I literally cannot say enough good things about this company. High level: great moving boxes and PHENOMENAL customer service. Boxes: They're clean, they don't smell, they're sturdy, hold tons of weight with no problem, easy to use, stackable, easy to transport. If you order a lot of boxes, I'd recommend ordering the extra dolly for $7 so it's easier/quick to transport. This is SO MUCH better than buying cardboard boxes for a billion reasons, but mainly because it's eco-friendly, less time consuming because you don't have to tape them together, and they're sturdier. It's also probably cheaper than using regular boxes! Service: I haven't written a yelp review in a long time but I had to bring myself to write one for ZippGo. They are the MOST accommodating company I have ever worked with. I originally ordered the boxes for 1 week from Monday to Monday for a Friday move, but figured it'd be good to get some packing started on Sunday. I asked for a Sunday to Sunday change but because they're closed on Sunday, they offered a Saturday delivery but still a Monday pick up at no extra change. AMAZING. Then, they were planning to come Monday for pick up but I just found out that I would be not able to work from home during that time because I had a work emergency. I chatted with customer service and they told me to leave it outside my apartment door. So they accommodated MY inconvenience and the driver went above and beyond taking two trips up the elevator to the apartment to retrieve the boxes at no extra cost. I contacted ZippGo with a rush need for delivery of 60 moving boxes, and they made special arrangements for expedited delivery that even accommodated coordinating a very narrow delivery window with my arrival by air from out of town. The delivery truck and I parked at the delivery location within about 30 seconds of one another - nothing short of amazing! The boxes are very sturdy and clean, and stack so that they are easy for movers to transport. They close securely with zip ties, and were delivered with peal-off labels, the zip ties and a dolly. The delivery person who carried all those boxes upstairs was very nice to work with as well as efficient. We needed to extend the use of the boxes for a further week, which was accomplished with a simple text message, and, when we couldn't quite meet that schedule, Ash extended it for a couple of more days at no charge. The benefit of the convenience and eco-savy of ZippGo over having to tape and pack and dispose of cardboard boxes really can't be overstated. This is a great business - it is good for the environment and way more convenient than going to buy boxes, tape, and packing supplies at U-Haul. Pros: -environmentally friendly -they deliver the crates, and packing material -they pick up when you are done -the large crates are a perfect size. I crammed so much into each one that packing was very efficient and easy -they give you labels and ties for the crates -the crates are clean so you could put clothing, bedding or towels in them and not have to rewash -courteous and professional staff -you can keep the crates for longer than originally planned for only a little money Cons -because ZippGo is based in San Francisco, if you live in the South Bay your delivery/pickup times are limited. I found this somewhat inconvenient as I had to leave work during the week to be home for the delivery and pickup. -it is a little pricey. I got a deal through HomeRun but probably wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise Overall, the pros outweigh the cons. I think that as the business expands, it can add more staff, therefore offering more delivery/pickup times and hopefully lowering the prices a bit too. My movers complained that the boxes were heavy because of the plastic, but they also insisted on carrying them on their backs instead of using the rolling dolly supplied by ZippGo or a hand truck. Annoying. ZippGo's otherwise been a very pleasant experience -- from not having to stuff multiple loads of boxes into my car to easily stacking empty boxes on both ends and avoiding the uncontrollable mound of cardboard taking over our city-sized apartment. I feel good that I avoided much of the waste usually associated with moving. The 50 ZippGo boxes I rented surely took the place of 100-150 new cardboard boxes. Three things I didn't miss: assembling and breaking down boxes (no paper cuts here!), full boxes getting crushed when stacked, and figuring out what to do with my boxes when I was done with them. And I don't think I even paid all that much more than I would have spent for decent conventional boxes (sans pick up & delivery!). read more

We rented 25 boxes and a dolly for 3 weeks to move a 1 bedroom apartment from one side of the city to another. I thought 25 was way too many for the amount of stuff we owned but we ended up using every single one. The boxes fit a lot and can get quite heavy - we quickly learned that it's best to fill each to about half way with heavier items and then top it off with lighter things like clothing. The boxes feel sturdy and stack securely. We were able to fit 6 in the back of a Honda Element. You'll be able to comfortably stack 4 boxes on top of the dolly. The boxes got dropped off about 15 mins after the scheduled window and I had to proactively call to schedule a specific time for pickup. No big deal. It would've been a nice touch if they called ahead when they were near the drop-off or pickup address. I'll totally use ZippGo again for our next move - totally beats using flimsy cardboard boxes that you either have to store somewhere or throw away after the move. read more

After being forced to move out of our apartment due to the owner wanting to move back in, we were devastated. We wanted to make the moving process as painless as possible. These boxes were super helpful! No more dealing with setting up and breaking down cardboard. These guys show up, drop them off, and then you can fill them one by one. After we moved in, it was easy to stack them on the dolly and move the boxes to where they belong. Also, we scheduled them to pick them up a week after we moved. Yes, it seemed fast, but the bonus was we were forced to unpack quickly. Now we don't have those random last boxes to unpack and we got settled super fast! We didn't love the wardrobe boxes. They were new and we had a difficult time unfolding them and then keeping them open to put the clothes in them. They might function better after a few uses though. Really as good as it gets. I found them on Yelp because I didn't want to scrounge around the office or the grocery store for cardboard boxes. I've used those before and they stink. I refuse to pay for new cardboard boxes that I'll end up recycling again, filling up more of the landfill. I've been talking to Ash (the owner) through email for a good two weeks before actually placing the order. I told him I was just looking at prices because I didn't have an exact move in date at that time. When I finally had a move in date, I found that there was a Yelp deal as well. I was going to use it on their website but found that I didn't know where to put the "coupon code". I emailed him and we completed the transaction over the phone (he called me within 5 minutes). I ordered the 35 boxes package (consists of 5 extra large; 25 large; and 5 medium, labels and zip ties). I was expecting the boxes to be delivered on 12/17 to be picked up on 12/24. There is a stair surcharge, which I can understand because you can only carry so many boxes at a time up stairs. Drop off and pick up times were accurate and I didn't have to wait long. This is an incredible way to save a lot of time and tedious effort of going through the monotony of building cardboard boxes. Also, these boxes are super sturdy. Far superior than cardboard boxes. I love innovative ways that make lives easier. Ash and his partner are very friendly, accommodating and professional. The only few points i'd like to suggest for improvements are the wardrobe boxes which would need a re-design and better quality. They are flimsy and not as sturdy as the regular containers. Also I found it somewhat pricy, would have loved the price approx. 20-30% cheaper. But considering the convenience I got with my busy life with little son, it was a decision I feel very happy about !! Will surely use their service and recommend to all movers to try it out. Moving is a pain. Boxes are pricey and if you opt to find used boxes, you're going to spend your time driving around instead of packing! ZippGo was wonderful. They dropped the boxes off 1 week before hand, and picked them up 1 week after the move. And they were so easy - no need to deal with making boxes & all of that tape. These stacked well, kept everything neat, and nothing broke. Best part was, it made us unpack! I would most definitely still have unopened boxes if I hadn't rented these (plus a ton of trash)! Ash clearly cares about customer service and he knows his stuff. He recommended the 35 box package but I insisted that 25 will be more than enough. When we were done packing the 25h crate, we looked around our apartment and said ****. Ash was right! His opinion was honest and I should have taken his advice. My motivation to select crates was based on minimizing environmental impact. The only waste we created - plastic zip ties (recycled them) and box labels. But, here are the other benefits we realized as we used this service/product: 1) Assembly not required (ahhh....no taping) 2) Crates are delivered to your old address and picked up from your new address so that you can focus on packing vs. finding/getting/making boxes. 3) Sturdy crates (cardboard boxes can break if wet, not taped well, or over stuffed). Our crates were stuffed and it happened to be raining on our move date. 4) Fragile contents in a crate would withstand more than a cardboard box. None of our items in crates were damaged during the move. I don't enjoy moving - but services like this help make moves easier. read more

i coudln't be more pleased with the service from these guys. eddie arrived right on time, was warm and friendly, and explained everything i needed to know about packing the boxes. the boxes themselves are sturdy; not having to worry about crushing a box is really nice. i'm not really all that big on the whole 'green' thing - i try to do my part, though, and to be honest it's much easier to have a bunch of nice boxes delivered and picked up than to spend a bunch of money on cardboard boxes that break, take, foam, and other shit. so yeah, great job guys! couldn't be more satisfied. read more

I used Zipgo's service for my move from MV to SJ. All I can say is that I'm sorry I haven't used then before and that I'll 100% use them from now on. I got the 2 bed 50 box package plus wrapping paper and we needed exactly that number of boxes. They arrived exactly on time for delivery. For pick up I asked them to arrive earlier. They said they will get there at 9:15 and I was amazed as they arrived at 9:15 exactly. The boxes made the move so easy, no tape, no breaking down boxes, no hunting four boxes. Perfect. This really is the only way to move. -Easy to pack and unpack; the crates stack out of the way when empty. -The movers loved them and the move went quicker--saved $$ there. -Rain threatened and I didn't care--my stuff was all safe in plastic. -Ordering, drop-off, and pick-up all went smooth as can be. -The slightly smaller book crates are a great idea. -2-week rental window is a great incentive to get packed and unpacked in a timely manner. read more

They showed up when they said they would, called me to give me a heads up they were coming, and were super friendly. These plastic containers were a life saver during my last move. One less thing for me to worry about and it easily packed up my 2br 1bath apartment. I used all 25 containers I ordered. Using these made moving a breeze and they are so much stronger so nothing broke during the move. Love these. Nothing was bent, broken or otherwise damaged. I loved how easily they stacked as well. I packed probably twice as fast because I didn't have to stop and fight tape and I didn't have to wrap breakables in bubble wrap. Note that these boxes aren't great for everything -- I had to supplement with bigger boxes for lamp shades, shoe boxes, and other awkward sized items. Also, if you are a girl with a lot of stuff (shoes, especially, and a full kitchen), you should expect to use more than the 35 boxes for a 1 bedroom. For my fully stocked one-bedroom with full dining room, my move took 35 Zippgo boxes, 6 or so larger traditional boxes, and four wardrobe boxes. Another note -- these boxes can be a little awkward to get out of an Edwardian apartment's narrow doors. But my movers did fine. read more

Well...thought we'd use this service to move, but after placing our order, they called us to say they don't deliver in Half Moon Bay. They'll deliver in Pacifica, but won't go 15 mins more south to Half Moon Bay. Then, we were told that they could deliver in HMB, but for a $99 extra fee. Why so expensive?! That's probably more than double the cost of gas if you went as far as Pacifica. Why even consider yourselves serving the Bay Area if you leave out part of the peninsula? Nice concept no doubt, but should include more areas in their services without charging such an excessive fee outside of their very limited current delivery borders. read more

These boxes are awesome! We used them in two moves, and they definitely help remove some of the pain of moving. They stack so easily, and there is no breaking down of boxes after the move. I like the fact that they reduce cardboard, but mostly they help reduce the cost of moving by making moving the boxes much faster with no items getting crushed. I have moved twice in a two year period in the intense San Francisco rental and real estate market. Our places are not big and we can't be packed very long because there is only so much space to live in when there are boxes everwhere. Also our moves are very fast paced lasting no more than 2 weeks from inception to completion. This makes ZippGo really an outstanding solution. They will drop of boxes very quickly after ordering beating online box delivery typically in timeline (so you can get packing). You can order them with rollers so you can move 6 full boxes easily around to make reorganizing and moving easier. Zipties give you a nice feeling of security when your possessions are out of site. I had a great experience yesterday with our recent move. We were close to unpacking all our zippgo boxes but had scheduled the pickup 5 days later and I realized that i didn't want to have the boxes that around the unit. So i emailed them at 7 PM on Sunday night. Within 60 minutes they had confirmed a pickup the following morning. I was shocked! they were so polite and really made an effort to make the hard moving process as easy as possible. the boxes are great quality, The is polite and energetic, Zippgo doesn't alienate your new neighbors by overloading the recycling the days after we move in. ZippGo is am amazing service with an outstanding idea! Their green environmentally friendly boxes are the key to moving! They were helpful, were wonderful on the phone (customer service), and I will definitely be using them again next time I move. Their boxes were clean and extremely useful They are so much better than cardboard! Not only do you not have to deal with the hassle of figuring out what to do with all the boxes when you're done moving, they are also sturdier and easier to stack. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they had to push back my delivery a couple hours and push up my pick up a couple hours. They were great at communicating though! We actually finished unpacking early, so I emailed Ash at 9:30 last night to see if they could pick up early. He wrote back five minutes later and the guys were here at 9:30 am today. Ah-mazing.
