bottom is toasty. It's like they made the pizza, had it in a pizza box and divvied out the slices willynilly. Throw them on the flat top to crisp the underside up a bit. Throw them in the salamander to melt the cheese. At least act like you care. I was one of the first customers of the evening. Even so, service was lackluster. Whenever you feel as if you're inconveniencing the order taker by being there, there's a problem. A simple smile with "please" and "thank you" can go a long way. And get off your phone! Also, get a loud speaker so people can hear when you call their names.

    Food Truck Zeko's!

Food truck that deserves a better rating, so I'll try to help them out! Though I'm starting to cool a bit on the whole food truck craze due to a lot of sub par food at high prices, Zeko's does a pretty good job at Greek cuisine! I had a Chicken Gyro that was quite tasty! Filled nicely with seasoned grilled chicken, tomatoes, onions, and a couple other surprises. This was quite filling and a decent price of $8 for food truck prices. You could certainly do a lot worse than giving these guys your business!

Zeko's Pizzeria & Grill brick and mortar restaurants have been serving the Piedmont Triad since 2005. In September, they went officially mobile with the Zeko's 2 Go food truck. You may have seen them at the NC Food Rodeo, Woofstock 2014, the Kernersville Food Truck Festival at The Brewer's Kettle, or the Great PumpkinPalooza. We threw caution to the winds on Tuesday and decided the risk of frostbite and hypothermia would be worth it if we could try a new food truck. We met up with Zeko's 2 Go in Winston Salem, scanned the chalkboard menu quickly, and placed our order while keeping bundled up to stay warm. We started with the Greek Chicken Pita. The thick, heavy pita had been lightly grilled and was stuffed with white meat chicken, crisp lettuce, sliced tomato, and chunks of feta cheese. A subtle drizzle of oil and vinegar dressed the sandwich. We would love to ratchet the vinaigrette up a notch with more herbs on this healthy pita. Jerry and I have an exceptional fondness for gyros, especially lamb. There was ample grilled lamb and tzatziki sauce (yogurt with minced cucumber, garlic and lemon juice) on the Lamb Gyro along with lettuce, tomato and crunchy red onion. Zeko's 2 Go had several options for the younglings. We had a slice of the cheese and a slice of the pepperoni pizzas (crust was hand-tossed thickness/style). Shakers of crushed red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese were available. The Chicken Tenders & Fries came with three tenders, BBQ sauce or Ranch for dipping, and a good portion of crisp, hot fries that had been lightly spiced with seasoning salt. Our favorite of the day was the Philly Steak & Cheese. Sauteed mushrooms, onions and green peppers combined with lean beef and melted cheese to create a moist, hearty, filling sub. The roll was fresh and soft. This went on our list of things to order again. They were at the Shea's Chase 5K run .. the Gyros were yummy and the seasoned fries were better than expected from a food truck.

Had Zeko's for the first time today and it was sooooooo delicious! Had the lamb gyro with fries for about $10 and it was worth it! Had a very generous amount of lamb that was very well seasoned and actually had tzatziki sauce on it! A lot of other places have "cucumber sauce" that has has chunks of cucumbers, but Zeko's sauce was nice and smooth and creamy, just delicious! Will definitely be returning!

Every single thing we have tried has been great from the wings and nachos to the sandwiches and pizzas.... Our favorite go-to appetizer is the Southwest Egg Rolls. They are delicious and don't even get me started on the Cilantro Aioli that comes with them- my favorite!! We have tried so many of the pizzas and really like several of them but our favorite has become the Mexicali Pizza (I get my half drizzled with the cilantro aioli that comes with the Southwest Egg Rolls) and get a side for dipping the crust. They have one of my favorite versions of a Cuban sandwich that they call The Southbound. I have gotten it for lunch or to go on several occasions when I can't decide what to get. Their House Salad is one of the best salads I have had in the area. The staff is amazing & so friendly! Sam and Alisha are two of our favorite bartenders! The "regulars" that we have also met from seeing them when we are there have also been very friendly and welcoming- just an all around fun place to grab a bite and a drink!

One of the best traits a restaurant can have, is self-awareness. Knowing what you are, who your…read morecustomers are and what they want, and not deviating by trying to be something different. Adam's Jamestown Pizza and Grill is a really good example of this. Let me tell you why. My 5 stars isn't me telling you, you should rush yourself and all your family here, as well as out of town guests, to eat some of the most incredible food in the Triad. That isn't what this place is for. In fact, most of their business is take out. They do have a dining room, but according to the manager, I am one of the few who has used it lately. No, this place is for when you, and maybe a couple others, need an inexpensive, no-nonsense meal that is filling, tasty enough, and perfect for a night where you aren't looking to go big. You want a sandwich? They've got sandwiches. Pizza, pasta, a little bit of Greek? That's on the menu too. Fried seafood, actually, they have that in spades! For my part, I came in at darn near 9pm on a Thursday. Just needed some food, didn't want to make it for myself. Driven by this place countless times. Decided I finally wanted to give it a shot. I like to eat my food fresh, so I asked the friendly manager, Jack, if I could enjoy it there. He was happy to oblige, and turned the A/C on in there as it was a little stuffy (unprompted by me). They had a special for whiting (1 or 2 pieces, adjust to your appetite), popcorn shrimp, fries, slaw, hushpuppies. I love an easy fried seafood platter. I went for that. Jack asked me if I cared for whiting, and offered a couple other choices instead, no upcharge. I went with Pollock. I had a seat and in about 10-15 minutes, a beautiful filet of lightly breaded, nicely seasoned fish was presented. Underneath it, a generous helping of popcorn shrimp, fries, hushpuppies. On the side, a cup of coleslaw, cocktail sauce, ketchup, and tartar sauce. Ready to eat! The fish, nice long filet, took up the whole container. Fish perfectly flaky, not at all greasy, with a super light hand-breading. I thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, there was barely any grease at all on the paper lining. I appreciate this. Popcorn shrimp were small, numerous, great with cocktail sauce. Fries, really good, but I didn't eat many because i wanted to eat all my seafood fresh before filling up. Hushpuppies, also pretty good. The cole slaw, not my favorite, personal preference. Too much mayonnaise, but in general, I don't like mayo much, and like a sparse application of it in any cold salad. I wasn't here for slaw, i was here for fried fish and it was great. I also got to enjoy some conversation with Jack. Learned about his customers, the difficulty of running a restaurant post-pandemic, staff retention issues. Those struggles are pretty common now, but nice to have a frank discussion among two people that know the restaurant industry well. All in all. I ate all my fish and shrimp, some of my fries, and a couple hushpuppies. I was very satisfied, and I know I'll come back to fill a fish craving, as well as try other things on the menu. So to my readers I say, keep your expectations in line with the price, and know that there are gems here to be had!

My assertion that I still like a whole pizza fresh when it comes to this style still holds true. Unless you happen to come at a busy time (actually prefered in this case) you may be getting a re-heated slice that could have been out of the oven for quite awhile. Reheating pizza by the slice to order is of course a common industry practice, but once they sit a bit too long, your end result can be less than ideal. If I think I can eat the leftovers, or definitely if I am sharing with someone, I definitely go the full pizza route. All in all, while I don't tell anyone to rush to Mario's because you absolutely have to have it, it is as reliable as they come at pretty much any of their locations... and that is much appreciated.
