Went here last minute yesterday as I needed to get my nails done before a trip. The woman was rushed even though there was an hour and half left before closing. Wasn't busy. Worst part of the experience was that she didn't even scrub well leaving dry skin on my toes. NOT callouses. Just normal dry skin. Very disappointed. The manicurist did a good job. I tried Zen spa today because I couldn't get an appointment for a pedicure at my regular salon, Bronxville Nails. I'm giving it 2 stars because the polish on my toes looks good. :) However, this was the most rushed pedicure I ever had - the foot massage lasted less than 60 seconds, the scrubbing of dead skin was about 20 seconds (and inadequate since there is still rough skin on both heels) and there was no offer of a neck massage while sitting and waiting for the polish to dry. Now I know why Bronxville Nails is always so crowded. They give a generous massage during the pedicure - set a timer (I believe it's 5 minutes for each foot), do a thorough job on getting rid of the dead skin and offer a quick neck massage while you're waiting for you nails to dry. Next time I'll wait for my pedicure appointment at Bronxville Nails. Will not go back to Zen Spa. read more

Zen spa is the only place in town to go. I have been a client for ten years. Helen the owner is fantastic. Warm, welcoming and totally professional. Everyone who works there is friendly and accommodating. The spa is immaculate any time I go which is of utmost importance. I went in for my regular manicure and halfway through the owner tried to change manicurists on me because once of her regular clients( who came in much later than myself) requested my manicurist. I could not believe how rude and unprofessional they were. When I objected they let my manicurist finish the job. Most professional salons would have just told the other woman to wait until my manicure was completed I most definitely do not recommend them. Rude and mediocre manicure. The best Mani and pedi I have ever had. They are very clean, and the pedi chairs are amazing. I bring my own tools and polish (I'm a germ freak and never like to share that stuff). Their (30 min) massages are also wonderful. My feet and back always feel so great after their massages. read more

I have been a patron of this establishment for over two years. Today I went in to get my eyebrows waxed and was sent to a back room to wait for over twenty minutes without any indication of the wait time. I then had my face around my eyebrow and eye area completely burned by the woman who was helping me which I did not realize the extent of which until after I had left. However, not only did the woman burn my face, there is no noticeable change in my eyebrows (did not wax them very much) and was not given any apology by the woman, or the woman at the front desk, who I assume was the owner. Do not go to the nail salon. They tried to charge me $17 for a $12 manicure. The front desk manager was rude. Thankfully I checked the price list and saw that I was being substantially over charged. There wasn't even a $17 manicure item on the pricelist. They tried to say they were charging me for the polish - funny I brought my own polish pulled it out of my hand bag in front of the manicurist. DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS HERE. For that matter....I would suggest not patronizing this place at all. My mother gave a $90 massage gift card to my wife for her birthday in Aug 2014 a month after giving birth to our daughter. My wife wasn't able to find time to use it the first year and as her birthday approached this year, she thought she'd use it. The owner only gave her a $25 credit for the value of the gift card pocketing the other $65 and shamed my wife into paying after the massage was finished. I went to Zen for an intimate wax and was very disappointed with the result. I went to discuss this with the manager/owner who, rather than handling my feedback discreetly, raised her voice at me on the shop floor and humiliated me in front of her entire shop and staff. I was disrespected and shamed for expecting a certain level of service. Apparently I was the first customer to ever be dissatisfied and Zen Spa enjoys many return customers. I have to imagine this is true because I certainly cannot imagine how they would ever bring in new clients. read more

It's been over a year and the bald spots in my eyebrows have yet to grow back. I went to have my eyebrows waxed in January of 2011 and I don't know if the tech was new and inexperienced or just incompetent. I should have thought something was odd when she didn't give me a mirror to look at my brows when she was done but I was in a rush and had to leave quickly. When I got home it was as if my eyebrows barely existed. I went back the next day and the worst part was that they refused to take any responsibility for the terrible job their technician did. It's one thing to make an error and another to not own up to it. I wasn't as upset then as I am now as there are certain spots in my brows that never grew back and the areas that did the hair is very light and sparse. I can't speak to their other services but Caveat Emptor when it comes to eyebrow waxing. Given their attitude, I wouldn't recommend going there for any of their services. read more

I have been patronizing this business for over 8 months. The service and treatment I receive is usually spectacular. However today's experience was quite different. Usually when your services are complete, a technician gathers your stuff, walks you over to the nail dryers, gives you a brief neck rub, and checks in on you to get you out the door (assisting putting on the saran wrap, charging, etc). I noticed this time, this was not done for me, nor my daughter. When I raised my concerns with the manager (the owner's daughter) she said she understood- yet made no attempt before I walked out the door to remedy my concern. She was actually quite dismissive. When I called her after I left to reiterate my discontent, she tells me that "they did their best to accommodate us since we did not make an appointment and they were very busy," implying and basically justifying that is why we did not get the same treatment. I replied "If that was the case, then when I mentioned what services we wanted, why were we not told since we did not have an appointment and they were busy, those services could not be done?" The manager then goes on to explain to me that their regular customers understand and never complain. I could not believe that this is a manager telling a paying customer this. To this, I explained to her that I sat and observed countless customers that walked in and did not have appointments yet were given the usual treatment I am accustomed to. The manager just reiterated that she is sorry I feel that way and remained defensive. I further explained to her that if as a costumer who, despite what she believes, regularly supports your business establishment is expressing to her how I feel-the last thing she should be is dismissive to my concerns and defensive. I do not know if I will return to this establishment, which is unfortunate since many of the staff members, especially Chris and Linda are really wonderful and considerate, no matter what the color of your skin is, the amount of money you spend, etc... For today's services alone I spent $300- and another $560 in the last couple of weeks for massages for my sons, and my nail services. Maybe some other establishment would appreciate my business and respect when I raise a concern. read more
