I went in for a consult for the Xerf treatment and was extremely happy with my first impressions of Zena Medical. The facility is easy to access with plenty of parking. When I walked in, I was greeted and helped right away. The facility was clean and the waiting area was comfortable. Austin was so friendly and thorough with her assessment of how the treatment would work for me. I decided to make an appointment for the treatment and try it even though I may not see huge results. The office itself is very unprofessional--although everyone was friendly over the phone, I got misinformation from 4 different individuals who I spoke to about scheduling and a deposit. I was left waiting on a zoom call for half an hour and then told an intake zoom wasn't possible for the procedure I wanted. When I asked to look at my schedule and get back to them when I could come in person, the office manager said they needed my paperwork and a deposit to schedule the appointment that I had been told was already scheduled. I said I would do the intake paperwork if they have a Docusign or another link to do it since I'm out of town and they said it was not possible. I said I'd call back after looking at my schedule and goodbye and the office manager hung up on me. I've dealt with multiple Newport Beach offices and none as unprofessional as this. I hope they're able to figure out the miscommunications internally! read more

Dr. Gabriel and her staff were all so nice and helpful. She took time to really consult with me and analyze my skin. Typically I have dermatologist push a lot of different procedures on me and take 5 minutes really talking and explaining things. Dr. G really took her time and listened to my concerns. She's told me things that no other doctor had time to tell me. This was my visit and although she didn't mention any facials at this point, well, I am an OC girl and want to get some done anyway. I cannot recommend this business enough. I was seeking some sort of skin boosting service, and I met with Laura. I was interested in lasers or energy devices, or both. I am in my late 20s and just want to improve my overall skin tone and start to bank collagen. Laura actually talked me out of a couple of services that would have been more expensive and intense, and recommended the Lutronic ultra laser with a vbeam spot treatment for my skin and goals. The fact that she recommended a service that is actually less expensive than the ones I was interested in initially speaks to her high level of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction. I am coming from Los Angeles, and she even recommended an appointment time that would help me beat the traffic before and after. On top of that, all of the other staff I interacted with were extremely professional, and I even got a follow up call to check in on me in the day after my treatment. I had an amazing experience at Zena Medical. Four days before my wedding, I could feel a huge cystic nodule forming on my chin! When they come, they get red and huge and take weeks to fully heal. I called up Zena Medical and after hearing my story, I was given an appointment immediately. I was seen by Dr. Ring, who is beautiful both inside and out, and she gave me a cortisone shot in the nodule. I had sculptra done. The first session was amazing and I was very happy with the results. At the appointment for the second session, I told the doctor I did not think I needed sculptra any longer because I did not want anymore volume in my lower face at all. I thought I would need a different type of treatment for my under eye area. The doctor had me sit in a chair facing a mirror and show her the exact area I was talking about. She was also looking into the mirror with me and confirming she understood and agreed with what I was saying. She said she could still take care of my concerns with sculptra and she would leave my lower face alone. She ended up injecting everything in my lower face and doing nothing for the area I wanted. I feel the doctor did not listen or pay attention to the words I was saying and then proceeded on autopilot to do the standard she probably does for everyone. My cheek hollows are over filled and my smile is forever altered to a negative outcome. I went in to speak to her recently because I'm upset every day I catch a glimpse of my reflection. I feel she was minimizing the issue with me. She tried to say it's been a year so I would age anyways. It's only been 6 months and my face would not drop to this extent within that time frame with typical aging. She was comparing photos and not taking into consideration all of the volume that sits/moves different on my face now as I laugh, smile, and speak. Photos do not always show the nuances of 3d items, like a face. My smile is no longer beautiful as it once was and all she was concerned about was that I look fuller. I do not care to look fuller if it takes away from my attractiveness. I now look about 5 years older and 8 pounds heavier when I smile. I'm giving 2 stars for the first session that looked amazing, and the fact that I should have forcefully stopped her after her first injection during the second session because it was obviously not where I wanted it. I admit I was intimidated and felt insecure to say anything at the time so I own some responsibility. read more

Walk in and you instantly feel glamorous! The waiting area is beautiful and looks like a spa. I'd recommend coming here in the morning and try to get one of the first morning appointments. By about 10 AM, the waiting area was full. The examination rooms are very clean and neatly organized. The staff is professional. The service here is top notch. I'd definitely say that ZENA Medical is a prime example of you get what you pay for. Most every service here is more expensive compared to any other dermatology/aesthetic office I've ever been to, but the quality and service is amazing! I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review - but here we go! I started seeing Barret because I wanted to try Botox, fillers, maybe laser skin treatments... I reached the age where it was time to take my skin seriously. When I arrived to the office I was greeted by their welcoming front desk staff. Samira is such a sweetheart and made me feel comfortable before going to the exam room. Now onto the treatments. OH MY GOSH Barret is so knowledgeable. I had her give me a skin evaluation and talked about my skin needs and worries. She was so receptive and I felt like she really listened to me. I trusted her right away and she was so warm, walked me through everything and answered all of my annoying questions. She has a background in surgical and cosmetic dermatology and I could tell in the thoroughness of her answers. The best part is that her bedside manner is matched by her skill with the needle!! My Botox looked natural and gave me a little bit of lift, and it was almost painless. She also gave me some natural looking lip filler. It was just enough to look full, but not duck lips. I've seen the same doc for botox for 15 years. Since he hasn't reopened his practice yet and I needed some botox, I asked around to my gorgeous friends and one of them recommended Dr. Gabriel. I was able to secure an appointment with ease. The office was super clean and they are adhering to the strictest safety protocols for covid. Dr. Gabriel was very communicative. She told me what her recommendations would be for me but then said that we should stick to what/where I have been getting botox and "get to know each other" before venturing into other places on my face. If you haven't heard about Rachel and the magic she does with Accufit, then trust me when I say that she is incredible!!! I purchased a package for my abs about 6 months after having my third child and I could hardly believe the results. The Accufit tightened/flattened my abdominals/obliques and helped me lose a couple inches in those areas as well. After the 4th session, I was able to fit until all my jeans from pre-pregnancy. I also noticed a decrease in my lower back pain as a result of the increased strength in my core. Rachel was so encouraging throughout the process and made sure I got the results I was looking for. I've been getting facials since my teens and have never had one by someone as fabulous as Carlyn. My aging skin still gets breakouts and usually after a facial, it gets a little worse before it gets better.
