Service was pretty good, foods are ok, steak is under expectation, compared with the price tags

What we ordered.
James Y.

The service at Zio's was on another level. Joshua was incredible and single handily heighten our experience. The food was very good and I enjoyed all of the dishes, but except one. Almost a perfect dinner for me. Situated on the first floor of the Renaissance Hotel, Zio's is set right near the lobby of the hotel. With a classic theme mixed with modern decor, you feel like you're in a hotel restaurant, but an elevated one. Zio's does offer validated parking if you park in the Renaissance garage. And while it's tucked away behind an unassuming bar, there are enough signs to help you find the hostess desk. We ordered the following: Truffle Arancini. This was by far the star of the night for us. The delicate hints of truffle with the extra crunch, very well made. Burrata and Beets. This was a miss. I like the idea, but I felt like the execution of the beets made it unpleasantly salty. While I understand the concept of using salt to bring out the natural sweetness of the beets, it didn't work for me because it was too salty against the delicate sweetness of the beets. I like everything else on the dish including the pistachios. Lasagna. Delicious. 20 gentle layers of lasagna was cut into fine strips and then seared on both sides. You have a nice molding flavors, which I enjoyed. Parmesan truffle fries. Well done and the truffle dipping sauce complemented the fries very well. Chocolate cake. Surprise for my daughter's birthday. Very nice and well done. The whipped cream felt home made and the vanilla bean ice cream works very well with everything. Near perfect experience for me. Thank you, Zio's and Joshua, for the experience and hospitality you showed for my daughter's birthday dinner.

Zio was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was attentive without being overbearing, which immediately set the tone for the meal. I had the pumpkin tagliatelle, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The lasagna was also very good--rich, comforting, and full of those crispy bits that make lasagna so satisfying. To top it off, they generously let us try a lemon raspberry ricotta cake that hasn't even made it onto the menu yet. The cake was soft and delicate; I would've loved just a touch more lemon, but overall it was still delicious. Between the food, service, and surprise tasting, it was truly a memorable dining experience.

Been here twice. It's an expensive restaurant, it's not your ordinary steak house. Food is good, quiet ambience and very clean. Employees were all helpful and very pleasant.

WOW! What a little hidden gem inside of this conference center hotel! The old fashioned? Yummy! The tomato soup and bread? SCRUMPTIOUS! The service? Jackie was SO sweet. So kind- and after a long day at a trade show you just need a nice server! The quality of food and drink was fabulous and the music playing was just what I needed! Also love that the entire hotel is no smoke and smelled so good- not like your typical Vegas hotel. Will TOTALLY be back!

Wow this restaurant was overall amazing on every level. The interior was gorgeous and such a beautiful spot for a dining experience for a date night, girls night, business dinner or event an event. Impeccable service from Kat, Josh and the Chef. Everyone was very welcoming. Service was unrushed. Absolutely loved hearing the stories behind cocktails from Kat and the great wine pairings Josh suggested. Every bite of food was excellent from the appetizers to the main courses to the desserts. 10/10. Cannot wait to go back and bring friends/family with me.

My sisters and I spent my 36th birthday at this restaurant. Kristian was our server during my birthday dinner. He's amazing, attentive and so kind. The food was amazing and the ambiance is classy. We loved it. Would definitely come back.

Krisztian gave the BEST SERVICE I've had in awhile! He went above beyond and I truly appreciate him. Came here for thanksgiving and they didn't disappoint. The Caesar salad was delicious and although it was cut up the way I like it; the lettuce was soft enough to cut easily. I really enjoyed the broccolini because it had a hint of spice in it. Branzino was delicious and so were the fries. Locals get a 20% discount here. I would highly recommend stopping by!

this place is a hidden gem!! we ended up trying this restaurant as it was just downstairs from where we were staying at the time. we had a reservation so we instantly got seated upon checking in. all the staff were very kind too! big shoutout to our server, krisztian! he was so kind the entire night and service was spectacular!! we ordered the caesar salad to start (super yummmy!) and then we got the 20 layer lasagna. i can't say i've ever had lasagna like this but it was amazing and tasted heavenly. highly recommend this place to eat at while you are in vegas! the decor inside is also so beautiful and the noise level is very low. they are also have a lounge/bar as well!!! thank you zio's for a great experience!

the Truffle Arancini was three cheesy crispy risotto balls, the Prosciutto Melon was such a good combo and the Pesto Bucatini

So glad we found this hidden gem! We were wanting Italian food but didn't want to venture onto the strip, this place is located near the convention center away from all the lights. They recently remodeled and I don't know how it looked like before but it's beautiful inside. The dark green accents and dim lights give off a classy, elegant look but not over the top! Josh, Kat and Chef Chris made this experience unforgettable. You get delicious complimentary focaccia bread to start. The food was a 10/10 for me, my favorite was the Pesto Bucatini and the Truffle Arancini, omg soo good! They have a bar and sort of like a lounge area next to it, not sure if this was part of the lobby or not. Also, check out their wine room before you leave.

20 layer lasagna

Tried this place our last night in Vegas and I've gotta say, we must have saved the best for last. Everything about this place was great. Service was wonderful. I wish I remembered our server's name. Apparently, he had worked there just about 20 years. Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Food was amazing. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had. My friend and I split both the lasagna and the bolognese and couldn't decide which one we liked more. We took the tiramisu back to the hotel and finished it the minute we got back. We're definitely coming back to this place next time we're in town.

Wow what an experience. A few friends and I came to Zio's for a girls night out dinner & had a fantastic time. The restaurant is beautiful inside and I loved all the open windows and sunlight. It's truly a gem located inside the Renaissance hotel. The entire staff was so friendly and knowledgeable on the food, drinks & history of the restaurant. My favorites of the night were the yellowtail crudo, truffle arancini, clam linguine, filet mignon & tiramisu. It's the perfect spot for a date night out or business dinner for after a trade show at the nearby convention center.

It is now part of the routine when I'm in Vegas. First thing that jumped out (other that the incredible ambiance) was the excellent choice of spirits for their drinks - utilizing funky rums, mezcals etc. The drinks struck the perfect balance of creative and fun but still well executed (dilution and temperature). The drinks are tasty but still have personality and a perspective. You can tell by the drink names in conjunction with tasting them - that the Prowl team take what they do seriously without taking themselves too seriously. No pretentious mixology nonsense. Everyone ended up ordering something different which made for great pictures. I decided to try the Midnight Chaji and it was very satisfying. It had matcha in it so you know I was loving it. Other drinks tried were The Alpine, Devils Dance and a couple of mocktails. A very fitting location in the Arts District right on Main Street. The drinks were all good, and thankfully they have non-alcoholic versions for many of their drinks. No complaints on any of them, they were exactly what we were looking for. I will say the prices are a little steep, but this isn't someplace you are likely to come to on a regular basis, so I can excuse it. (And if you do like the vibe and come often, you can always get non tiki drinks cheaper.) Overall very very fun, wish we had come a little later because their was a band that was setting up and got maybe three songs in before we left, but they sounded pretty good!

They even have a nice food menu where you can get some things like coconut shrimp to pair with your tropical drinks. They do have the famous Dole Whip here. We had the pleasure of meeting Michael our bartender and Yesi the bartender apprentice, and regulars Bill and Kim from Texas on one side of us, and Mario from California on the other as we spent the next hour and half savoring one luxury cocktail each and some complimentary snacks (seasoned pistachio nuts, cheesy crackers, and a little amazing bite that I can't remember the ingredients of). Welcome complimentary drinks: "Key to my heart" -- fun little rum drinks to start off with served in a spherical black case surrounded by dry ice! (See video). The only hint I'll give is that it's located on the casino floor. When we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess. She asked us if we had reservations or were walking in. I really appreciated this because the way she phrased her question told me they had availability and we would be granted entry. The bar is very small and seats about 30. Reservations are strongly encouraged, however we went on a Monday in February. If you're going on a weeknight during off peak season, you should be okay without a reservation. The hostess gave us the option of sitting at the bar or at a table. We asked her for her rec and she said the bar so that's what we chose. The decor is beautiful. The ambiance is dark and moody. It's perfect for a date night. We were greeted by both bartenders. I believe the bartender that made our drinks was Rory. He was very nice and knowledgeable about cocktails. He was able to answer our questions and make suggestions based on our preferences. As we browsed the menu, we were presented with welcome drinks in a fancy smoky container. I don't recall the name of the drink, but it had a lychee flavor with a sugar rim and it was good! Drinks are extremely pricey which is to be expected in Vegas. It's also on par based on where the speakeasy is located (hint hint). The cheapest cocktail was $30 so prepare yourself for the sticker shock. Some drinks were $80-$100! Sometimes you just have to treat yourself. I went with the Velvet Moon which was an interesting cocktail consisting of both gin and mezcal. It had flavors of hibiscus and it also had egg white which I absolutely love! The presentation was beautiful and I really enjoyed it! My friend went with the Basilico Bliss which he enjoyed. I didn't try any, but it looked really good. As we were enjoying our drinks, the staff presented us with savory bar snacks. They were tasty and were a perfect compliment to our cocktails. They do have food on the menu, but we had already eaten so we stuck with our complimentary snacks. As we were closing out, the staff presented us with a complimentary mini dessert. Rory described it as a Carajillo Jello shot. I don't like jello (I hate the texture), but I do love Carajillos. My friend does not drink coffee and does not like coffee flavor, so I ate both of them. They were so delicious (but the texture was off putting lol). I typically don't mention the restrooms in my reviews, but this one is worth mentioning. All I have to say is heated seats with a bidet! We really enjoyed our visit. Had the drinks not been so pricey, we probably would have stayed longer. If you enjoy speakeasies and/or craft cocktails, go have a drink at The Vault! The experience alone is worth it!
