For me the most important quality is the fact that he is honest. He doesn't perform work that does not need to be done. I get the sense more and more these days that services are being performed by mechanics and sadly even my doctors that really are not required. I never have this fear with Rafi. The second quality which is important but for me not nearly as important as the first is the fact that Rafi's prices are reasonable. Most recently, our garage refrigerator died when we were out of town and we returned to a disaster. We wanted to get a new refrigerator as soon as possible but it was clear that the way the refrigerator plug was jerry-rigged that it really needed professional attention. My wife called Rafi, explained the situation, and he came out that afternoon to install a new socket box. We had two other issues for him to address at a later date with respect to two of our ceiling fans. With respect to one of the ceiling fans which is making lots of noise Rafi simply showed us how it could be adjusted so that the fan would not make noise. With respect to the second fan which was wobbling he explained that to repair it would not be cost-effective but he could do a minor fix which he did so that at a lower speed the fan would not wobble that much. If we could live with that we would be fine. I think there are some electricians who would've replaced both fans. Not Rafi. I cannot say enough good things about him and the services he has provided for us over the years. I know this sounds like a paid commercial announcement but Rafi does not even know I am doing this review. And after all the years I have been on yelp I have only done two previous reviews. One for an upholsterer and one for a shredder, both of whom did excellent work. So, my praise is not easy to come by.

We were very happy with our experience here. We were helped by Tedi and Enie and would like to shout out their flexibility, great work and quickness on our lighting project. We were able to first have an in-person consultation for them to review the scope of work and they gave us a very reasonable quote on price and time. From there, we were also able to schedule a work time over the weekend which was very good for us as during the week it would disturb our working from home. It was really convenient that in picking out the new fixtures, Tedi went shopping for the parts and texted us pictures for us to pick in real time. The job included installing several light fixtures, removing an old chandelier for us and patching in all the holes they needed to make for discovery. All in all, I was very happy and impressed in their flexibility; at each step, they offered different routes in how we wanted to go in the installation--it felt that they really wanted to satisfy what were looking for. This is an update to a prior review from 2020, which goes to show how long we've been working with Zenith! We recently closed on an older home that needed significant work - and with a tight window to get everything done before move-in, every contractor had to deliver. Zenith Electric not only delivered, they made the entire project possible. They handled the largest job on our list, completed it on time, and folded in additional work for our HVAC installation and other needs without hesitation or complaint - all at a reasonable price. Every single visit they showed up on time, communicated quickly, stayed calm under pressure, and collaborated seamlessly with the other trades on site. Called to have a NEMA 15-40 outdoor rated outlet installed. They showed up to provide a free estimate and gave me a few options to choose from which was very helpful. They provided a quote with all the details very clearly laid out in writing and were very responsive to a few questions I had about the process. Looks like this will be their first negative review. My parents are old and frail. My mother has had a couple of serious falls. I called Zenith based on their Yelp reviews & asked them to install a movement sensor on the indoor staircase so that a light would come on at night. The electrician showed up, said he would find the necessary parts and call back to do the work. Then he flaked. No calls, no parts, no work. It's been several days, now, so it's back to the drawing board to find somebody else to do the job. read more

Arvin is the man. He did two jobs at our house. The main job was installing an outdoor 240v charging port for our electric car. He and Grigor spent the extra time to make sure the wiring and conduit wrapped smoothly around the house and under the deck. The second job wasn't even initially on the list, but he managed to bring a dead outlet in our kitchen back to life. Even our landlord hadn't figured that one out! I was having problems with my electrical. I called Zenith electric and come to find out my main breaker had melted in the panel. Being a very old panel they recommended to replace the panel and they gave me a price that I couldn't say no to. They took care of everything from that point on. He originally quoted me $2,500 for parts and labor. He first asked for a $500 deposit to order the unit, then later claimed he was picking it up and needed another $800 to finish paying for it. I sent him a total of $1,300 through Zelle and Apple Cash. On the original installation date, August 7th, he canceled 10 minutes before our appointment because of a family emergency. I was understanding and agreed to reschedule. He then failed to follow through again, and I even called out of work for the rescheduled installation--only for him to not show up. After taking my $1,300, he completely stopped responding to my calls and texts. I have repeatedly asked for either my $1,300 back or the AC unit I already paid for, and he has provided NEITHER. At this point, he has $1,300 of my money, I have no AC unit, no installation, and no response. I gave him multiple opportunities to make this right. Do not give this guy money upfront. Based on my experience, I would NEVER recommend or hire him.

When we bought our house in 2019 Roy's crew did a new panel upgrade to 200A and ran new 240V lines…read morefor HVAC and jacuzzi and connected to new solar. In the contract was also a 240 line for an EV charger under the house so that it would be ready for hookup once we bought an EV and he verbally assured me it was there, ready to go, and he could hook it up once we bought the charger. When we bought an EV in early 2024 we discovered that there was no 240 line in place. But after several weeks of cajoling (my calls and texts were incessant), he did make good with sending a crew out to run the line that was already paid for 4.5 years earlier, and to his credit he did ONLY charge for the cost of connecting the charger (which was understandable). But rather than a single run line of #6 with 60A circuit as is recommended for this charger, his crew ran a cheaper setup of 40A breaker with #8 wire but no dedicated conduit, connected through 2 junction boxes near each end. Also, they connected the charger to the 40A circuit but did not set the charger to a maximum 32A charge as it clearly says in the charger's manual. So within a couple of months charging at 48A max charge, the wires burned up, which seems like a major fire hazard that could have burned down our house. A different electrician saw that they had not set the maximum charge on the charger correctly and said they should have at least warned me to do so. His crew came back to have it fixed but they only replaced the wires going from the charger to the nearby junction box and didn't say anything (again) about max charge but I looked it up and set the max to 32A myself and had a different electrician check it was done correctly. Even still, a few months later, the problem repeated, with the wires burning up in the junction box (see photos) and now he is saying he is only willing to repair the connection inside the junction boxes again but will not redo it more safely as a single run. I can't trust that it won't burn up again with the current setup using the junction boxes (which seems like a fire hazard!), so I now feel I need to pay someone else to redo/correct his crew's work. He was barely responsive when I first contacted him in 2024 to ask where the line was that he promised, but when he did finally come through... he did it on the cheap. He was barely responsive when I pointed out the problems and fire hazard a few months later but did finally come through. And again more recently he did not respond for a while but was finally responsive. But he only offered to repair something in the same way... that has already broken 2 times. I will give him credit for not totally ghosting me and he did make some effort to make good on the contracted work. But ultimately Roy did not come through with solidly-performed job but rather has decided to cut his losses and just do the bare minimum. Disappointing.

Vartan gave us several options and costing to resolve. He didn't try and push any one option but did a great job of explaining the pros and cons of each. We went with a panel upgrade and a total house rewire. Vartan was on top of the project from day one. Permitting could have been a lengthy delay but we got it in a day, in large part because Vartan worked with the inspector directly and took the initiative to ensure both his and my responsibilities were carried out in a timely fashion. He and his crew were punctual, polite and made every effort to minimize the impact they were making on the house as they ran the new wires. Cuts in the drywall were clean circles and they even saved the inserts to facilitate patching once they were done. Communication with Vartan throughout the project was very straight forward. He was very flexible about our specific needs for the house and replaced bedroom lights with ceiling fans and added a living room light at no extra cost for the labor. He made sure he understood what we wanted for our new home and went out of his way to make sure the wiring and hardware were a good fit. His total cost was very reasonable and the lower of the two bids we received for the job. I will be using Vartan and his crew for any future electrical needs and giving his details to any friends asking for an electrician referral. He ran into some minor issues due to some sloppy, lazy work done by a previous "electrician," but he managed to resolve those issues. A couple hours later, he was done. The job looked professional, clean, and exactly what I wanted. East West is a family-run business and they treat their customers with respect and honesty.
