Four of us went for dinner a few weeks ago - meant to review it earlier. Our friends dine here regularly but as visitors to the area it was our first time here. It was lively and full of people at 7pm, so it was good that we had booked a table. We ordered margaritas (2) and stivale (2) and a large sparkling water. To start with we shared six oysters, shishito peppers, and an insalata Di rucola arugula - all very tasty. For the main courses two people had the menus. Our friends had the parmigiana Di melanzane e zucchine and maiale (if I remember correctly). My wife had the barbabietole e burrrata and I had the veal scallopine. This was accompanied by decent glasses (2) of sancerre, a Tuscan and a Pinot noir. We ended with four limoncello on the house. We were happily replete but shared an excellent panna cotta. And two of us had decaf espressos. It was a good meal with congenial company and an attentive server. The check came to $351 which we split, with it adding up to $212 for two, tip included. The place is set up very nicely. It has a sort of rustic, Italian flare to it. We were seated promptly and the waiters were kind, quick and respectful. Both a great appetizer and dinner menu. Way too many good things to mention. The 6 of us ordered our assortment of appetizers and our meals...and everything was prepared wonderfully and delicious. There were plenty of pasta, fish and meat dishes to choose from...but we were very happy with our choices. Didn't have dessert...but the choices were great! Still a solid 4 stars. Love that happy hour runs all day on Sundays at the large bar counter. The blue point oysters at a $1 were outstanding--some of the best I've had in years, plump and flavorful. Cocktails, beer and wine also reduced pricing. We decided to stay for lunch. The pasta was tasty, though a little heavy on the sauce. Orecchiette con Broccoli Rabe. For my main dish, I went with the Risotto con Ragù Bianco, and it was a great choice. The creamy Arborio rice was perfectly cooked and sautéed with shredded short rib, green peas, yellow beets, Parmigiano, and a bit of peppercorn for depth. The flavor had a wonderful essence of black truffle -- subtle but present -- that added a rich, earthy note without overpowering the dish. The bar area strikes a nice balance of comfort and class, and the attentive, engaging staff made for a really pleasant afternoon. read more

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant, came here for lunch with my husband and friend. We had the lunch special with a 3 course meal that includes appetizer, main course, and dessert for $29.95, such an awesome deal. Cozy setting, everything was delicious, and service was great. I had a salad, pollo affumicato (chicken breast sautéed with marsala wine, mushrooms, and fontina cheese) and cannoli for dessert. The atmosphere here is pleasant, but it honestly doesn't compare to the Manhattan location. I will say the bread and baked clams were absolutely delicious definitely the highlight of the meal. My pasta was decent, nothing to rave about, but not terrible either. They also brought me the wrong dish at first and had to switch. What really disappointed me was the side of chicken cutlet I ordered it came out completely burnt, which was frustrating and really affected the overall experience. The service itself was pretty bad, and the quality of the food just didn't live up to expectations. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning to this location. With so many great options out there, I'd rather go somewhere that delivers on both taste, consistency, and service. read more

We attended an event here. It was good, we tried everything from two different pastas, one with pesto one with roasted red peppers. pastas were both very good. For entrées, we had chicken scarp and salmon, which were both good. I believe they should put the appetizer plates on the table family style so people can serve themselves. It's really awkward when a waiter goes around and gives you one little piece of tomato and one slice of mozzarella and is constantly hovering over you to serve everyone at the table. It also looks terrible on your plate when food is just haphazardly dropped onto it. Again, your plate is constantly dirty, and new food is being put onto it in sauces that were already there from the previous courses. Remember, you eat with your eyes first! The courses should look stunning! Either serve people pasta that's already plated or put it out family style on the table. Don't have someone going around with a spoon scooping a little portion on your plate. It's just awkward. Another strange thing was receiving coffee in a highball glass. They had run out of mugs, I guess and you couldn't even pick the glass up because it was too hot. Really weird. I'm not sure about this place. I may have to give it another try. read more

As much as I was sad that The Tap House closed, I am happy there is a Zero Otto Nove in Tuckahoe! I don't get around to Arthur Ave very much so having it within 15 minutes is a blessing. We came here for restaurant week and glad we made a good decision. I started with the Burrata, and then the chicken for my entree. Dessert was a decadent chocolate cake. Visit # 5 to ZON was on Saturday night, 5/11, prior to Mothers Day. Our new favorite server Arbor was great. He handled our 17 person table expertly. The flow of service and food quality was spot on. We were provided with the wine cellar for our group. Not sure it is my favorite spot as I like to be amongst other diners but we appreciated the kind gesture. The Italian dishes - from apps. to main courses were well presented and the portions are plentiful. Pastas, Chicken, fish entrees all pleased the crowd. Complimentary Limoncello at the end of the meal continues to be a nice touch. Arbor identified me as Marcus O the reviewer but I am sure all guests will be provided with the same high level service. We had such a great experience at Zero Otto Nove today. The atmosphere was vibrant we started off with some properly made cocktails by the bartender. Following up with baked clams for an appetizer which were very delicious. Then came our meals wow everything tasted freshly made with love. Wow, where to start? We we celebrating my husband's birthday and arrived early, so we sat at the bar and had a lovely time. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. They also have happy hour on Sundays! Whooo-hoo!! When our table was ready, we were notified and had the BEST waiter. The menu had a vast array of classic Italian dishes and appetizers. We each enjoyed two apps, and my husband it still raving about the Candelle Genovese. The food and atmosphere were outstanding, but what impressed me the most was the wonderful waitstaff! Not sure what these other half idiots that gave bad reviews have smoked - we are originally from the Bronx and have been to the Arthur avenue location plenty of times as well as this location in Armonk. This location is just as good as Arthur Avenue with the exception of not having the wood oven pizza. Service was exceptional- very attentive. Pasta special was fresh fettuccine with shaved truffle - the pasta had a delicious snap to it with the well paired truffles. Overall the food was very very good. read more

Went to Zero on Friday night. They brought us right in the back room(which I had liked at the much better restaurant, The Tap House). The room is pleasant enough and the waiter took our order. We ordered wine which was OK but nicely priced! The food, however, was far from excellent. Nothing especially wrong but tasteless. It was the halibut and was on a plate with nothing else. Clyde was beyond helpful and the shower went great! The Fireplace room is beautiful. The wait staff was friendly and attentive to a person. The food was delicious and just kept coming!! Don't be fooled! This is not the same as Trattoria Zero Otto Nove on Arthur Ave. Only thing similar is the name but the menu is completely different. They don't even serve the famous pizza the Bronx location is known for. Other than the nice Ambiance and pretty good servers, the food tastes among the worst Italian I've ever had in Westchester. On the table we had delicious bread to start, I was super happy with that. I got the branzino, it comes with mini shrimp on top. I've been to 089's Bronx and Manhattan's locations, as well as the original Roberto's, so you can call me a fan boy if you want. I've always found their food to be consistently good if you're looking for modern southern Italian food (owner is from Salerno), with a cool ambiance and gruff service. Thus I was pretty damned excited to find a location a bit closer to home. Getting into the place is kind of funny, as you have to go down a narrow alleyway; they have some mannequins set up with a bottle of wine right by the door, so you'll know if you're in the right spot. Inside the place looks more like a really nice Italian restaurant, versus the fake Italian village aesthetic their other locations have. Service was excellent and that's the first time I am able to say that about a 089 restaurant; everyone was super on top of their shit, and they were incredible nice to my 2 year old son. Drink menu is better than all other locations. They actually have a respectable beer list to accompany an great wine list as well as a few solid cocktails. I just did 1 glass of Nero D'Avola since I was driving. For appetizers we got the beets and burrata and fried calamari. Beets were a meager portion however the burrata was generous (and clearly fresh) with some seriously good arugula salad accompanying everything. Fried calamari was very well done including the tentacles; sauce could've been a bit more rich versus just spicy. I got the spaghetti Nero special, which included cuttlefish ink spaghetti, cherry tomatoes, shrimp, scallops, baby clams and breadcrumbs. It was pretty damned good. Pasta was clearly fresh and had the characteristic iodine-like taste without it being overkill. Cherry tomatoes melted and basically made a tomato broth. Shrimp were excellent. Scallops were surprisingly plentiful, however I wished they had been cooked in a sauce of some kind; only a few clams however I wish there were more. Breadcrumbs we're only a small addition but they did add a good textural contrast. Other dishes we got included the spaghetti with clams, veal scallopine, and the pasta they cook in tin foil on a grill, which all drew rave reviews. Additionally my son had pasta with garlic and oil and grilled chicken on the side (he had a dairy allergy so need to be careful) which he devoured. For dessert we got the pastiera (Italian cheese with grain and candied fruit added) and their take on a cannoli. Pastiera was very good and not heavy on the candied fruit (a pet peeve of mine), while my in-laws fucking loved the cannoli thing. Lastly my son had some fresh strawberries (again they're surprisingly good with kids/allergies). To be clear, this 089 location is on par with the others. If anything, the service is superior. Having this nearby is a Godsend as my wife loves that tin foil pasta dish, which is reason alone to return. No clue why there are so many pissy reviews here right now but that should fade with time. I grew up on Arthur so I'm very familiar with Roberto's restaurants. Maybe it's me but the Zero Otto Nove models just don't hit the mark. Nice looking places but what about the food!?! This one was so inconsistent. Calamari okay, chicken poor. Dessert ( had the cannoli) overdone with cream. The cook (no chef here) that Roberto trained has no passion. Just pushing out the food.
