Pasta Primavera has been our go to for local Italian food for several years. My MIL picked it for her birthday dinner recently, and as always, they did not disappoint! My husband always has their pesto Gorgonzola with chicken, and I always have my personal favorite: Carbonara. Always delicious! Our service is always friendly and welcoming, and I love that they circle around with delicious warm bread while you wait for your meal. The restaurant is quiet with cute Italian decor throughout, and with the kids love the free jelly beans that they know are waiting for them on our way out. If you're looking for quick, delicious Italian food, go to Pasta Primavera!

    Chicken cacciatore was delish!

So glad we ate there last night, 2 February 2025. It had been 25+ years since we'd been there since no longer live in the east bay and their San Mateo branch closed many years ago. Reviews both on Yelp and Google were very mixed with either love it or hate it. Very glad I went with my gut feelings. Minestrone as starter was good; not great. The mains of chicken cacciatore for me and pasta Bolognese for my wife were both excellent! My wife liked my cacciatore better than her Bolognese but I thought they both rocked. I didn't catch our male server's name but he was also great and attentive without being too visible. Super glad we ate at Pasta Primavera after soooo many years.

    Dinner Rolls !

Out to dinner with my sister. There was only one waiter. The restaurant filled up fast with still only one waiter. Unfortunately, we were quickly served our appetizer and dinner order with no dinner rolls and butter. Our drinks were never refreshed and parmesan cheese was only given upon request. It was very difficult to get the waiter attention but I was finally able to order a dinner meal to go. When the order to go came, I checked the bag No Dinner Roll. I requested the dinner roll and also requested the 2 rolls that were not receive with our eat-in meals. The waiter seemed annoyed but took the "to go" bag and returned it quickly. I assumed the dinner rolls were received and we paid a left. The following picture shows the rolls I received in the "to go" bag. Disgusting !

The portions are huge and perfect for sharing with friends or family. The servers were very accommodating and checked on us often while even suggesting a few things from the menu that we might like. The pesto Gorgonzola was so delicious! It was creamy and savory with the perfect amount of flavor. Definitely a great spot to eat if you are looking to enjoy a big meal with the people you love. Very affordable too!

Has some of my favorite local Italian food. They redid the interior some years back and it looks very classy inside. It can get a little loud in the dining room which is why I'll usually just order pick up but we went there last Friday night to dine in and had a wonderful date. The butternut squash ravioli is one of the most amazing dishes I've ever had, been ordering it since I was a kid.

    After Dinner Delight

I went here for the first time to avoid heavy traffic and I'm so happy I stopped by. I sat at the bar and ordered the house salad which was delicious and had the right amount of dressing (I usually ask for it on the side, but didn't this time). The Sauvignon Blanc was local, from Napa and really refreshing. I followed up with the Margherita Pizza. I only ate half but it was cooked perfectly! I was too full for an actual dessert so I settled for an "after dinner delight" it's similar to a Grasshopper (drink) and it was so delicious. I haven't had one of those in years. The bartender was so kind and packaged my remaining food and a tiramisu as well! I enjoyed my experience so much and can't wait to return! Great service and yummy dishes!

Blue neon arches, a huge underwater mural, plush chairs and low tables along the back wall. Worth the detour. Chris was working the bar on his second day and greeted us like a regular. I skipped my usual Manhattan and went with the Smoke Break, bourbon with bitters, smoke and black cherry. He nailed it. That is the one I would order again. Kudos to Chris for making the smoke linger and make the drink taste fantastic. I had this one in Oregon and it was cool but Chris did a better job with his method that really did serious justice to the name. My wife wanted the Cucumber Cooler, but they were out of cucumber. She pivoted to Sauvignon Blanc, and they were out of that too. The wine list runs four whites and four reds, so there is not much room to maneuver if the cocktails are not your thing. Chris read the situation, offered up a Paper Airplane since she wanted something refreshing, and put it on the house. Classic good bartending. It was louder than expected for how few people were in the room. On a Saturday with a DJ, music and dancing, I would guess the volume gets close to a rave. Go Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to hear the person across from you, and you will probably catch them fully stocked. My guess is weekends clean them out. Cocktails run 16 to 18 dollars. There is also a 300 dollar tequila and cognac number called La Maria served in a glass rimmed with gold dust, if you have something to celebrate. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5. They are on the ground floor of the Waymark apartments at 121 Pringle Ave with a small patio out front and heaters. Great spot to hang out and talk with friends, and a good pre dinner or post dinner stop rather than a destination for the whole night. When those doors shut you are transported somewhere neat. I would go again.

We liked the open windows to the outdoors as it was a nice night out. We were served chips and salsa immediately then ordered drinks. I ordered a mojito mocktail which was too lime-y. My partner got the watermelon sueno with no complaints. Watermelon is his favorite. For dinner we had the nachos with pastor which was a huge portion and the enchiladas verde. The enchiladas were so flavorful. I would definitely order this again. The only thing I didn't care for was their Spanish rice. It did not taste authentic at all. It tasted like rice a roni that wasn't cooked all the way through. All in all, we would definitely come back. This was our second time back. Maybe happy hour which is mon-friday from 3-6pm.

Fantastic drink. My friend tasted mine and ordered the same. The selection is the draw here. Whiskey lines the entire back wall, the rarer bottles sit behind wire-mesh locked cabinets, and there is a deep bench of tequila, beer on tap, and wine to round things out. One look at the shelves tells you they have the base for any drink you want. We split the Margherita flatbread, pesto, fresh mozzarella, and blistered cherry tomatoes, and it hit the spot as a drinking snack. The menu goes deeper than expected for a bar, with sliders, naan tacos, and charcuterie if you show up hungry. Service was good considering the staff-to-crowd ratio. Sevan stayed attentive the whole time and clearly knows his stuff. The vibe is chill and conversation-friendly, not too loud for the size of the room, with a bank of TVs toward the back if you want to catch a game. Logistics are easy. The bar sits a short walk from Pleasant Hill BART and parking in the area was no trouble. I've been a few times before and this visit confirmed why I keep coming back.
