One of our favorite dinners in Sorrento! Excellent homemade lasagna and shrimp risotto! Wonderful decor and live jazz music. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and delicious food and wine. Our waiter Angelo was simply the best. He gave us some great recommendations and we couldn't have been happier with our meals. His sense of humor and lighthearted manner were so refreshing as well. Highly recommend!! Live music, great staff and many options. We came to Zi'Ntonio on the recommendation by our boat captain, Sal (and on a side note, if you want an awesome Capri experience, lookup Salboats, it's a family run tour that allows you to either fish or spend 4 hours on Capri, followed by a meal and "momma" cooks....delicious) and two people from our hotel. The clientele is definitely diverse, but that is to be expected. My wife and I ordered pasta, see pics and then a pizza for me and swordfish for my wife. The pasta was delicious and pizza and fish were yummy but we were both too full. UNTIL we watched the staff put in tons of love into their dessert preparation so we succumbed and ordered one, see pic. It was won of the best desserts we have ever had....not sweet and the most lemon flavor you have ever had. Plus, the dessert looks like a ........beautiful creation. What were you thinking? Recommend you sit upstairs and try to watch them work the desserts....lots of love!! read more

The taste, quality, and presentation of their food was excellent. Although most servers spoke excellent English, this restaurant is more of a local favorite. Not only was the food as flavorful as anything yet during our trip to Sorrento, but I was stunned by the price of only $56 euros for 4 glasses of wine, an incredible 2 person first course of a shrimp/ pasta/zucchini in a solid Parmesan cheese bowl, and two main dishes. Tourist Trap. Stay away. After a month traveling in Italy, this was the first mediocre dining experience we encountered. When we walked in the door, the hostess, after hearing my "bon giorno", immediately sized us up and replied in English. Hard to believe, that we were then seated in an area with folks speaking American English on three sides. The food was not up to our experience in a land that takes so much pride in preparing excellent meals. Not bad, but really pretty ordinary in every sense. Service was average, with a waiter who was English speaking, a bit condescending when I tried my limited Italian in ordering. The final thing that left a bad taste was when I was handed the bill to be told "service is not included," This is Italy where you normally have a cover charge, but no "service charge" in my experience. Upon presenting you credit card, I was asked whether I wanted to include "service". I declined. I left some small change like the natives usually do. read more

I've been in Italy for almost 2 weeks and have had pretty amazing experiences for dinner until tonight. It was so bad I felt the need to take time from my honeymoon to write this. First of all, as soon as we sat down we had the waiter behind us yelling at the bus boy, the bus boy was slamming things down so loudly that I asked to have our seat moved just to get away from the noise of them yelling at each other and him slamming things down . It took forever for them to take our order and when they did the waiter was abrasive and abrupt. The food was the worst part: I ordered an €18 sea bass that looked like it had been tossed on the floor and picked back up on my plate. I'm kicking myself for not taking a photo. It was the worst presentation of food I've seen in my life, I'm shocked they gave it to me. The flavor wasn't much better. The only saving grace of the meal was the wine that we picked out. The service was so bad the family next to us threatened to not pay for their whole meal to the waiter. Honestly worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in my life. I couldn't believe the amount of Michelin awards on the window. I respect those recognitions far less now. read more

** Tourist Trap ** First visit to Sorrento, after spending a week eating at various excellent restaurants, we decided to eat here. First off, they advertised air conditioning and no cover (more on this later). We stopped for lunch, and they brought us upstairs, although we picked this place for wood oven pizza, we didn't think they were going to bring us into the oven...It was very hot. Once seated we were approached by our arrogant server, I mentioned how hot it was and he said "there was some blockage with the air, and that it should get cool soon". After we ordered our meal and noticed some chatter amongst servers and awkward looks. We ate our "ok" meal, and drank our warm water, when we asked for a cold bottle. We received our bill and noticed a $8 Euro seating fee?? I questioned the server and mentioned the sign outside stated "no cover", he casually brought me to the lady in charge at the front, where I asked about the fee, she stated it was a sitting fee, and I told her about the sign, she replied "that's different". So after a little back and fourth with no result, I angrily paid my bill and left no tip. As I was leaving, she says "go kill myself" in Italian, little did she know I'm fluent in Italian. I turned back and said my own few words in Italian and left. read more

Totally not impressed with this place. The waiters were harried and just trying to get orders in as fast as possible so that they could move on to the next table, dishes were clanking loudly as they shoved them into the upstairs dumb waiter and the service was horrible. We had the three-course special. The pasta course was great, but the Chicken Milano was straight out of a middle school lunch room on mystery meat day. The chocolate (?) cake/pie served as dessert left a bad aftertaste. To add insult to injury, we asked for some bread because the first course was taking so long, and they charged us for the bread. During the off-season, most places in Sorrento are closed. But, this place stays open and is incredible. Had 3 meals here in 3 days. The pizza is amazing, the mozzarella is so fresh, the pasta is handmade, and the sauces are just perfect! I'm obsessed with this place and would come back to Sorrento if only to eat here! read more

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. The prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious. I had the spaghetti bolognese which was superb. My son loved his fettucini alfredo. I would never order lasagna at an Italian restaurant, but my husband and daughter raved about it -- they said it was better than mine, and even better than their grandmother's! The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 was because when the bill came, the waiter actually asked us for a tip. I read (and people have told me) that it is not customary to tip in Europe, so I was taken aback. I felt that just because we were Americans he was taking advantage of us. WARNING TOURISTS: I hate writing a bad review ever. I would rather just not write it. I have to say something this time though. This was a new low - from a place that used to be one of the highest highs. Wow what a disappointment. We have been coming here for 15 years - when there was a fantastic older couple who ran this place. They were fanstastic hosts, everything was always tasty - always friendly - always 5 stars. We visited this place TWICE on this trip in November 2015. The place is like NIGHT AND DAY. After visiting or first day for coffee and dessert, we returned the second day for lunch - and was basically abandoned in the middle of our (only ok) meal. Our waiter just disappeared! And somehow we ended up with a busboy taking over our table that literally LEERED at us when he cleared our table. Before a word was spoken to this guy - it was obvious he HATED US, and apparently all the other tourists in the room. We watched him LEER and sulk over all their tables as well during our lunch. Serious! Both he AND the Manager came in and did provide EXCELLENT service to the one LOCAL COUPLE seated in the center of the room, then the manager would leave (without greeting or acknowleding the other 5 tourist filled tables) and then the busboy would leer at me and ignore everyone else. We were shocked to watch this treatment over and over. When we asked the busboy for coffee with honey. "WE HAVE NO HONEY!" he said. Unfortunately for him - we had been there the day before, and been served honey happily. So honey was there - he just didn't want to be bothered. So we wait another 15 minutes for coffee - it never comes. When I go to pay the bill - I tell the Lady with the death stare eyes that we would have ordered coffee and dessert - but the waiter had abandoned us and she says "Very busy - sorry" and then thrusts the recipt at me says "You have a problem?" and at that point the angry busboy / waiter comes around the corner giving me the "I totally hate you" glare - and I tell her - "Dude! Look at your little dude there - Thats the problem" We asked for HONEY - and He is the guy who lied to us about there not being honey - and then abandoned us. Now LOOK AT HIM Looking around the room like he wants to fight everybody!" Her look of "I could not care less" could not have been more sincere from her. "We are Busy" she said. THEN my wife comes around the corner - bending the ear of the "manager" about the same thing - and HE GIVES ZERO cares - and basically escorts her out the DOOR! "You go..." Yep We Go. EASILY the most offensive dining experience we have ever had - anywhere. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT TOURIST FRIENDY. PLEASE BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS OWNERS / MANAGERS. Do not go here. The people were nice, and that is the only good thing I have to say unfortunately. My parents and I ordered the bolognese pasta, carbonara pasta and margherita pizza. The carbonara sauce seemed like it came out of a bottle of alfredo sauce, the margherita pizza was almost entirely mozzarella soaking in oil, and for some reason the bolognese made me want to puke after about 4 or 5 bites. Located on the water at Marina Grande in Sorrento, this restaurant features fresh seafood. The seating includes a pier into the water of the marina. The atmosphere is great with white jacketed waiters and a waterside formality. The food was very good. Had a sea bass meal that was excellent and cleaned at tableside. My wife had a salmon dish. As a bonus, if you are not staying near the restaurant, have your hotel call and they will pick you up. read more

This place was recommended by some locals that we know as we have roots in Sorrento and visit yearly... we are from America ( Florida) and my father in-law owns an Italian restaurant in America, he was born in Naples Italy. This place is no better than Olive Garden! The food is not great and seems to be a bit expensive. The first night my wife and 6 and 4 year olds visited they waiters forgot my meal, when asked they said they forget and it would be a minute, spaghetti carbonara no good... my wife had the seafood risotto and said it was good.. second time we went( 2 days later) we went with my in-laws both born in Italy, again food was no good and my father in law found a pasta wrapper in his food, waiter came over and said, it happens! The only good thing about this place is the assistant waiters were all very friendly and seemed to help the kids both nights. First night 6 year olds meal was 6 euros, 2nd night 8 for the same thing!! Find something better nothing special here... read more

After reading reviews and looking at the pictures, I was pretty sure we were mainly going for the warm atmosphere. It was a cooler than night than usual for early May, so warm and cozy fit our needs. We sat at a small corrner table on the top floor surrounded by the unique wood architecture. We ordered the prix fixe' dinner. It was mediocre. Not bad, not great.
