We came to visit the San Diego area on 4th of July. Most restaurants were closed so we came to Yelp and discovered Zen Curry. Manita was our waitress. A very sweet and attentive person who took care of our order. She suggested some dishes since my sister in law had never had indian food. I ordered chicken mango curry, my husband and sil ordered chicken tikka masala, and my mom had a lentil soup. Everything was amazingly delicious. A guy with long hair (did not catch his name), came over and taught us how to eat the nepali way, pouring rice on the plate, then the sauce and meat on top and told us to use the naan as our spoon. Every staff member had something nice to say. Doya was at the door, offered anis candy and we left. Restaurant is very nicely decorated and very clean. All in all a great eating experience that we definitely recommend, and we will be back next time we are in the area! Thumbs up! read more

We've been wanting to try this place for a while and it didn't disappoint. We had the lamb pumpkin curry (sauce is really good but maybe lamb is not for us). My favorite dish and the most delicious chicken I've had for a while is Malai chicken. Very tender chicken in a mild creamy sauce. Loved it. The kids had the ch Kirk tikka kids plate and my 4 year old love it! We also had the cauliflower appetizer and some garlic naan. Thank you for beautiful place and delicious food. read more

Our first time in today, and we were incredibly happy with our experience! Our server, Issam, immediately made us feel very welcomed with how enthusiastic he was, and he was very happy to give recommendations and some background on Nepalese dishes. We tried the chicken momos for the first time, and they were absolutely delicious! We also got the butter chicken curry, salmon tikka masala, garlic naan, and mango lassis. So this was my first time here and it was great. Me and my kid order chicken and shrimp Tikka masala, basmati, garlic naan, mango lassi, and tandoori chicken wings. We played it safe with the spice level and got mild but was able to get some hot sauce to increase the spice level to expectations. Everything was delicious and came hot. Not to mention our waiter Issam her was great and friendly with his service. He made sure that we had everything we needed. I asked about ranch for the wings and Issam came back and stated " there no ranch but I tried to see if I can make it for you" which I thought that was a above and beyond gesture. Today was our first visit here and our server Pradeep was very friendly and gave great recommendations! He also brought out sauces to complement the dishes we ordered and all were on point! We ordered the crispy roasted gobi, lentil soup, cheese naan, tandoori chicken, chicken biryani, and gulab jamun. The roasted gobi was so delicious! The entrees (tandoori chicken and biryani) were both very good, some of the best we have had. The gulab jamun dessert was also delicious, I would definitely order it again. From the moment you walk in the door the service and the staff are impeccable. The atmosphere is welcoming and calm. We placed a reservation just in case for Saturday night crowds, but were able to sit a bit before our reservation time. The hosts and the wait staff are so knowledgeable and friendly they immediately make you feel at ease if you're nervous to try a new place. Issam was our server and he was so kind. His knowledge of the menu and his suggestions were spot on. Tonight we tried the Saag paneer, butter chicken, samosas, and yak. All of it was delicious! The food came out in a very timely manner, and served to perfection. The flavors knocked it out of the park, and honestly made me find a new favorite spot for saag paneer. Poor service on Friday evening 8/2024. The food is decent. It took the waiter 30 minutes to bring us water. Then the food came out we never saw our waiter. We asked for condiments, and we never got them. Hell, we were only 2 people! None of the waiters came to help except a busboy. We rarely go out for dinner. The service was horrible. We saw a manager or owner who never even acknowledged the wait times or the poor service. NO EXCUSES! The bathroom is disgusting. We won't be back. Good luck! read more

Ordered a catered dinner for twenty from here to celebrate my daughter's graduation. Hari was very kind and responsive to special requests. He delivered the food to our vacation home himself. The quantities were very generous and the food was excellent. Everyone, from my 6 year old niece to my 75 year old mother, really enjoyed the meal. The momos, cauliflower and channa were big hits and the kids loved the cheese naan. Really appreciate all of the help to make this special occasion such a success. Was craving Indian food but haven't really enjoyed any local spots since our favorite sold their business. We tried this place with no expectations and instantly thought this place must be good when we walked in and the place smelled amazing. The decor was elevated, and the staff was extremely nice. We think the owner greeted us but not sure. If it was him it was a nice gesture. He was wearing a suit jacket. Our waitress was so attentive and gave great suggestions. We asked another waiter for ice and without hesitation he immediately helped us with our request. He didn't go tell our waitress like most waiters do, he helped us even though we weren't his table. The place was fairly busy so it wasn't because he didn't have a lot to do. 10 out of 10 on customer service. Pricing was cheaper than other places I've tried and the food is 10 times better. 10 out of 10 on food. We don't have enough variety out here so please give them a try!
