On a solo vacation and deciding to do some things for me, I called and was lucky enough to get in to Zen the same day! I had an awesome massage therapist (I hope I'm spelling this right ..Sia) . She listened to my needs and she worked on me for 2Hrs! It was worth EVERY PENNY! She is a beautiful soul and really is blessed with such a talent! I went in because I had fallen a few months back and my knee and hip were hurting. She worked on my knee and it already feels soo much better. She also told me how to massage that knee at home when I am perhaps watching TV or before bed! I will surely take her advice. She also found my left back shoulder blade was very tense! She worked on it and explained that the stress from my left knee had not only affected my left hip but also my back left shoulder blade! I could feel the tension and she worked to get the knots out! She was so patient and amazing and my shoulder blade also felt better! It is amazing how one injury can affect other parts of our body! I really love this place and the massage they do! The entry is always bright, cheery and welcoming. Nataya has become my favorite masseuse here. She is really good at finding the spots that are most in need of work. I'd been recovering from a broken foot and had a lot of muscle pain in my hips and legs. Lert me start by saying that I do not like massages. They do nothing for me. This is only the second massage I've ever received. It was fine. I did this for my wife, a couples massage, which was a total surprise for her on our trip here. She adored it. She regularly goes to day spas and such. So, basically the review is from her. I received a massage from the friendly Thai owner who was very skilled and had very good bedside manner. I requested a deep tissue massage and received a beautiful Thai influenced but still more western style massage with oil. ( she worked through the sheet for the first several minutes doing some very good Thai warming prepping techniques.) there are also bars on the ceiling and she mentioned she can do some work with her feet which I'm eager to try. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. All these ladies are incredibly sweet, patient, and accommodating. Amy performed my massage- I walked out feeling like a new woman. She was incredibly skilled, assessing each site and applying such rejuvenating and healing techniques. Just the right amount of communication and "checking in" with me before proceeding, encouraging me to speak up if I wish to modify anything she was doing. Out of all the massages I had in my life- this was the best. I do not say those words lightly. Past massages I have had at other places were lackluster, generic, lazy, or too superficial. This was perfectly comprehensive, individualized, and technical. It was so healing I actually found myself unable to hold back a smile at some points. It blew past massages out of the water. This is absolutely one of the best massages I've had ever. The facility is new, clean, and has a peaceful restorative vibe. I did online scheduling via their website which was very easy. Parking in Healdsburg was also easy. I specifically went in to get a stiff shoulder worked on, but I was given a balancing full-body deep tissue massage that also focused on my shoulder. My shoulder pain was reduced 95%, and that is about all you can ask for via massage therapy. ZEN MASSAGE AND WELLNESS feels luxurious without being over-the-top fussy, and the massage work is effective and healing. Wow! I'm a retired masseuse with training in lots of modalities including Thai . The second I walked in the door I noticed how immaculate & hygienic the place was. The vibe was holistic and relaxing. I felt like I was in a high end hotel mini spa, but better . The cool lighting, the "off the charts" comfortable massage tables, the linens, and the music was awesome. My massage person was so skilled and listened to my needs . She did some stretching I had never experienced. I can't wait to go back. Their level of massage is like medicine. I have been wanting to try this place out since its so close to me. I noticed that they are fairly new to the neighborhood so i wasn't sure what to expect. They certainly did not disappoint! My masseuse was also very kind and would check in if i was comfy when she would see me adjust my posture. I booked a 90min Swedish massage and the stress (a.k.a. Knots) on my back definitely went away. The pressure was perfect and the whole process was smooth. I love getting Swedish massages and this is by far the best one I've had. Zen Massage and Wellness is legit. I came out to wine country to enjoy a relaxing weekend finding hidden gems (wineries) and in the process, I ordered a few cases of wine. Part of the experience visiting the Sonoma and Napa valley is also finding a Spa that really knows how to relax, stretch, and workout all the knots. It is quite stressful driving from winery to winery. As a result, I had high expectations for Zen and boy did they deliver. Having spent a few weeks in Thailand getting daily deep tissue massages, Zen spa did not disappoint. They worked out every single trigger point, loosened the muscles ton my neck, and more importantly, worked out the knots in my back and and removed the lactic acid in my legs. Their techniques are tried and true and will surely leave you feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.
