Shoyu Ramen. Broth in separate bowl.
    Traci C.

This place is right next to my work and my coworkers had said it was good. I had the Shoyu Ramen bowl, not spicy with pork belly. It was good. Just good, not great. It was luke warm when I ate it, and my office is 3 minutes from there. There were two pieces of pork belly, a hard boiled egg and some white things, and lots of noodles, And even more broth. It was bland. I asked for non spicy, but it didn't have much flavor. Also, expensive. $17.00 for just the bowl. No drink. The menu is big and they have sushi and curry dishes, and its super convenient so I will give it another chance, but first try is meh.

    SPICY TUNA ROLL
    Makenzie G.

I paid almost $15 for a spicy tuna roll and the tuna was the size of my pinky nail. I pretty much paid for a bunch of cold rice. And it's not even real spicy tuna. They put some Sriracha on top and call it a spicy tuna roll.

The Shrimp Tempura Roll was good, but the Kuro Ramen and Two Oceans Roll lacked flavor. The Chashu was kind of tough and the Yellowtail was bland. However, I would try them again.

    Cozy non pretentious seating

Zen Street isn't trying to be trendy or fancy, and that's exactly why we keep coming back. It's a small Thai and Japanese spot with cozy indoor seating, usually quiet, and just a comfortable place to sit down and eat without any fuss. We almost always order the pad Thai, and I'm normally the volcanic ramen guy, but since it was Valentine's Day, I went with the falling ramen instead. Still full of flavor, just without the spice level trying to prove a point. We actually showed up about an hour before our reservation, which was already early for Valentine's dinner. The moment I told Lily the reservation was under Jacqueline, she lit up and said, "Oh, she's my favorite," and sat us right away. That's the kind of place this is. Service over the past year can be quick or a little slower depending on the night, but we never feel rushed, and that relaxed pace is part of why we like it. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, and they do a great job with allergy-friendly options. There's a gluten-free menu, and peanuts only show up if you request them. Since our daughter has food allergies, she actually looks forward to when we go here and usually puts in her own to-go order. You know a restaurant is doing something right when both the adults and the kids are happy. This has become our regular spot--no pretense, no pressure, just good food and people who treat you well.

Shrimp tempura, EGG ROLLS & Tori shoyu ramen

Just had an outstanding meal at Zen Street, and this was a trio that understood the assignment. The chicken ramen was deeply flavorful with a solid, comforting broth and well-balanced ingredients nothing muddy, nothing overpowering. Every bite worked. The shrimp tempura? Light, crispy, and dangerously tasty (the kind you keep reaching for without realizing it). And the egg rolls were fantastic, crispy on the outside, satisfying on the inside, zero grease fatigue. Altogether, a clean sweep. Delicious food, strong execution, and a combo that hits from start to finish. This is absolutely going into the regular rotation. I'll be back soon and hungry.

I was looking for sushi / Thai food in the area and everyone was closed by 9 pm, this was the only one that closed late at 10 pm The Pad Thai was delicious.. good sauce and fresh veggies. Also the fresh rolls and yellow curry was amazing Mikey was super nice !

Came here for the first time, this place has a weird stink smell as soon as you walk in. We decided to stay anyways but made the whole experience very uncomfortable.I do t think we will be returning.

    Tonkotsu Pork Broth Ramen
    Rebecca G.

The restaurant js cute and clean. Our server lady is nice and friendly. The portion and presentation of the dishes are nice. However, unfortunately, the taste didn't match our expectations. The tonkatsu ramen broth was thin and too salty. The beef teriyaki is too sweet. And the extra oil made the rice on the bottom greasy. Or maybe we just ordered the items that they're not good at.

The food was amazing. It's a quaint little place that a lot of people overlook. They just don't know what they are missing. Every dish I tried was excellent. Also for Mother's Day they gave my wife some green tea ice cream. They definitely made it in house. Zen Street cares about their food they put out. Plus I understand they have a great happy hour. We will decently be coming back.

I honestly don't even know what this is. They should not be naming this "ramen" It doesn't have any flavor, the meat is dry. You can see the broth has no color. This lacks flavor.

The broth is so flavorful as well and has depth. I feel a lot of broths I've had lacked richness. I also feel like the toppings on the ramen are perfect; a ramen egg, kikurage mushroom, green onion, and the meat! The service has always been very friendly and I've never had a bad experience with any of the employees. The place itself is kept clean and I notice the workers cleaning off tables and other things as soon as they can. The restrooms are also very clean (big plus for me). That said, the quality of the food made it worth the wait. We'd definitely come back for the ramen!

There was only one staff member present, and unfortunately, the experience did not start with a warm welcome. She simply handed the menu to me and told me to sit wherever I wanted, rather than greeting us properly and showing us to a table or placing the menu on the table. While this may seem like a small detail, first impressions matter and unfortunately, this initial interaction set the tone for the rest of the experience. We chose 'Build your own Ramen' where every item is itemized and priced. I had the Tonkotsu broth with Pork Chashu which - 4/10; some part of noodles still clumpy, broth is decent and not that great, chashu piece is the only good thing, comes in thick chunky cut. While my husband got Kazi which is the dry noodles - 5/10, taste is quite garlicky however it's quite spicy for 'just right' spicy level. One thing I noticed during my visit was that the waitress appeared somewhat disengaged from her work. She had a TV show playing nearby and seemed to spend a noticeable amount of time watching it rather than attending to customers. Unfortunately, the overall level of attentiveness and hospitality did not meet my expectations. The atmosphere initially seemed appealing, with the painted wall décor giving the space a cool and distinctive look. However, the music coming through the speakers was not particularly enjoyable, as the sound system seemed disproportionate to the size of the room.

There have been times the staff seems high and blown out of their minds. Other times they are too busy chatting up with coworkers to acknowledge or provide even the basic decency of customer service. Then, more often than not you are treated almost as a bother. Due to the service here, I have stopped dining in and opt for calling a phone order to take out. On three separate occasions now, within the last 3 months, they have neglected the phones for orders. They would rather disconnect or turn off the phone completely to avoid any future orders. This comes as a surprise when in about 10 minutes of my first attempted call, I see a staff of four people, yet only one customer. I believe there was no excuse as to why they could not answer the phone. I confirmed they accept take out orders essentially until closing. I have always been mindful to not attempt to order within 30 minutes of them closing. The service here is appalling and truly diminishes their potential for how great the spot could be considering the food they have. Food on the other hand is a total opposite of the service, very flavorful and strong punch of spice at a level 3. My go to is the Wonton ramen with a miso base. Crispy rice is a great starter to share. The garlic ramen is also a great contender if you have a garlic craving. Open layout feels like a mom and pop shop. Overall pretty clean establishment. Occasional tweaker going in for the bathroom closer to the end of the night.

Yoshioishi Sushi & Ramen had solid reviews, so we decided to pivot and give it a try. First impression: the menu is extensive. It's one of those places where you almost don't know where to start. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Crispy chicken karaage: Slightly over fried but still flavorful. The dipping sauce helped. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: Just okay. One piece barely had tuna on top. Not bad, but not something I'd reorder. Cucumber salad: Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce, which surprised us, but the dressing had great flavor. This disappeared quickly. Nigiri: The salmon was incredibly fresh and one of the highlights. The albacore and toro came topped with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the salmon and albacore. The toro didn't quite melt in your mouth like we hoped. It was a bit chewy. Crazy Salmon Roll: Good flavor, but note that the salmon on the outside is fully cooked. We expected raw, so just something to keep in mind. Snow Mountain Roll: A fan favorite at the table. Great texture and flavor. Plain udon and plain ramen: Both were excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We definitely over ordered, but we left very full. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive. It didn't completely wow us, but we're glad we tried it.

Overall, the food was good, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly. I would recommend checking the hours of the specific restaurant you want to visit before heading over.
