Had a big poke craving and saw this place with high reviews. Came about 45 min before closing so end of day ingredients were prob not the freshest? They do give generous portions, but we found the rice was a bit hard and seaweed topping tasted off in a too-fishy way. Our bowls were okay, but not great. I love this poke spot! It's a lil hidden, off the beaten path, but it's the only place I really enjoy getting poke! Mom & pop run it, they keep it clean & well-stocked. They truly take pride in getting the best quality ingredients & keeping the place super clean. They're always so nice when people have questions & they're verry generous with the helpings/ scoops! Since it is a mom and pop shop, they do close earlier than other places, but it's definitely worth your time. It's in a shopping mart with ample parking. I am a poke lover but my bowl here was disappointing. The rice was cold and hard. The salad tasted unwashed. The topping options do not appear that fresh and you can especially taste it. I couldn't finish my bowl, specifically my tuna because it felt suspicious in my mouth. The crab meat is very dry, chunky, doesn't separate that easy. They limit the amount of toppings you get depending on the size you order. The bowls are very pricey for said limitations. The bowl was overall very dry and lacking flavor. I got ponzu sauce but it tasted like there was nothing on it. One good thing I'll say is they serve very generous portions with the specific toppings or proteins you can order depending on the size bowl you get. Ordered a strawberry watermelon drink, it was not good. Tasted very artificial with a lot of cut up strawberries in it that didn't fix the artificial taste, I couldn't finish it. The best way I can describe the drink is like a boba fruit tea that had been sitting out all day in the sun with too much syrup. Whoever helped us was so great with recommendations, the portion sizes were very generous. Yes the prices were a bit high, but you truly get what you pay for. Even when it came to wrapping up our food, it was wrapped so carefully with extra precautions to ensure nothing spilled. It's rare to find that level of love and care at most businesses. My husband and I were craving poke while we were in the North Orange County area and found our way over to Poke Ave. There was a lot of selection in terms of items required to build one's bowl, pricing was fair for the generous portions, and service was friendly. As first time diners, the establishment left a great first impression. Poke Ave is located off of Imperial Highway in Brea and can be found in a small shopping strip. There is free parking for customers shared among the other businesses. My husband and I both ordered poke bowls; a regular size and large size, respectively. The proteins were fresh and of good quality. The lady assembling the bowl was extremely generous with all of the fixings. We had a delicious lunch that definitely filled us up. Their Garlic Lemon Creamy sauce paired nicely with my salad-based bowl. We are adding Poke Ave to our list of places to stop if we're craving poke in the area. Went here for a quick lunch break on an in-office day and it was a decent experience. It's your typical poke spot where you go down the line choosing what you want in your bowl. Service was quick and you even get free miso soup for your poke bowl order, which was great!! The miso soup was tasty, really enjoyed it. As for the poke bowl, pretty decent portion. I got the regular (3 scoops), which had a good amount of fish (salmon and tuna). I got the Loco ll, which was okay. I think it's sriracha base? Not entirely sure but wasn't a fan, I ended up dousing my bowl with soy sauce. I did get the wasabi mayo on the side, I should have honestly just got that to be my main sauce. Next time tho. A cool and unique thing this place has is you can make your own ramen. Kinda like a ramen convenience store, you choose your ramen and they have hot water for you to enjoy it. They have all kinds of different ramen to choose from. This is one of the more decent poke spots around OC, I recommend and I'd be back again during my lunch breaks. read more

Wasn't really greeted welcome. I was looking at the menu above on the wall, I asked if I can see the size of the bowls & she said it's all the same. I said what do you mean, she said just less scoop.. all other poke shops I've been too had different bowl sizes so this took me by surprise. She said small is this much scoop and I said okay, how much is it (cause it wasn't on the wall menu) she pointed at the glass window in front of me & said it's right there. I thought that was rude like how am I supposed to read and scan everything, I've been reading the board. She seemed to just want me out. She said sides, I picked all of them like I normally do & she said you only get x amount and I'm like wow okay.. I paid, got my water cup & sat down. It was just bizarre customer service. Then when I assume regulars who came in cause they knew how to order, she had a smile on, she said welcome & thank you! She said if you just come here it's cheaper than ordering online I'll make it fast. It was like she was a different person lol I hope she treats others who don't know how to order there with more respect. Me and my wife came to eat here for lunch. We had a great conversation with the owner who does all the work without any employees. Service was fast. Food was great and relatively cheap. Inflation is causing everything to go up but it is still $16 for a poke bowl here. She didn't not raise prices for at least 2 years judging from the pictures of the menu on yelp despite prices being raised on her to run the place. Last stop before I brought lunch back home was this new restaurant that serves my daughter's favorite...POKE . There was designated parking just for the restaurant,which was cool . The restaurant was very clean and all the food not only looked fresh but was delicious! The staff was super helpful and friendly especially since it was my first time there. I appreciate the variety of sauces, protein, and toppings they offer. They also include a complimentary cup of miso soup with the purchase of a bowl. Not only is the food delicious but the service is amazing here, the owner is very friendly and extremely helpful. I've mentioned that I'm going to the grocery store before dinner and she carefully wrapped my bowl with an ice pack to ensure it remains fresh. The restaurant itself is not very big but there are a few tables available so you can eat inside. I haven't tried anything else to be honest but only because their poke is so good. Wow, just wow! I am so glad I tried Poke Ave! I am always looking for good Poke places and this is probably my new favorite. From the moment I walked in they were friendly and fast. The quality of the fish was great, all the ingredients were tasty. The mix of sauces they recommended was absolutely perfect. I loved the little shop vibe of the place, very clean. They don't push you to get a drink, offered a water cup right away. I got the regular sized bowl and I sat in the restaurant they gave me a free Miso. Which was not so surprisingly amazing also! To top it off I had some left overs, the woman asked me if I was able to get in refrigerated right away, I am not I drive for work, she gave me an ice pack for my food so it doesn't so bad. I no longer recommend this place. My husband and I ordered our usual poke bowls online and there were many ingredients missing (spicy mayo, eel sauce, furikake, sesame seeds and much more). The miso soup was FOUL. I'm utterly shocked because we truly used to love this place. The worst part is my husband had food poisoning for 2 DAYS after eating his poke bowl (which contained salmon and tuna). He said the tuna tasted off. When we asked for a refund, we were only given $10 back on a $55 order. Not to mention, the owner tied the to go bag at checkout so I didn't notice the missing ingredients until I was home. She then drilled me 5 times that I shouldn't order online, I should order in person. I'm beyond disappointed because we used to love eating the food here but I will never eat here again and recommend people avoid this spot. read more

My office is nearby so my coworkers and I stop by to pick up lunch quite often. It's in a pretty small plaza but we've never had trouble finding parking. We actually almost always park right in front of their door each time we go! The same two people are behind the counter every time and they're always extremely friendly. When I say they give you big portions, I mean it. They're extremely generous with their serving sizes, from the add-ons to the fish. The amount of avocado they give you is almost half of a whole avocado. The fish is always fresh and they give you BIG scoops. Then, they offer you a free miso soup! I can confidently say that this place started out as "the poke spot closest to work" but it's now one of my absolute favorites! read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was so horrible that it motivated me to write one. The moment I walk in, there's a middle aged woman standing there staring at me without any proper greetings. Since she was just standing in front of me and staring, I felt pressured to order right away without getting a moment to read the menu and when I tried to ask questions, such as the bowl size (how was I supposed to know that all the bowls are the same size? Actually read another negative review about this) and additional toppings, she gave me an attitude when answering and always added "it says it on the sign right there" at the end, basically telling me just read the sign instead of bothering her. It's my first time at the restaurant and I'm sorry I didn't have the entire menu and additional signs memorized in my head. Maybe if she gave me a moment to breathe and read the menu and look at all the toppings when I first walked in instead of being on top of me to order so that she can go back inside to sit and chill, I wouldn't have to bother her at all by asking any questions. I felt so uncomfortable the entire time I was ordering and my husband who was with me said he also felt intimidated and uncomfortable by that lady's attitude. In fact, we felt so uncomfortable that we didn't even want to eat inside. We took the food and ate it outside. The food didn't even taste that good. It was very bland... The customer service. The lady yelled at me because I did not follow her instructions. I ordered ramen first time there you have to make your own soup. They have these ramen machines. All I understood was add water so I got water from the wrong place and she was like what are you doing??? I said press number 2! Did you put the seasoning in??? Totally caught me off guard.
