Do not go by yourself to this place. When we told the lady at the front counter that we were using Groupon, we were told that they do not accept Groupons on Sundays and only Monday- Thursday. Very disappointing as it was not in the fine print or posted anywhere, just told it is their policy. But we were already there and got sucked in to getting massages done there regardless. We paid full price as we were unable to use Groupon. Additionally, the lady at the front counter made us pay before the massage. The massages were good and have been going to this place since they opened. The customer service has completely degraded over the year. The lady at front counter is belittling. The head spa was great! When we were checking out, again with the front desk girl... she was upset I only charged 20% lol. She was rude. But the ladies who gave us the actual service were great! This spa is truly lucky to have her. She seems to actually love her job and cares about providing wonderful service. I took my daughter for her birthday; it was her first massage. It was a good massage for me. As for my daughter, the man was sniffing and yawning throughout the session. He even sneezed on her. He was very rough, and she left with a headache. We both laughed it off as we felt relaxed; however, when we went to pay, I gave the tip I thought was deserved. They did not like my tip. They insisted I give 20% of the regular price, not the discounted/Groupon price! I just went this afternoon 062624 for a 1pm 90-minute Zen Signature Head Spa with scalp analysis. I am speechless. I would compare this to a massage I would get at the Mall. I don't believe the massage therapist is licensed or certified. The descriptions of what you are supposed to get is not what you actually get. I paid over $129 (and it's supposed to be 50% off the usual $258)but, what I got was only worth about $40. Sadly it is hard to know this unless one experiences it. I don't believe the reviews are real. Their advertisement and description makes it sounds better than what you really get. Keep in mind good reviews can be purchased. I learned my lesson and sadly this has turned me off to these types of establishments. It is plain not quality work, I've had many spa treatments and this was the worse. They don't tell you what the scalp analysis reveals because she doesn't speak English. But, what is says is very very basic. I've had a scalp analysis before many years ago in Chicago and it was described in detail what I need to do to keep my scalp healthy. Very nice woman but, when she said,"it's good, scalp good." Full body massage. I went here with a friend for my birthday. I booked it a week advance. They texted the evening before to confirm, to which I replied that yes I will be there. 15 minutes before my appt, I get a call asking if I could push back my massage by 30 minutes. Absolutely not. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appt time and I was told that they'd be just about 5 minutes late. Which was true. So not bad. My masseuse was "Susan". She was very good with good pressure. The problem is that I paid cash including the tip before the massage. Susan earned every penny of it but it occurred to me afterwards that she probably didn't get the full tip because she didn't speak a lick of English so I had no way to communicate to her how much I left at the front desk for her. I had an old frail tall guy that came in STILL CHEWING FOOD over me while he started massaging me. So gross. I asked for harder pressure multiple times and instead he just slapped me around a lot. I got a full body 90 minute massage and it was poor. The massage therapist did not seem well knowledgeable of techniques and the bolster under my legs was so soft I actually left with more lower back pain than I came in with. There are always exceptions, so I gave it a second shot for the head massage and wash and was less disappointed; however, it was not as relaxing as a typical blow out with my hairdresser. I called and scheduled an appointment for a massage and a facial. Nobody took my name, nobody took my phone number, didn't ask what type of massage, etc. It raised a lot of red flags, but I figured I would give it a try based on reviews. I was about 20 minutes early, but didn't mind waiting in the lobby. There was no one at the front desk but a sign that said to call a phone number. I called the number, somebody answered in a whispering tone and then came to check me in. I sat in the waiting room and the lady running the place came in and told me that I would have a male masseuse. I thought I had told her I preferred female over the phone. She told me there's no way because they purposely don't ask over the phone what gender masseuse you prefer. I realized she was right, they didn't ask me. She told me there would not be a female available. When I declined the service, she said there might be but she would have to wait to find out if they were available. The story changed multiple times, very wishy-washy on if they could accommodate my preferences. After all the red flags, I just didn't feel like it would be a good fit. I was getting nervous for my appointment, the lady running the place had a very nervous energy and something just didn't sit right. When I thanked her for her time and got up to leave, she stood in my path of exit and would not let me go. She offered me a discount on services and a gift card. She was begging me to stay. I had to gently touch her shoulder to urge her to move aside to let me out of the waiting room. Then she followed me to the parking lot. The atmosphere was comfortable and the people were super friendly, however both of us began experiencing an itchy rash everywhere the oil was used after the appointment (and i mean everywhere). My friend and I came to Zen Day Spa for the Deep Scalp Therapy treatment, and unfortunately, it was far from relaxing or worth the hype. The spa looks clean when you walk in, which gave us hope but the experience went downhill quickly. It began with a "Scalp Analysis" that lasted less than a minute each. We were shown a photo of our hair and given zero explanation. It felt rushed and uninformative. Once inside the treatment room, we noticed the bedsheets were torn and looked pretty unsanitary. From what we could tell, it was basically a massage and a shampoo, nothing special or therapeutic about it. The service had promised a complimentary foot sauna and massage chair experience, but we were never offered or given the chance to use either. We were asked ahead of time to bring cash, so we did, and we tipped what we felt was appropriate for the level of service received. But the receptionist seemed very unhappy with the tip amount and asked us multiple times why we didn't want to tip more. She even asked us to stay in the lobby so she could go get the therapist, and both of them confronted us about the tip in a very uncomfortable and demeaning way, pressuring us to give at least a 15% tip. She was physically standing between us and the door, so I ended up giving a couple more dollars just to get out of the situation, but even then, they were clearly not satisfied. This was supposed to be a relaxing experience, but instead we left feeling uneasy and taken advantage of. Would not recommend. read more

I did a couples massage for Valentine's Day and my partner and I were seriously underwhelmed. I really expected a lot more from this place. There was not much communication between me and the masseuse. She asked me the pressure I wanted for the massage and I responded with somewhere in the middle. Throughout the massage however it was very inconsistent and mostly a hard massage that I am still sore from hours later. We also received two different types of treatment. His massage was not as rushed as mine. My partner also was not marked by the cupping we got but I was significantly. Granted, I have sensitive skin and he does not. However I feel this was partially due to the rough and rushed massage I received. Next, there seemed to be a bland ambience in the room. There was not any music or relaxing sounds. I get derma-facials every six weeks with my licensed esthetician and her upper body massages are much better and relaxing. Finally we finished and my partner and I agreed we were not very satisfied. Therefore I paid and I refused to tip but my masseuse was peeping over my shoulder and coerced me into tipping. I usually tip and so I gave her and her coworker $10 tip. When she saw this as she was still glaring behind me she stormed off. This really ruined the entire experience for my partner and I. so I walked into Zen spa yesterday to check it out was looking to do the spa scalp treatment and get a blowout and I made a reservation for both myself and my girlfriend for the next day and I specifically asked him you guys do do a blowout because I needed a blowout, that's what it said actually they do a blow dry. It's not a blow up but because my wrist is broken I wanted my hair shampooed and blown out but this was a deal for 50% off with a facial massage and blow dry your hair. Well it was a fluff facial, they cleaned your face they put a little mask on rub your scalp shampooed it for a while, put the steamer on you and did a very quick massage on your arms and legs. Mine was very light. My girlfriend said her gal was rough hurting her. I'm like we should've switched because mine I could barely feel , they rinsed for like five minutes which was very nice. It was 90 minutes long, it was under the steamer and then I'm wondering how are they gonna blow out her hair do they take us to a different room but they put two stools out and grabbed blow dryer and started drying your hair with the fingers after they combed it out ,while my girlfriend is curly hair. I asked do you guys like use a brush because her hair is going to be a big puffball and they're like they don't speak very good English and my girlfriend said I have a round brush because they just had a regular brush but they weren't going to be doing an actual blowout like I asked. It was just blow dry your hair rough and we were going out to lunch so might well we'll just put it up in a ponytail, so it's a nice place. They have a lot of rooms. It's very clean. Very nice people, believe to shampoo since I am a cosmetologist, you have to have a license which I'm sure they both do not have nor do they know how to blow out your hair if you're looking for just a little bit of relaxation and a fluff facial get your hair, washed to go home with wet hair and do it yourself. I told the man at the front desk that I came in yesterday and asked if they didn't actual blowout and they said yes I told him you need to let your guests know it's not a blowout. It's a rough dry and if you want someone to teach these people how to do a blowout I've been a hairdresser for 45 years. I can give them classes, but I don't think they're even cosmetologist or aestheticians that do skin care, but wanted to try I did it. I won't go back. read more

horrible first visit. I first request an appointment online and decided to call since I didn't hear back. I went in asking for a 90 minute massage. The masseuse comes In and I am thinking is she smacking gum? so she starts the massage close to my head and sure enough she was chomping gum. the first 5 minutes I was focused on her chewing her gum I thought this is going to be horrible if I don't say something so I finally said are you chewing gum? she said yes does it bother you I said yes the smacking is not relaxing. she left room to spit out. then my phone kept vibrating with someone calling I almost stopped massage thinking there was emergency with my kids. nope it was the spa asking to come to my appointment not realizing I was in the back getting a massage. ok so she finishes the massage I look at the time and she only did an hour.
