It's a classic counter-service setup with indoor and some outdoor seating. I tried the Steak Filet Mignon Kabob Rice Plate; the meat was flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with their garlic and tzatziki sauces. They also have sumac chipotle and mango chili at their self-serve sauce bar. Portions for my plate were fair for the price...the flatbreads and burgers I saw, looked big & yummy. Everything is made fresh to order here, so expect about a 15-minute wait if you walk in for takeout, but you can order online ahead of time. I noticed a few people swinging by for quick pickups while I waited, so that's definitely the way to go for next time I get takeout. After attending the Yelp Elite Experience, I just had to come back with my hubby and Coco our Samoyed. They are ok with service dogs sitting inside and there was a lot of outdoor patio seating in the shade which I liked because you also get a nice BREEZE... This place was a little off the beaten path in Old Town but boy is it good! Their falafel is excellent. I had a gyros salad and falafel. All people in our group really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and attentive. You order up at the counter and then the food is brought out to you so this is a good place to take a group that needs separate checks or to pay separately. I was taken care of very well by Sarah, the owner's daughter. We engaged in friendly conversation and she told me a bit of her family history. The fries in the gyro fries were perfectly crispy, and the toppings of feta cheese, guacamole, and gyro meat made it super filling. The samosas were also very good, especially with the sauce they came with. The grilled chicken was juicy, fresh, and full of flavor. The grilled veggies were a perfect addition, and the rice paired really well with everything. Recently, while visiting Old Town Temecula, we happened upon Kabob Shack. They are off the beaten path-and the sign indicated that they had recently opened. My first observations were~the outside dining was clean and wrapped around the front and side of the building. The windows were sparkling clean-something many business' do not pay attention to. We were greeted warmly by a young lady, who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Since we had never been in before, she welcomed us and answered our questions. We both ordered the Pita Wrap. The inside and outside were clean and inviting. We sat outside to enjoy the fresh air. The owner, who was also very friendly, delivered our food. The portions were generous. The food was hot and fresh. Needless to say, the Gyro was delicious. We were both very pleased. I would have to say, I think we found a new place to enjoy! The gyro was lean and a little crispy on the edges, nicely sliced, with very excellent flavor. The accompanying sauces added a variety of flavor as well. This is my second time eating here. The first time I took my food home for my husband and I to eat. I got two Gyro's to go. I live in Lake Elsinore and they travelled very well. I got there before they open so I waited in the little patio area outside. Had a chance to talk to the owner while he was setting up. Love how passionate he was about his business. Came back a second time with my best friend she is a foodie like me. Of course I had the Gyro again it was as awesome as before meat was seasoned perfectly and lots of it pita did not fall apart while you ate it. Nice option if you don't want to be at a sit down restaurant and wait for a server. I got the gyro plate that came with rice, grilled veggies, salad, and pita bread. I added on a side of their spicy chicken, zaatar fries, hummus with extra pita, and baklava. Gyro was tender, pita bread was soft, spices on the chicken and zaatar fries were flavorful, and they gave so much hummus! They had a dispenser with four different sauces --the tzatziki and garlic sauce were my favorite. The cashier was super nice and friendly. Answered all my annoying questions about the menu and their restaurant. She also convinced me the baklava, imported from Turkey, was good and she was not lying! It's the best baklava I've tasted. I ate what I could and the next day, shared the leftovers with my coworker. Everything still tasted amazing! Total was a little over $40 which is not bad at all considering it made about 3 servings and I have hummus left over! There are seatings inside and on their patio. They're right next door to the Matcha Place and Gambling Cowboy in Old Town Temecula on Fifth Street --so parking can be a bit tricky but I was able to get a spot in their center. It wasn't too busy when I arrived, but things picked up shortly after. The location is right off their main street, which is great but parking can be a bit limited since it's a popular area. I ordered the chicken kabob plate and a gyro plate. Both dishes were really flavorful! However, I did notice that the gyro meat was sliced very thin, which made it a bit dry. On the bright side, their sauces were delightful, though I found the garlic sauce to be a bit too mayonnaise-heavy for my taste. Tonight I was in the middle of ordering my dinner online and bam it shut off. I headed over and was met by the most incredibly kind worker. Kellan was so kind and explained that there's cutoff for online orders 30 minutes before closing. They were closing down and Kellan made me feel so welcomed and jumped into action of taking my order and preparing my food, without hesitation like most places are nowadays around closing time. I walked in and out to talk to my older daughter in the car and every time I walked in I greeted with a warm hospitality from Kellan. My family already loved the food here but Kellan made us appreciate the kabob shack even more! I did let him know how much we love their food, but it's hard to find a parking spot. A 20% gratuity already programmed when it's a self serve order. Gyro meat sliced very thin and was not very generous. The Pita was very fresh and good but was overwhelmingly too big.
