So it took claims about 4 months to hand me a measly check of around $200 and 6 months later, I received a mysterious bill of $130. It was quite infuriating and also I want to mention Dean Lazar's incompetency of handling this situation. Yeah sure, he is so friendly over the phone but when things start to sour, he is more than incapable of assisting you. This is a very deceptive company trying to change their ratings on Google and they also have been covering the customer's pictures by adding their company's pictures to bury the bad ones. Eventually, I discarded most of my belongings and purchased new ones. The amount of damage they have caused wasn't worth it. I just did another cross country move as well and the other movers were fantastic! I should've sued this company even if it meant losing thousands because I already did. My couch alone was 5K and this company wrapped it in plastic that has the same thickness as a trash liner. Oh yeah and thanks so much for replying to my message. This is the second time in two years that I have used Zip and they are great. Rico's crew of Carlos, Guillermo, and Jose were early and finished on time. They were personable and efficient and I would recommend them again. The only complaint if any, was that they loaded up my recycling with all the tape and plastic packing which can't be recycled so I spent some time moving it around. They were appreciative that I bought them all lunch. Hopefully I won't be moving any time soon but if I do, I will use them again. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Rico team. The teams lead went over all the extra costs as far as packing material, boxes, shrink wrap, etc. They took very good care of our items and didn't just start grabbing boxes and throwing it in the truck. They worked together as a team to make a plan. Got everything in the truck in literally in hour. Then we left and went to the other location. We had some very narrow and complicated stairs that led up to the apartment and our couch wouldn't fit through but they found a way! The process to move with Zip Moving was seamless. From start to finish, the staff were professional, understanding, and most of all thorough! Setting up my move date was painless. Philip made sure I had all items in each room accounted for and gave me an estimate rate by hour in the best and worst (longest time frame to complete job) scenarios. After this, I received a call from Daria to review my list of items and details regarding my move. Day of, Rico, Christian & Guiellermo did an amazing job! I was given a start time between 8-10am. They were at my apartment 10 mins til 8am. I received a phone call once they were 30 mins out letting me know they would arrive by 8am! Communication is key so I appreciated the heads-up and the fact they arrived at the start of the time range given. During the move, I really didn't have to lift a finger. Rico made sure everything was taken of. My furniture was wrapped for transport, ends of bins were sealed with tape for security, and my furniture was taken care of as well. I had a last minute request to have them do all the packing and also had to change my move date to one day earlier - They easily accommodated those changes. This was my first time hiring movers and I called 4 companies that had sent me mailers once I bought a house; Zip was the first to call me back and give concrete information on how to move forward in the process. Their communication ahead of the move was extensive and professional. I felt very sure there wouldn't be any surprises the day of the move. My moving crew was awesome! There was some small damage done to some of our very heavy garage storage units but they informed us of the damage so we could address it. This company is by far nothing but a scam company, and we have been taken to the cleaners with ZERO contact back from the company. HORRIBLE service, and they should never be allowed to touch anyone's stuff ever again. Our horrible experience began on June 15th when they showed up to our house for our move. The driver was incredibly arrogant and would not agree to begin packing our house until we signed a revised estimate. Our original estimate was for $x and they now said it was $x plus $.75x. He claimed that we didn't represent ourselves in the estimate. Funny, they are the ones that did the estimate and the only things that had changed was that we donated a bulk of our furniture to Habitat for Humanity and took many loads to the dump since the estimate was done. So we actually had less things to be moved. During the estimate process they told us they could pack us and load the truck in about 4-6 hours with 2 men. We told them that wasn't remotely possible (because we have moved before) and they assured us they were professionals and could get it done. It all went down hill from there. They did not wrap about half of the furniture in blankets. They put things in boxes, including china, dishes, and glasses, without wrapping them in paper. Each time I tried to get them to stop and do it properly we were told that they didn't have enough supplies with them. At one point one of the men left to go get more supplies, but that didn't change their "packing" technique. That's when we started documenting what they were doing by taking videos and pictures. We knew it wasn't going to go well, but we had no other option, as we needed to be out of our house the next day. They were suppose to be at our house at 9am. Showed up at noon. At 9:30 that night (yep, that's correct) they proceeded to tell us that they didn't have enough room in their truck for the rest of our stuff, and we leaving. WHAT???? Said they would be back the next day with a second truck. Ridiculous. Next morning they showed up, not with a different truck, but with the same truck. Which means that they had to have completely unloaded all of our stuff, taken the other people's stuff that was on the truck before us and put in on another truck. Started packing and loading the rest of our stuff. Including shoving our dining room table with great force when it wasn't going to fit they way they were trying (rather than just rotating it 45 degrees and it would have fit fine. 4 hours later they claimed they were finished. I asked them what about the rest of the stuff that was still in the house. I was told they didn't have any more room, nor did they have any supplies. So they just left!!! I had to go to the store and get my own moving supplies to pack up what they left behind and put those boxes in our cars. This took place over Thursday and Friday. We were moving bout 8 hours away. We were told they would be there Sunday or Monday morning. Even got confirmation from the dispatcher. You guessed it. Come Monday afternoon the dispatcher said they could no locate the driver and he was not responding to them. So another week passes and we finally got our stuff. But, we didn't. We got about 3/4 of our stuff......on yet another truck. Again, they said they had now weighed our move, and they would not unload the truck until we paid an additional $2k. We said that was not going to happen, because we weren't getting all of our stuff. (And this driver, who as a new driver didn't even know where the other truck was). So they unloaded it. I will say, this was a different crew from up in Maryland. This crew did a great job unloading and putting furniture back together. But I sat with my camera yet again documenting everything that was broken as it came off the truck. The truck driver asked us who packed our stuff and we told them they did. He said that was not their company's practice of packing, and was shocked at the condition of the boxes. I kid you not, there was actually a totally smashed up box that had been placed inside a brand new box to attempt to hide it. We actually videoed us opening this box because we laughed that we had one good box. Until it was opened... But, I digress. When asked when the other truck would be coming, they didn't know. Told us to contact the company again. Once again we would call, be put on hold and then the call would magically disconnect when they would begin to talk to us. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Second truck showed up a week later with the rest of our stuff. More broken furniture, ripped up mattresses and box springs (because they weren't protected by blankets) and smashed family heirlooms. Forced to pay the remaining balance before they would unload the truck. This company is a total bait and switch. They have ZERO customer service and ZERO moving experience. We disputed the claim with our credit card company and they put the payment on hold. Waiting for a response. read more

I tried to hire Zip moving and storage because of the high marks from other customers. I wanted a safe and efficient move like anyone else. When I spoke to the gentleman who answers the line, I was told the only availability was a time that was either sooner than I was ready for or a date that was available but for a larger fee because it was a crew of more people than my move needed. Why one guy can't work with my move--I don't know, but apparently the movers are joined at the hip. Naturally, I wanted to find out if the first day would work so while on the phone instead of waiting 20 seconds while I confirm, in an order to make the call shorter, this person told me to find out and to call back first thing in the morning and assured me that he would hold my spot for the move. I do that. No answer. Left a message. Then again the next day. And then the next. Same lack of a response. Finally on Monday, first thing in the morning, I get someone only to find out that the spot that would've taken 20 seconds to confirm was now gone. This same individual is now telling me the only slot available is a much more expensive day with a larger crew. This post is already too long but know this--if they can't keep their word for the planning, I wouldn't trust them with my valuables or my time either. Wasting someone's time is one of the worst things you can do to a customer. I ended up choosing another company that was less expensive than the first quoted price (the cheaper day). I would like to update my review and increase my star rating. As I noted in my prior review, on a prior move, there were a couple of communication issues and I had a very bad experience with the company Zip uses to sort of provide insurance. However, overall we liked Zip such we had planned to use them for another move. Tony kindly gave us an estimate and we placed a deposit on a move date. We are moving to a high-rise condo and the HOA has a lot of rules. The mover must sign a contract. Unfortunately, Zip could not meet all of the requirements and we had to change to the condo-recommended mover. I did not really expect Zip to refund our deposit but they did. I was really dragging my feet, so I ended up just going with Zip Moving, because they seemed to be extremely on top of it. I was right! These guys are AMAZING! The whole team, from start to finish. I worked with Ned and Daria and a few others whose names I cannot remember. I absolutely hate moving, but they have such a well-oiled machine, my move was a stress-free as possible. Was it entirely without a hitch? No, no way - but the guys they sent to help me move were INCREDIBLE! On moving day, the team reviews the cost breakout with you M U L T I P L E times, which was a former account manager I can fully appreciate. If you need to use one of their boxes or materials, they have a whole price list they will pull out at the drop of a hat. Each time I was about to incur more cost, the movers would stop to ask if it was okay. They charged for every single box, which I absolutely did not mind - I say this mostly to point out exactly how organized these people are. My final remarks on Zip Moving - you get what you pay for. When a company has a branded 26' truck, they probably know what they're doing. Again, not the absolute cheapest, but also FULLY worth the value. These guys were fantastic! I had a LOT of stuff, and my move was broken into multiple parts, where some had to go into storage for two months and then after two months all my furniture plus the stored boxes were moved across the country. The entire time I was given updates, and had a direct line to my coordinator, who was responding immediately when I had a question. I'm still unpacking, but all the items that were packed by Zip's movers at pick-up are meticulously wrapped. And on the other hand the crew that delivered everything to Texas was amazing, hardworking, polite and friendly. I should start by saying that before this experience, I had never before hired a moving company. I just knew how difficult it was to move my belongings into my third-story apartment when I moved in a little over a year ago. On January 11th, I made the move from that third-story apartment in Dallas, Ga to a house with a steep dirt-road driveway in Kingston, Ga. We were definitely worried about the truck being able to make it up the driveway from the beginning. My boyfriend and I had packed a majority of my belongings into Sterilite containers, but we still had quite a few things left out, and a closet full of hanging clothes. I expected this process to be a struggle, but much to my surprise, it wasn't! Rico and Daniel came to my apartment bright and early and got to work immediately. They were quick and careful all at the same time, and they made sure to pack things in an organized way. They knew what they were doing! There was no standing around or taking breaks-- even though if they had needed to, it would have been warranted. I decided I wanted to pack my hanging clothes, and they had all the supplies needed for me to add those boxes to the total. They packed up my closet with ease, and couldn't have been more grateful. These boxes made unpacking these clothes easier than ever! I was more than happy with my experience, and when I save up the money to make the move to my forever home, I will not hesitate to hire these guys again! After having a horrible moving experience in metro Atlanta several years ago, you could only imagine the apprehension trying to find another reputable mover. To my surprise, the staff and movers from Zip exceeded my expectations. The communication was timely and professional once David answered my inquiry. He set me up with an easy to manage online portal account, explained my options, and gave a fair cost. He and his associates even checked in before the move. I highly recommend the partial pack if you are going to pack most of your property yourself. Alex and his moving crew were top notch. Not as advertised. They advertise climate controlled storage. There's no way that my belongings were all in climate control over the summer of 4 1/2 months of storage. I had lampshades shredding, candles melted, an expensive end table top coming unglued from the base, legs off 2 bedside tables knocked off, a floor lamp broken in half, an expensive cordless vac torn apart. Any other items damaged and their insurance company reimbursing us 60 cents per pound...nothing to do with the value of the item. read more

Sooo overall I was not happy with this company! My appointment was scheduled for a set day but the guy who took the order put the wrong date. While I was eventually fitted into the schedule this led to the moving going all night, literally. The movers also blamed the scheduler and commented that it happens a lot! The movers were great guys but needed some training. I had 3 guys but the work of about 1 1/2. Not very organized and 2 of the movers seemed like they had never moved anyone before.
