Went to tour a bit of the Gilbert, AZ area and my cousin suggested this place as she likes their Zucchini Fries & milkshakes. At first I thought I didn't want a burger as I usually make my own at home but was pleasantly surprised at the menu & ambiance. Sarina was our waitress & I asked her if the California Bowl was like a salad with a veggie burger as it doesn't state a beef patty? She said it's like a burger w/o a bun but as a bowl w/the ingredients & TOPPED with a beef patty. Oh, I see... So I asked if I could just have the Basmati Rice but it was a mixture of Basmati & Quinoa so she said she could give me more ingredients of something else like Brussels sprouts or Greens so I asked for more Greens. The ingredients are: griddled Sweet Potatoes, roasted Mushrooms, caramelized Onions, Brussels Sprouts, Quinoa, Avocado slices with a Tamari glaze. It was also topped with Cilantro & Green Onions. I also ordered an Iced Tea. The California Burger Bowl was soooo delicious with such a flavor bomb of textures, sweetness & caramelized, smokey flavors! The crunchiness from the cold greens, warm Brussels Sprouts, soft & sweet Caramelized Onions & Sweet Potatoes, plus the creaminess of the Avocados was such a great medley! Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. I can't believe we haven't been here before. We were greeted by multiple staff when we walked in. Everyone was welcoming & friendly. All agreed that our respective burgers were wonderful. I ordered a strawberry-cream soda to accompany my meal and highly recommend this non-alcoholic drink. Came here on Sunday morning with a friend. I like the decor and environment inside. We started with some frozen lemonade, strawberry smash and Peach Vanilla. Very good start. They actually came with bits of strawberries and a slice of peach. Then I ordered the Zinburger, my friend had a vegetarian burger, and we shared truffle fries. I think the fries were my favorite. Met up with a girlfriend for dinner on a Saturday night and I have mixed thoughts. I had only been to Zinburger once prior many years ago and wanted to give it another go. I went with the diner burger with a gf bun & fries & also got a frozen cocktail that was delicious! The food overall was pretty good 4/5 but the time it took to get our food and my friends to-go order was ridiculous. The server and manager came over to apologize for the wait many times but it was clear the kitchen was very backed up and they may have had a lack of servers/cooks. Not crowded when we went on a Sunday afternoon and we got seated quickly. Our server came quickly to take our drink order but it took a long time for the drinks to arrive. (People came in after us and got served zucchini bites before our drinks ever arrived. Our food came out in a reasonable time and it was good. I ordered the tuna lettuce bites and they were tasty. Speaking from someone who has grown up in Hawaii and has had fish quite often, I will be stealing this idea for my at home poke concoctions. Clean and contemporary in downtown Gilbert with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Zinburger didn't disappoint tonight. My buddy said it was one of his favorite restaurants, and although I met some other friends a long time ago at the Scottsdale location, I can't remember trying the food. We sat at a high top indoors and I was glad I wore jeans because the AC was kickin'. We were seated immediately by a smiling, friendly hostess, but were not even offered water in the first 8 minutes. We placed an order for drinks, an appetizer and three different burgers. It took another 8 minutes to get drinks, so I was pretty thirsty by the time they got to the table. After another 15 minutes all the food came out together. The fried pickles - not on the menu - were over salted. The burgers were plated well, cooked properly and delicious, but a fourth one I ordered to go was very salty. I ordered fries lightly salted and they were lightly salted - much appreciation for the simple things - and I think this might be the key phrase to use here if you're sensitive to salt like me. Our server was attentive, refilled our drinks, and offered desert but we were too full. If you offered a kids size shake, 8oz or less, I would've got one, but 16oz is too big. In a service business, when you have 6 or 7 employees hanging out talking and customers without water for nearly 10 minutes after sitting down, that's room for improvement, a simple training could easily solve that. It's Arizona - offer water immediately. Send the appetizer first and watch the salt! The only other thing I can say is that I saw two GMs on the floor and neither visited our table. read more

Came here for lunch and left with full tummies. It's such a bright open atmosphere. They're high top tables and booths and a really large patio with a lot of seating. I love the giant paintings of cows, and the rope lighting fixtures. There's a long bar with TVs if you don't want to miss your sports. They have a burger of the week and a shake of the week, but we ordered off the regular menu. We had the zinburger which has caramelized onions and manchego cheese, and the classic diner Burger with fries. The server told us that the classic diner Burger was a smaller burger, but it is not small - - just smaller in comparison to the other huge burgers. The burgers were really delicious, the fries were just fries. It's a great place to stop for lunch or dinner when you're just craving a burger! Haven't been back to zinburger in several years. Had mediocre subpar experiences in the past and hoped for a better experience this time around. I love the burger bowl and specifically love the avocado and sweet potato in the bowl. I did take it to go at curbside to go parking and unfortunately one of the best ingredients was left out of the bowl. It was too big of a deal and wasn't worth the hassle to call the restaurant and have someone come out and bring me a side of avocado which is one of the best ingredients in the burger bowl. Disappointed that somehow the avocado was left out and not included in my order when it's part of the meal. The burger bowl was flavorful and delicious but Not sure I'll give this place another try since this will be yet another issue I've run into whenever I've ordered something from this establishment. This was my first time visiting a Zinburger location and it was very tasty! To start, my friend and I got the zucchini fries and spinach & artichoke dip. The dipping sauce for the zucchini fries was ranch-like and paired very good. My favorite touch though was the small dollop of salsa on top of the spinach dip - it's my new favorite! I got the ElDiablo burger smash style and my friend got the Samburger traditional style. They also serve my favorite style of fries which was a fun surprise. So good! The vibe was like a very casual cafe feel. Lighting was perfect and very clean/neat feeling as you walk in. Seating was comfortable. Our Server was very sweet! The only thing that was odd to me was the size of the plates. As you see in the picture, the plates are very small. I had to ask for another one, which made the table even more crowded. I am disappointed that on a special day like today, I am writing a one-star review for a restaurant that I've tried before in Scottsdale and enjoyed and I recommended to my family today. We were celebrating a holiday today and my nephew's 18th birthday so we decided to stop by Zin Burger. We were a family of 15 people, adults and kids and we arrived at around 4:00pm on a Sunday. When we asked for a table, the waitress said she wanted to check with the Manager (because of the size of the group). That was ok. When she came back she said that the manager said ok, but proceeded to give us attitude by saying that we should have made reservations because "15 people are a lot for one server". She also was setting the table aggressively and said to two men in our group that "it's the law" to make reservations for large groups! We decided based on this experience to leave before she finished setting the table and we let her know that it was because "we were too many for one server and because we didn't appreciate her attitude". We walked over to Culinary Dropout and we had the most welcoming experience we could have received. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Zin. read more

I really wanted to love this place. It's on the main strip and they have outside seating with patio lights. It was very airy and comfortable. The servers were amazing very attentive. Serena was our server and she was so nice and was super helpful. It was my husband's birthday and they even gave him a free snickers shake. I ordered a root beer but after a couple sips, I wanted to change it to a Sprite and they were very accommodating. In terms of service and ambience I would give them five stars. Here is what we had. Onion rings- crunchy, cooked to perfection, but was lacking flavor. Diner burger- it was a good size because it wasn't too big and wasn't too small, but it too lacked flavor. I did like that they slightly over cook the cheese in the burger. It gave it some texture. Sambuger- the burger came with bacon, cheese, pickles and was a good size. The burgers do not come with fries. You can add them for $2.95. Snickers shake- this made the meal worth it. The shake was delicious! They had chocolate chips and peanuts inside the shake and on top of the whip cream. I think this is a limited time so run here and try this snicker shake. I think with just a little bit of seasoning this place would be great. It had a lot of people here, so maybe it was just a one off. I would come back again. I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at Zinburger tonight. I have never felt more disrespected at a restaurant. My daughters love this place, and it's one of their favorite restaurants. My college‑aged daughter specifically chose Zinburger for a dinner date with me. She is very busy and was genuinely looking forward to this time together. We arrived at 5:48 pm and were greeted right away by one of the sweetest servers, who then directed us to the hostess. The hostess acknowledged us and seemed to be training a gentleman. My daughter told her we needed a table for two. The hostess asked if we preferred to sit inside or outside. We said we wanted a table inside, please. She immediately told us there was no availability inside but that we could sit at the bar and help ourselves. This was confusing and disappointing because the restaurant was not busy at all, and there were many open tables visible around us. My daughter even commented, "They don't have tables available?" while looking at all the empty tables. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and said maybe they were short‑staffed. We went ahead and sat at the bar. While we were there, I watched a party of four come in. The hostess gave them her usual greeting, then asked if a high‑top was okay and sat them at a table inside. After that, a party of six, a party of two, and another party of four all got seated at tables inside with no issues. At that point, my daughter went to talk to the hostess and the manager because it was clear we were being treated differently. I could see the frustration on my daughter's face as she spoke with them. They tried to imply that those parties had reservations, but only the party of six mentioned a reservation. None of the others said anything about having one, and the hostess did not ask them if they had reservations. Then I saw the hostess roll her eyes at my daughter while my daughter was explaining the situation to the manager. The hostess told her, "I can explain to you how seating charts work," in a condescending tone. What makes this even more upsetting is that my daughter has been a hostess at a restaurant for the last two years. She understands exactly how seating charts, reservations, and wait lists work, and she also understands what professional and respectful guest service should look like. To have someone talk down to her as if she were ignorant, when she actually works in that role herself, was insulting and completely unnecessary. The "mama bear" in me had reached my limit. I am short, and the hostess clearly did not realize I was actually the mom and not one of the friends. I was trying to let my daughter handle it as an adult, but at that point I stepped in and told the hostess to stop lying. I had to put my foot down. Enough was enough. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, it is disheartening and infuriating to see a hostess talk down to a guest like that. Rolling her eyes, smirking, and being snarky is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. No matter what she thinks, you do not treat customers in that manner. The hostess is often the first person a guest encounters and sets the first impression of your establishment, and in this case, that impression was rude and disrespectful. The manager was also disappointing. Any good manager should have de‑escalated the situation and should never allow an employee to talk down to or behave toward a customer the way this hostess did. Instead of taking ownership and correcting the behavior, the manager allowed it to continue. We ended up leaving the restaurant and taking our business elsewhere. What was supposed to be a special mother-daughter dinner turned into a hurtful and frustrating experience. The burgers are made fresh every time to your liking but if you're not feeling like beef there chicken sandwiches do not disappoint. The happy hour selection is also a not miss. Had spot to myself pretty much from 6:30-7:00, then it started getting crowded at bar. Lots of parking within a couple blocks. Forget getting anything near this place on Friday night unless your timing is lucky. Zinburger used to be a gourmet burger option. Looking, tasting, and feeling pretty mainstream now. Decide to go with California Burger Bowl to minimize dinner carbs and ditch the bread. Bowl consists of some brown rice, quinoa, sweet potato, charred Brussels sprout leaves and unfortunately a pretty dry hamburger patty. Just not much flavor ... needs some kind of better sauce, or something else in bowl to spice/brighten it up. Did the trick of getting me something relatively good for dinner, but best thing I had was a 9oz pour of the Erath Pinot Noir from Oregon, and the bartender service. Some nutrition information available on-line from 3rd party apps, but not for the whole menu, and while a Google search indicates the Zinburger website has access to a .pdf of macronutrient info on everything on the menu, I didn't find it.
