    Chicken bento.
    Wil W.

Had the chicken bento. Looks like the usual items. I wasn't too thrilled. I asked if I could sub out the gyoza with two or three vegetable tempura. I was willing to pay a bit more if they did but was flat out denied. I'm just a bit conflicted with some of the reviews left from others. They got great service. Mine was not so much. Bottom line, here's my review. Chicken was cold on some parts. Dressing on salad was a turn off. One of the sushi chef sneezed right on the sushi prep board. Not once but twice without covering his mouth. I was not happy and quite frankly disgusted. I paid and walked out.

I noticed this place was fairly new, so I decided to give it a try--and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant itself is small, but feels cozy. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Poke Salad was fresh and generous with the fish, which we really appreciated. I asked for my Crispy Tuna Rice to be extra crispy, and they happily accommodated-- it came out perfectly crunchy and flavorful. I also loved that the plate was filled with all that crunch, my favorite, which was an added bonus. My Albacore Delight with crispy onions was also yummy. I also really like that most of their rolls come in 4 pieces. It's the perfect portion for me--no need to commit to a full 8+ piece roll, especially if you're trying multiple items. Plus, it keeps things affordable since each 4-piece roll is only $7. Mine even came with 5 pieces, which made me extra happy. As if the food wasn't enough, our server surprised us with 2 complimentary pieces of Salmon Chips loaded with my favorite crunchy toppings. And then--on top of that--he brought out a cute little orange fruit dessert for us. I honestly can't remember the last time a sushi place spoiled us like this. The icing on the cake was when the owner/chef came out to personally ask how everything was. We told him how much we loved the food, the accommodations, and the complimentary items. He was incredibly kind and genuinely appreciative, which made the whole experience feel extra special. I've already bookmarked this wonderful little spot as we'll definitely be coming back.

A new place in Brea! A few things to consider: Their sashimi was pretty good size cuts, value for the price solid. Their sushi rolls, the presentation was great! They are half sized rolls (4 pieces) so it's a really great price. But, I found the rolls we ordered were a bit drowned in too much sauce and the rice was a bit mushy. It could be an off night. Definitely go there if you want decent sushi for great prices. Their service was really attentive. Because it's a new place, the chef sent out some complimentary items such as fried tempura bananas.

Every roll made fresh and did not disappoint! Big mouthfuls LOL not the biggest place which I prefer and the service is good. They play music and give a complementary orange at the end, cut very cute and perfect to cleanse the pallet

Stopped by for dinner as we were leaving a WaterPolo tournament. Was a bit skeptical at first, restaurant was empty and a little warm inside. However, the food was amazing and so was the service. The young man serving us was on top of things. Food came out quickly, we were served our drinks promptly and the boys got some nice little treats. Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

I finally tried this place after my daughter said it was worth a try since she's been there twice. We went today after work and no one was there except the Chef and his daughter helping out as a server / cashier. Food: * ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box with the crunch roll . There was a lot of food to my surprise and tasted good. * ordered Takoyaki- Good * ordered Soft Shell Crab- Good * ordered Lobster Roll- Good Chef prepared a surprise dessert for us! Thank you!! All of the food items we ordered tasted good and will be coming back to try others on the menu. No complains. Service: server and chef are very nice and attentive. Ambiance: it's fine. Not too big not too small. I hope the foot traffic increases and people give this business a chance. There is a lot of competition in this plaza.

Friend of mine told me to find a place for dinner to meet up at that was halfway between him and I, so I got on Yelp and found this place based on the reviews. Traffic on a Thursday evening was horrific but I made it. Parking was effortless as I was lucky and able to find a spot out front no problem in the small strip mall it's located in that Apple iPhone took me straight to Got there late so upon walking in so these are my immediate take aways from the experience. Place is small. Walking in we were the only table that night in the restaurant from 6-8pm there, which was kind of odd. Guess it was a slow day. There is one guy behind the counter making all the sushi (not Japanese) and our server (not Japanese.) They're both Koreans which I thought is kind of funny because I bet most people dining won't even know. After getting the menu the server immediately asks what I'd like to order. Well, obviously 1. I haven't looked at it yet and 2. I told him it was my first time there so I need some time to read the menu, but skimming the menu I asked if they have loose leaf green tea or if it's in a tea bag. He said it's in a bag (meh) but I felt rushed so I said I'd just have that. My friend told me they don't sell alcohol but I wasn't planning to drink anyway, and had already ordered and invited me to try the gyoza before it got cold, so I unopened my chopsticks to try that before the server came back with my tea in a large, clear beer stein and asked me again if I was ready to order, so I just skimmed the menu and ordered because I'm not really into looking over a menu when someone is standing right tf there waiting for me to order. His English wasn't fluent enough for me to be able to communicate to come back so I made my decisions on the spot to get it done. Someone mentioned the low prices. True they are $8 a roll where other places are double that price but when I got my rolls (baked lobster and my usual dragon because I like unagi) they were half the size of a normal roll (see picture). Baked lobster had a lot of sauce on it and not enough lobster in what felt like that overpowered the taste of what lobster was on there. Dragon roll was decent - just basically it seemed like a California roll without cucumber topped with unagi and eel sauce. Presentation was good though so I'll give them that - almost didn't even notice the chip on my plate because my eyes were distracted by the cute umbrella, lol. So really, they're just normal price but it's half what you'd get so you gotta order 2 rolls to get 1 serving anyway. Not a bad thing because you get variety, but let's just call it as it is there is no deal or value as another reviewer mentioned. Aside from that food was good, attentive and friendly. If you're some kind of sushi snob then I wouldnt say it's "authentic" but for what it is, if you prefer rolls this place does the job. I can't remark on bento boxes or the other items on the menu, but if I was in the area I'd probably come back.

    Salmon skin salad

Delighted by this quaint sushi spot, I was looking for a light bite to eat and my salmon skin salad was perfect. The owners are very friendly and I got greeted with a smile plus some comps. Coming back to try their fish collar, eel, soft shell crab, fried banana dessert

Let me start with the fact that we were so disappointed when we saw that sushi box had closed as it was our favorite sushi spot in the area. I drove by one day and noticed the sign of a new spot and I was curious. My bf and I were wondering if it was just a name change or fully different. I will say that it is NOT just a name change as the management is different and the menus are different. That being said, their food is very similar and it reminds us of sushi box. The place looks like almost nothing has changed and it has that familiar cozy feeling to it. Their rolls now are sold as half rolls so you get to try more and they offer less things than before. Their dish presentation is still very nice and their food is very fresh and tasty! They are now opened during the middle of the day and on Sundays. My only call out is that their liquor license is still not in effect so no alcohol. The staff is very friendly and welcoming! We love their riceless rolls and have a couple more to try. I love soft shell crab and was excited that they offer it and it also comes inside the spider roll! Their baked rolls are sold tasty with their delicious sauces, but the rice can come a bit apart on those. We love their spicy tuna as it is fresh and spicy but not too spicy. We have been here twice since we realized that they "reopened" and can't wait to be back and continue trying their menu.

    Pepper salmon sushi
    Younkyung K.

This is my second visit today . My first time, I ordered the spicy tuna roll and pepper salmon sushi, and today I ordered the pepper salmon sushi for my daughter. The seasoning isn't anything extraordinary, but the salmon slices have decent thickness and a nice torch-grilled flavor. The variety of fish isn't extensive, but if you can find what you're looking for. It's a good deal and is worth coming regularly.

Actually amazing, all the staff was so kind and checked on us regularly. The sushi was so filling and exquisite. The dining area was a good size and not too loud. Definitely going back to try more!

Known got the Jessica and the Tiger but forgot the other haha

Love the little spot close to home with great sushi and amazing service. I'm excited they have Japanese beer Whoohoo. Chef Peter is awesome. I went in today after work to get some sushi to go, had an asahi while waiting and they kindly brought me some yummy warm lightly salted edamame to go with my beer. When I got home the presentation for the to go sushi was beautiful and very delish, yum he even gave a little extra piece of each. The orchid flower was a beaut! Oh and extra ginger so good. Thank you Chef Peter and kind assistant!

Plain salmon roll, baked scallop roll, super spicy tuna roll and on top, we got chef's pick and complimentary cucumber salad!

We waited almost 40 minutes for our food, which was frustrating enough. I ordered several pieces of salmon and yellowtail nigiri, and every single one had wasabi hidden underneath the fish. There was no indication on the menu, and our server never mentioned it. My mouth was on fire, but what upset me most was that my son also took a bite and had the same experience. Plenty of kids eat sushi, and customers should be told if wasabi is already included under the fish. When I brought it up, our server apologized and initially said it wasn't supposed to come that way. Then the owner said it was intentional. Another owner tried to tell me it was "traditional" and "common," even though it wasn't disclosed anywhere. Instead of acknowledging that customers should be informed, I felt like they were trying to convince me the problem was mine. They also brought us our roll 45 mins later that was mostly avocado with very little fish and missing cucumber which only added to the disappointment. To their credit, they did remove our bill, and I appreciate that. However, by that point the experience had already been soured by the lack of communication and the way our concerns were handled. A simple warning that the nigiri is served with wasabi under the fish would have prevented the entire situation.

Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu.
