Thai Fried Rice (combination & spice level 5)
    Amma P.

I ordered the combination Thai fried rice and wasn't what I expected honestly. The fried rice just needed a little more flavor and the rice was too soft for my liking. Zenna before isn't the same as it used to be as this used to be one of my favorite to-go Thai/Japanese restaurants.

This is proof of it lying about its business hours

Came during business hours and they are closed , this is the only zenna in the area so yu would think it would be ran correctly but it's service and employees are poor piece of crap , Lambchops are delicious tho ..employees turned off all lights to avoid work while getting paid

Happy hour is undefeated here ! Love this spot for some good sushi and nigiri. Zenna used to have multiple locations but I believe this is the only one standing. I'm truly grateful because this is a forever gem. Service is always attentive and courteous. Staff here are knowledgeable of all the menu items and polite. I enjoy each meal which usually include the spicy tuna roll, salmon nigiri, and Philadelphia roll. I will also throw in a Long Island ice tea to set the mood right . My type of vibe here . Please come check this spot out and enjoy a great meal.

I haven't been back in years cause it was terrible last time. BUT! They've redeemed themselves. My partner and I were hungry and he had never been and since this place opened late and I told him about it. When we arrived, we had plenty of parking space. This place used to be such a hot spot that parking was hard and towing's enforced. Anyways, their sushi is not very good. It used to be better but I don't know what happened- no longer very fresh and they seemed to skimp on the fishes. Soft shell crab was underwhelming & falling apart. The crab was tiny and barely anything. The boat noodles' delicious and so was the panang sauce. If we were hungry at late night nights again, I'd come back for the Thai food- much better!

Overall Rating: 4.0 (0 = good, X = bad) 1. Atmosphere: O Atmosphere was quaint, not much to say about it, standard and fair. They do have live music courtesy of musician Joe during my visit which either hate or love but I enjoyed it personally. 2. Service: O Their standout if anything, the waiter was exceptional. Very kind and quick to tasks. Also if it's your birthday they do give you a free desert and musician Joe was super cool. 3. Food/Products: O Food tasted good, a standout for me was the seagull roll which was affordable for "eating out" and blew my expectations. 4. Pricing: O Mostly average or cheaper pricing than most places you'd find if you went to eat out. Seagull was like 8 dollars and I spammed 4 of them. 5. Overall Experience: O It was very pleasant, I went on my birthday so musician Joe was cooking it up and I did get a free desert from it. Aside from that, nice place to get sushi or Thai food, would recommend overall. Highlights/Recommendations: seagull roll mmmmh

    Fried Banana Ice Cream

Been coming here for YEARS, quality has gone severely down. "Warm Fried Banana" was colder than the ice cream. Such a shame, this place had some nostalgia.

My sister and were looking to try a new Thai place and this popped up. Bonus points because it's also a Japanese restaurant. Came in a on a Saturday evening for an early dinner and was surprised they had happy hour on a weekend. The happy hour is from 4pm - 7pm and it's everyday. It was too busy when we went and were sat right away. Started off with the heaven beef and chicken wings, both are part of the happy hour menu. Heaven beef was very flavorful and had a spicy sauce to go with it. Chicken wings were crispy and hot when they arrived to the table. They have different flavors you can choose from as well. The volcano roll was more than I expected, it's pretty much a full meal even though it's sushi. My sister enjoyed her panang curry and it was as paired with rice. The service was great from start to finish. Our server came to check on us multiple times, making sure we were able to get in our happy hour orders as well. Def recommend this place and def will be back to try other items.

I do not underhand the low reviews. I'll start with the only low point. It is a Thai and sushi place, but it is a bar open until 3 AM. It can get loud inside and it's not the fanciest place. But we are here god food, not decoration! Zenna has had multiple locations around the DFW metroplex over the years. The Plano location has always been the best and consistent. Service is always good, food comes out quick no matter how busy they are. The appetizers are great from the pork ribs, the heavenly beef to the unique crab Rangoon dip. One or two of these are always ordered when we go. Always have to get some kind of sushi. Rice is made great for it, slightly sweet and not bland. Fish always seems fresh. Our go t's for entrees are the peanut beef, pad see ew and pad Thai. They are always consistent and full of flavor. We will drive an hour past two other Zenna locations to go here. We have spent many a Friday night with friends here and will continue to!

It's been sooooo long since I last had Zenna & boy did I miss it!! This is the perfect spot to go when you're craving classic sushi rolls or thai food. I started with the midnight roll and it came out fairly quick. While eating the midnight roll, I also ordered a bowl of chicken tom yum soup and a plate of pad see ew. Everything came out pretty quickly all while being piping hot!! They have different drink specials everyday. & 1/2 off all shots on the weekends I believe! Everyone from the host, to the servers to the table cleaners were so nice & attentive!! They sat us quickly, served us quickly, and cleaned up as needed fairly quickly. Whether you're coming for an early dinner or late night snack, this is the place in dfw to be!! The ambiance is casual so no need to feel over/underdressed!! They also close at 3AM so what are you waiting for? GO GO GO

Absolutely not. This was genuinely one of the worst Thai restaurant experiences I've had…read more I walked in, asked for a menu, and ordered the Thai fried rice. First thing that threw me off: she never asked what spice level I wanted. Every Thai restaurant I've been to asks your spice level, so the fact that she just automatically gave me basically no spice honestly made me feel like I was being profiled based on my skin color -- like, "Oh, he's white, he probably doesn't want spicy food." Maybe that wasn't her intention, but that is absolutely how it came across. Then I go to pay and somehow this fried rice is $19 BEFORE TIP. For fried rice. Fine -- if you're charging me $19, I'm expecting it to at least be amazing. It wasn't. Then I asked for soy sauce, and they gave me one of those cheap clear soy sauce packets that basically tastes like salt water. I specifically asked if they had Kikkoman, and she told me the packet WAS Kikkoman. Girl. It was not Kikkoman. I know what Kikkoman looks and tastes like. That interaction honestly made the whole thing even more irritating because it felt like she assumed I wouldn't know the difference, which again added to the feeling that I was being judged based on what I look like. So you're charging $19 for fried rice while cheaping out on the soy sauce, and the food itself isn't even good? The rice was genuinely bottom-tier compared with other Thai fried rice I've had. It basically tasted like generic Chinese fried rice. There wasn't much Thai flavor, there was no spice because nobody bothered to ask me what spice level I wanted, and nothing about it justified the price. Between the ridiculous price, cheap condiments, mediocre food, and the interactions that made me feel stereotyped because I'm white, I definitely will not be coming back.

We went with the Tom Kha soup and papaya salad as starters and pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao as entrees. First, I'll kick off the review with a note about spice levels, when they say 1-5 this is not a time to be cute. 2 is plenty spicy for most consumers. The Tom Kha soup was honestly the best soup I've ever had! Not just best Thai soup, but best soup in general. I highly recommend it. Excellent flavors dance on the tongue with every taste. The papaya salad was okay, but had us googling and referring to Yelp reviews to see if it actually had Papaya included. It's a white variation of the fruit, so yes, it is incorporated within the salad. It's okay but wasn't the highlight of the night. The pad Thai is exceptional once you mix the peanuts in throughout. That provides the perfect blend of flavors. The Pad Kee Mao was delicious. Excellently seasoned and tasty. Again, here is where I go to the spice levels. I am someone who loves spicy foods, but at level 3 I found myself at the edge of what I would like. That said, it was a delicious dish. Absolutely loved the taste experience and would highly recommend.

Order of food received at the table: pad kee Mao, tom yum soup then pad thai Wife ranked the tom yum to be the best so far that we have tried in the Dallas area. I expect automatic inclusion of gratuity for larger groups and don't have any problem with even higher percentage gratuity, but not for a two top with a sub par service. Very disappointed. I ordered the chicken pad thai (spicy) and the Zaap combo set opting for the Zaap crispy wings with sticky rice. Located off the toll , Zaap is small inside so when it gets busy seems to be a more grab and go spot. I ordered online which was seamless and upon my arrival my food was ready and I was on my way. Everything looked good and was well packaged when I got home, I was genuinely excited to try. I made the perfect plate of pad thai, a couple wings, rice and papaya salad. The wing combo meal was my favorite. The wings were fresh, seasoned so well and I loved the garlic pieces/flakes on the wings, wished they added more honestly. The only critique is I wished the wings were actually crispy, they were kinda soft but I'd still get them again. Misses for me unfortunately was the chicken pad thai and papaya salad. I've never had pad thai before so I didn't really know what to expect but I didn't care for it overall. My biggest issue was the texture of the noodles and it was somewhat bland, the chili oil I got did help some but between the noodle texture, sparse chicken and it being lightly sauced, I wasn't a fan. Papaya salad again is new for me and just wasn't my thing, it was spiced to my specification but nothing about the flavor appealed to me sadly and I really wanted to enjoy it. I will say, portion sizes of everything was great, all my food was piping hot and customer service was good so I would come back for the wings and just try something else out.
