here's the deal. i only go here for one pizza. the salads ok, but if i want pepperoni and mushroom pizza. well this place is my fix for that. and a helpful hint to that would be to order Mushroom and pepperoni pizza. trust me. they tend to give lots more mushroom if you mention it before pepperoni. the ingredients taste great. remember we're talking about pizza here. i've also tried a chicken and pineapple pizza here which was not that good. but yes get ur Mushroom and Pepperoni pizza here it's one of the best and heartiest pizza's in orange county. read more

This place is great for lunch. It's a total pizza joint so don't expect anything fancy. They have a great outdoor seating area that's nice to take advantage of when the weather is good. Their pizza and pasta lunch deals are affordable and well portioned. I love their salads here because they are hearty and the ranch is to die for. It's that watery ranch that you can only find in restaurants, but it packs a punch. Great pizza!! Samantha was great! Very sweet and polite over the phone. Once the pizza was delivered it came on time, but the delivery man was very rude. "Mark" was his name. He asked me for my ID, when I provided it to him, he laughed and said, "Wow, I don't need that. Have another drink". First off, I'm not drunk! Just because I'm at a bar, don't assume I'm drinking. Well, we ordered another pizza. It was delivered by the same driver "Mark". Once he arrived, he tells us, "You just ordered a pizza!! You should know to tell us where to deliver it." a friend of mine ordered a pizza on the app and requested to have it delivered a couple buildings over, waited an hour and half still no pizza. Had to call the store they claimed they never got the order so placed another order. an hour later still no pizza when they told her 30 mins. i personally walked over there and the rudest a**hat ever looks at me and goes "sorry its be 59 mins" he said the driver was at the building and it was already delivered. i asked him what he could do to fix this situation he then says "naw". walk over to the building still no pizza like he stated waited another 7 mins and still no pizza go to call them again and here comes the pizza delivery person with a cold pizza. makes no sense how people can have no care in the world about their job or being rude as hell to their customers. the food is always great here but they need to rethink their staff!!!! read more

I'm originally from the east coast and am sick of all this thick crust pizza on the west coast and tried out Zito's takeout. The place is actually hard to find -- it's in a little alleyway. I ordered thin crust pizza hoping that it would be New York style and it didn't quite make it. The slices are, like all of the slices I've gotten here in California, tiny, and the crust was a bit limp. It was also a bit pricey at $16 or a large, one topping pizza. My husband and I ended up eating the whole thing in one sitting which is surprising because we are not big eaters. However, the pizza tasted great, yummy and cheesy with that hint of fennel. read more

The food was good, as it usually is. I'm never disappointed with their product. What didn't thrill me, however, was that I showed up 20 min after placing my order over the phone (they told me my pizza would be ready in 30min) expecting to wait another 10-15min for my food. After a good 20-25 min of standing there within 5ft of the front counter, I inquired as to whether it was ready yet (only 3-4 people were dining in the store, so it's not like they were packed), and a worker went back and grabbed me my order from the top of the oven, meaning it was sitting there getting cold for a good 15min or so while I patiently sat there waiting. This is a nice family friendly pizza joint. I take my kids here from time to time. The pizza is decent, not great, but decent. On a pizza scale with 1 being worst and 10 being best (which is almost impossible to find in California--compared to New York pizzarias), this is about a 6. The garlic knots are great though. Good service, low key, family friendly. I don't think their pricing is that out of line compared to what other pizza places charge. They also have a mini brewery so a good place to come with the guys and watch games or order takeout. This applies to both the Old Town and Glassell locations. read more

DONT GET THEIR LASAGNA. Had it today. Scant meat, over done with sauce. Looked more like a marinara soup. And when I say Scant meat I mean I was really looking for it and barely found some flakes, which reassured me that I didn't get a veggie by mistake. Sauce was nothing great, too watery, semi sour and needed salt. Between the layers there was only 1 that had cheese, plus melted on top. This place is literally a hidden gem. Just went today after not being there since May 2015. I spent a year and a half at Chapman University and this was like my safe haven, my getaway from the school. Sometimes I went 3 times a week and the staff as well as the manager(the young guy) were always really great in every way possible. I always got the calzone and that was amazing, they dealt with how picky I made my order with no problem & ease. One time I ordered a calzone on the go because I had to go to class and didn't check it until I got to class, it turned out it wasn't mine. I called and told the manager and without any hesitation the young manager let me keep the calzone, plus he gave me my next one free because he knows how to take care of his customers. There's all types of people, families, students that go there and it's always a great environment. The food is amazing, love the freshness in every bite, even the beer tastes amazing. They have happy hour, and it's always best to grab a pitcher. Overall is a place I will never forget and I am glad I got to share it with my family for the first time today! read more

About three years ago this place was 5 stars hands down. Now as someone stated the pizza is very greasy. I have tried many times to work something out so I do not get a soggy greasy pizza. Sadly I have given up. My Costco pizza is bigger , cheaper and not greasy at all. If Costco and I can create a non-greasy pizza why cant Zitos?? I guess Ill never know. read more

Okay this is my new favorite pizza place which I compare every other pizza I eat to, so far zito's is still king of the hill.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star maybe a 1/4 star. Food quality is going down the drain. Pasta has that "frozen" taste and OVER cooked / soggy. The sauce taste like Ragu. The dressing use to be freshly made - now they come in pre-packs, most likely purchased at Costco. The chicken on salads are pre-cooked cubes. The garlic bread is too greasy. The only saving grace is the service, other than that food is just awful ! read more

Love the spaghetti and meatballs! I would like the recipe for the meatballs, but have now found a new favorite with the garlic spaghetti. Zito's is definitely a go-to place for friends and family and has a well rounded menu for a "pizza" restaurant. It is busy for a reason-good solid food, friendly neighborhood feel. read more

I am disappointed in Zitos. Not because the food or drink was bad but specifically the manager is an ass, Ill explain. We go there every Thursday night to watch football and have dinner. We went on the 13th of October and while ordering our food asked if they could put the game on the television. The girl said she did not think so because the manager was watching the hockey game. I thought the televisions were for customers to watch I did not realize that they were there for the staff. It was my mistake to assume that I was at least a semi valued customer and that I could request a game to be put on, my bad . Like I said we go every Thursday night and that is only during football season but throughout the year we go or should I say used to go around 25 times a year. That being said I consider myself at least a fairly good customer but to this asshole that doesn't matter, the hockey game is way more important. I guess business is so good that losing business doesn't matter. Well where I used to go Thursday nights was more a matter of convenience than necessity, that being said I choose one of the hundreds of other places to go on Thursday nights. read more
