We just moved into a new house in July '14 and that 2014-15 winter, we received interior water damage because our old roof was damaged. It was a nightmare! American Roofing did removal of our old roof and gutters and gave us an entire new roof with new shingles, new plywood in damaged areas, installed ice guard, new underlayment and installed a new skylight. First of all, let me say that I have never had a contractor be so diligent in returning my calls and emails, and thoroughly answering all of my questions with patience and understanding. Every other roofer and contractor we spoke with would leave us waiting for days, if not weeks and would have us calling back time and time again just trying to get an appointment or to receive a quote. Secondly, American Roofing fit us into their busy schedule and completed the work in literally two business days. Seriously, two business days! In addition, they cleaned up quickly and left no mess. They also brought a trailer with them so when the crew needed to use the restroom they had one in the trailer (no port-a-potty!). This is an extremely classy business, and one that is incredibly rare to the construction industry. Richard Mott, the owner himself, was up on our roof working hard and supervising his employees making sure that everything was done properly and promptly! Not to mention that the quote he gave us was competitive with every other quote we received from other roofers. I honestly can not say enough great things about this Richard and American Roofing! Bond was denied but that doesn't negate the warranty for poor workmanship and trying to pass the cost on to me the customer to get it fixed. The fact remains to this day, there is a failed inspection due to the negligence and the permit remains open for which 3rd Generation has been cited by the city of University Hts.

Within a month of him replacing our siding the siding started falling off of the house. I have now had to have the siding repaired in 7 locations. We paid him to replace all the damaged wood on the home. In doing some recent remodeling we tore out the cieling in several areas to find water damaged plywood that he never replaced but charged us for. He did not install the proper venting in the roof we had a contract for so Im sure we will have major problems with ice. One of the doors he installed is sagging and will not even lock. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this hack. The only way to recoup my damages is to sue him as he is not even properly insured.

Shortly after, the technician (Jeff) called me back extremely upset, claiming we were "bugging" them, and stated that the owner instructed him to cancel our job and process a full refund. I explained that this was our first phone call today to management and we were simply looking for a timeline since we hadn't heard back all weekend. But he refused to listen, claimed he told us to wait until Monday (which is not in our call recordings or my notes), and canceled the service. Very unprofessional conduct. We suspect this company is discriminatory due to us not sounding like we are from the area and being based out of state. We also paid for our job, but have yet to receive a full refund.

I went on the roof with him and he noticed damage in some areas. My insurance company sent out one of their inspectors and he noted the damage. As always my insurance company nickel and dimed the situation to do the bare minimum of repairs. The Restoration Guys know what they are doing, they got me a full roof replacement . It took some time and some fighting with my insurance company, but they guided me through the process and in the end the whole roof was replaced for just the cost of my $1,000 deductible. It looks great! And I highly recommend them Just be patient through the process.
