I've eaten Lumpia from Zeny's maybe 100 times in my life, but tonight was the first time I've ever actually sat down and ate inside the restaurant. The owner, and other staff, were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. When our family of seven sat down to eat he even brought over some free rice cake dessert for everyone. It was like a cupcake of some kind and the kids enjoyed it. The Lumpia was extremely hot, fresh, and tasted delicious. The pancit was good as well, although not as hot. If you always order your lumpia and pancit to go, I recommend sitting down and eating there once. read more

Really disappointing. The soda and side order of lumpia were the best things we had with our dinner. My husband and I had been looking forward to coming here, his company will order food from here (and from Tropicana) for luncheons, so he was eager for us to have dinner here together. We had one customer in front of us, and several came in right after us. My husband and I decided to order combo plates, we both wanted pancid, but they only had enough for one serving. We were told it would be 10 minutes for the pancid to be ready. They handed my husband his plate and our side order of lumpia. We sat down to wait, I really wish they had waited until the pancid was ready and we could have eaten together. My husband stalled eating, so his food had to have been cold by the time I got my plate. My husband ordered the chicken adobo (they didn't have any pork) and the bbq ribs. I sampled his chicken while waiting (I had planned to order it as well). I changed my mind. They had chopped the chicken and left the bones in. The flavor was bland and boring. There was literally nothing special about it. My husband was disappointed, said he liked the pork adobo better and seems to think maybe his company gets that from Tropicana (we went there right after dinner -seeing as how it's only down the street- and confirmed the pork adobo he likes comes from there, not here). When my pancid was finally ready, I opted to get the Pineapple ribs and BBQ ribs. *sigh* The Pineapple ribs were flavorless, how can you even produce a product with no hint of pineapple flavor. I saw a pineapple in the sauce, I don't even understand how this is possible. The BBQ ribs were ok... the BBQ flavor was diluted, but the ribs were moist and tender. The cook on the meat was fine, the flavors were what wasn't there. The pancid noodles were cooked well, but there was a strong (not good) flavor of chicken bouillon... like the packets you get from top raman. Yuck. My husband said the pancid tasted like it does from all the other places, so I guess I must just not care for the flavor of it personally. I would like to note that their steam table is mislabeled and it's difficult to order when you don't know what is what. I also think they have the temp set WAY too high. The food took entirely too long to come to a temperature that was't going to burn the inside of your mouth. That could account for the lack of flavors, if you ask me. We didn't have any issues with the servers being rude (as I have read here). I did see a few dirty plates out on tables when we came in, and there did seem to be a lot of people on staff all in the back so that is inexcusable. They were nice enough... but the overall experience was lacking and we won't be returning. read more

I've been going to Zeny's for many years. I drive from Fresno just for the lumpia. It's just that good.

The food is actually really good. I'm a very harsh critic when it comes to Filipino food; because nothin compares to my mama's cooking. Their food has a lot of flavor, I did order the fried bangus once and it was hardly seasoned, another time I went in it was seasoned really well. The owners are really nice too. read more

The great thing about this place was that the girl was friendly & kind enough to make a fresh batch of vegetarian lumpia- which were quite large yet a bit too greasy. I also ordered a few of the coconut shrimp but gads they were horribly mushy! Another plus was that they were very cheap! So I didn't feel too bad walking out of there~ would I be returning? This place has totally changed from being one of the best restaurants in the area to one of the worst. I am sorry to see that ever since this restaurant went under new management, the service and the food has deteriorated consistently. all those Filipino dishes that I used to love when the original owner, Zeny cooked are no longer tasting the same and has lost it's flavor. Even the lumpia (eggrolls) tastes gross. The pineapple pork spareribs that the original Zeny used to cook has lost its flavor and tastes totally different. Several Filipino restaurants have come and gone in Kings County over the years, so the fact that Zeny's seems to thrive in downtown Lemoore is a testament to their tasty food offerings. First of all, it's Filipino food so it's just a given that the food is pretty greasy--you'll know what I mean when you see the droplets of oil and fat collecting at the bottom of the take-out containers. Beyond that artery-hardening heads up, Zeny's really fulfills the craving you may have for lumpia shanghai (seasoned beef, onions, carrots, and possibly garlic wrapped neatly in a spring roll wrapper then deep fried; can be dipped in an accompanying sweet and only slightly spicy sauce). What I dislike the most about their lumpia is that they are so easy to eat--a great finger food; they're so tasty and addictive, like's a Lay's potato chip--no one can eat just one. You can buy them by the dozen and as my kids get older, just one dozen won't do anymore for my family of five. Their pansit (thin rice noodles with bite-sized pieces of chicken and assorted small bits of vegetables) is also very flavorful and a favorite of every member of my family. That is truly saying a lot about Zeny's pansit and how delicious it is, because half the time my children won't even touch a dish that has anything green in it (they're anti-vegetable--I know, it's sad, but I'm hoping it's a phase). Some other notables: kare kare with beef oxtail, afretada, caldereta, fried tilapia. I can't comment on any of the pork dishes because, for religious reasons, we abstain from consuming the little piggies. They usually have Filipino desserts like turon (cooking banana and langka also wrapped neatly in a spring roll wrapper and also deep fried), cassava cake, sweet sticky rice/latik/calamai/insert-your-Filipino-town's-name-for-sweet-sticky-rice-desserts-here. They also sell drinks like Sarsi (a sarsaparilla-based soda, kind of like a root beer but with a unique sweet, oddly medicinal flavor; maybe more of an acquired taste). We lived in Hanford, so every once in a while when my husband didn't feel like cooking home-made Filipino food, we would get take out from Zeny's. It is especially good after, let's say, a day trip to Pismo or Morro Bay, as you're driving back from the coast toward Hanford or anywhere east of Lemoore, to make a quick stop off of Hwy 198 at Zeny's, Filipino cooking done well. read more

It's one of those "do I have a choice? " resto in the area so whatever is displayed (whether new or lo's) you'll just cram for your hunger. Just bec. it's a couple of hours to closing time doesn't mean that the food should go below heated temp when I dined the first time. Aside from this, the morcon's texture was like rubber when I was sold one. If you have sharp taste buds, you'll know the difference of newly cook and a typical recy's more than once food. Note how they serve food-to-go, the sauce or soup drips/spills out of the containers greasing and oiling inside-out the bag when held. They should learn proper packing though. This resto also needs to up its level in terms of presentation and appearance. Really old looking and lacks energy. Making it festive and colorful will attract more patrons fo sure ! I hope this review helps and the only thing I can promise is to bring my big family and friends (and referals ) to this resto once I see its improvement. 1st off let me be clear nothing beats the way lola's cooking or even nanay's cooking. ALSO depending on what part of the Philippines you are from/family every one has there own recipe. So I decided to come here because the other restaurant that I wanted to go to was on a break, then I realized that hey that restaurant recommended by a co-worker is down the block. I got there around 3 pm and there were 2 people ahead of me. I thought hm... that's good. Waited 10 minutes to even get up to where I could see what they had. I decided to get a 1 item combo (usually rice and pancit). So I got the chicken adobo and the bbq skewer. The adobo was brown (hm.... okay i have adobo that's been light brown but normally its a dark brown because of the soy sauce), it tasted like it came from a packet, way to many bones and flavorless and bland. The bbq was so dried out that it wasn't even funny and it had like a weird heat to it. They didn't give me pancit but by the time I realized it I was already digging into the food. I didn't want to even ask for it because after trying the adobo and the bbq I was like yeah no. I ended up eating half of it because I just paid $10. something with a bottle of coke. And they don't have sarsi in a bottle just cans. So overall I probably won't ever come back. read more
