ZeroZero39 Pizzeria. The first thing you notice here is that the slices are square! They cut them with shears out of a long thin rectangle of sheer baked bliss! We always test a new pie by ordering a large cheese pizza. The crust is light and has just the perfect crunch. The sauce is tomatoey and faintly sweet, the cheese is melty and plentiful! I don't want to give the wrong impression, this place does sell by the slice and the variety of choice is almost overwhelming. I am including the menu photos I took because they also make a terrific looking sandwich, and a full suite of pasta dishes as well! The seating is limited, but comfortable, the ambiance is basic but it smells like pizza so that elevates the experience! Came across this place on a Saturday night in search of something quick to eat. If you're on Main Street in HB on a Saturday night, it's safe to assume that you're out drinking. And in that case, ZeroZero39 Pizzeria is the spot to be -- especially if you have the drunchies LOL. I had noticed a sign on Main Street that said they "sold pizza by the slice," and that was enough to sell me. It was definitely busy with tons of people coming and going. The shop itself is pretty small, but there are some high tables and chairs if you want to sit and eat. While waiting in line, I began to realize that ZeroZero39 is a restaurant with a lot of history and is loved by many, and I can definitely see why. They have framed photos, articles, and silly decor pieces posted up on every inch of the walls. It was fascinating to look around and see the memories and history these walls held. My boyfriend and I decided on sharing a slice of the Truffle Porcini, our server let us know that it's their most popular item. One pizza slice is a pretty big size if you are eating alone. But for sharing -- the slice is the perfect amount if you're looking for just a quick snack. Our server informed us that she'd pop it in the oven for a few minutes, slice it up in two for us, and it'd be good to go. The service here in general is great! Both people that helped us were so sweet and conversational. We sat down to enjoy our pizza afterwards and I can confirm -- the Truffle Porcini is delicious! I'm not someone who usually enjoys mushroom, especially on pizza. But with this slice -- it actually made it all the better! We love this place and this is deserving of a review so here goes. Our skate group meets here pretty frequently to have pizza. It's a super small joint but they turn quite a bit of pizza. He has hired a great team. They are always super friendly and inviting. It's not deep dish but it's not super flat. Crust is never greasy which I love. I've never tried any other flavor other than the truffle mushroom pizza. My all-time favorite and the one I always go to when I come here . My only real negative here is the pricing. The pizza is arguably the best-tasting pizza in Huntington Beach, but the price point is a little hard to justify. Really good pizza spot! I'd never tried Roman style pizza before but was pleasantly surprised. The slices come rectangular, and the dough really stands out. The crust is fluffy while the center is crisp on the bottom and has a real nice chew. They use high quality cheese, which was immediately obvious from the texture and flavor. Consistency has been a bit of a struggle when it comes to the crust as sometimes it is thicker than it is other times, so I'm never completely sure what I'm getting but every time it taste good and that's what matters most.
