Ok, this is a tough one to write but it will more than likely be the last review for this place from me. So I get it, there is a difference between being efficient and then just being rushed. The food was great but the service has so much to be desired. We got seated and our drinks immediately but again there was no welcoming greeting or cordial welcome. It was pretty much "what can I get you" offering. My wife is Gluten Free because of celiacs and my wife asked if the potatoes were GF and the waitress looked at her like she had a unicorn growing out of her head and the waitress was like, "I don't know?" with no further explanation. Again keeping in mind that the way she was handling this transaction like we were in a grub line in boot camp. She took our order and then she was basically no where to be found. And I mean literally no where you be found. Was never asked or asked how our meal was or if there was anything else we needed. NOTHING!!!! We were given our bill and we were out the door. Again, this is a tough one to write as I pay attention to companies that are solely owned by women and I support this very much, but today they missed the mark completely. Very disappointing and will never return to Kimmie's ever again. I'm giving the food two stars but zero points for their customer service. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place. I have had nothing but great experiences here. The food, the service, perfection. My fiancé loves their little breakfast "sliders" and I could eat that breakfast burrito any day! The girly pops who served us are always so sweet and patient. I also love how homey it is inside, not over the top, but just a cute diner ambiance. I plan on going back for their egg salad sandwich, can't wait! read more

Kimmie's is a cute diner style breakfast restaurant at the edge of the south side of the Orange circle. There are quite a few outdoor tables, in addition to regular and bar stool seating inside. Huevos Rancheros Two eggs any style served on corn tortillas, topped with homemade ranchero sauce, cheese, sour cream, and your choice of potatoes or rice and beans. There's something about the salsa that gave a watery consistency that for me, diluted the flavors. I also felt that the dish could have used another kick - like guacamole or spicy chips, etc. Otherwise, no complaints - the over easy eggs prepared just like I ordered. Kimmie's style Patty and Eggs Homemade sausage patty with a slight tinge of spice. I thought it was overly salted - that even if you dip the meat into the gravy, the saltiness still dominates. Our waitress was attentive and never rushing us. Our food came quick and it was amazing. I've lived in orange almost my entire life and never knew about Kimmie's. It is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant. Soo good and the price isn't too bad. The service was quick and attentive to everything you needed. The food came out fairly quick which was nice because my boyfriend and I were starving. I had the pancakes with a side of hash browns and bacon both done extra crispy. My boyfriend had the Hamburger patty with potatoes, scrambled eggs and a side of hash browns. This Kimmie's has been here for years and always has a crowd. It's a cute homey place. They handle orders efficiently even though they have a big menu with a lot of choices. Pricing is a little high but it's in Old Town, so not surprising. The portions are large and you're likely to have leftovers. So not a big complaint. My wife had the corned beef hash. I was going to ask well, but I always ask if it is made in house. The waitress was honest and said it was not. I went with the chile relleno omelet instead and was glad I did. Our friend had the house made sausage with eggs. He declared the sausage as very good. The chile relleno omelet is sheer genius. They wrap a poblano chile relleno inside the omelet then cover with cheese, salsa and sour cream. Wow! read more

The girls who work there are always friendly. There are a few outdoor tables to enjoy some air as you eat. The main issues are that parking can be a challenge in the area and it is pricy. It's always my go to brunch spot since the portions are pretty big and the ambience is always super nice! We are on a quest to try all of the breakfast places at The Circle. We had never eaten here before, and the food was terrible. Both my egg scrambler and my wife's chicken sandwich were bad. My egg scrambler was a metaphorical "Hot mess" - cold, undercooked bell peppers and a super salty dish of slop. My wife's chicken sandwich was dry and tasted like leather (Did it get microwaved or what ?) I didn't have super high expectations for this place ( I was expecting "Average" food like at a Denny's for example ) - eating there more for the ambience of being "At the Circle", but such was not the case. I docked a star for the service. The food was very good and the portions were large. The waitress was rude and never really came to check on our table. We arrived on a weekday morning and it was crazy packed. So be prepared to wait. The location is not that large so I'm assuming if there are no tables available you have to wait quite a long time. When we split the bill I just put a coffee on my tab. The waitress didn't warn me about the $1 service charge for a credit card to be used. I was so frustrated. Had I known I would had paid with cash. I took that $1 out of her tip. She was super rude anyway and I didn't feel like tipping 20% on a cup of drip coffee. I know people love their classic American breakfast diners so I guess that is why this place was packed. But I would prefer to go to a different breakfast place next time because the service left a bad taste. But don't be discouraged because the food did look good. Loved it here! Great outdoor seating on a perfect sunny day. Situated right in the beginning (or end) of The Circle, depending which way you're facing, Kimmie's has great food and service. We wanted breakfast and a local recommended Kimmie's. Everyone loved what they ordered, and the table split a bread pudding French toast which was a dish crafted in the Heavens somewhere.
