Basket of fresh made pita bread, beef hummus dip
    Helen L.

The biggest plates! Try the dish with everything: beef, lamb, and chicken. Chicken and their sauce was really good. Beef seemed a bit dry. Lamb has a lot of seasoning. All the staff provided a warm welcome. Their bread is super fresh. It comes in a cute blanket. The hummus dip with beef was so flavorful. Definitely you will have leftovers.

Absolutely love this neighborhood gem. The server was very kind and welcoming. The kofta plate was delicious -- do be warned it's spicy as I didn't know but still great. Pita is soft and hummus was creamy and smooth. The special kebab plate was hefty, with shrimp, and two additional skewers!

Great Mediterranean food and a cute vibe. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Lots of options from tapas to wraps to full plates. Portions are large.

We just had a lovely dinner at Zitouna! The ambiance is like a classy, yet casual cafe where you order and pay for your meal at the cashier, then they give you a number to display on the table. In front, you'll see a few desserts displayed like baklava and Turkish delights. The service by the owner (Nobel) was warm, welcoming, and friendly. *** O U R P I C K S *** 4 D I P P L A T T E R ~ **Labneh & olives ~ a thick, tangy, and creamy Middle Eastern strained yogurt with olives, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with za'atar/spices. Ultra rich, creamy and delicious! 5/5 **Mechwia ~ seasoned roasted peppers, ripe tomatoes, minced garlic, and finely chopped onions. Yum! This one was good too. It's like a bell pepper dip. I believe it's a Tunisian specialty. 5/5 **Babaganoush ~ roasted eggplant blended with tahini, garlic, and a touch of lemon. This is a dip that I order quite frequently at other restaurants. It was tasty, smoky, tangy, and on point! 5/5 **shakshuka ~ spiced tomato sauce with peppers, onions, and a blend of herbs served warm. This too was an enjoyable dip! Tomato sauce had a sweetness. Another yummy Tunisian dip! 5/5 Each had its own unique flavor, so it made for a good variety. And it was delicious with warm pita bread! T A B B O U L E H ~ Finely chopped parsley, mint, tomatoes, onion, and bulgur wheat dressed with lemon juice and olive oil. This was a herbaceous salad with a citrusy dressing! It was quite tear jerking tart, but we still liked it and ate it with the other dips and pita bread. 4.5/5 C H I C K E N S H A W A R M A P L A T E ~ My friend ordered this dish and liked it. Chicken was tender and juicy. Rice was fluffy and done right. Salad was fresh and zesty. 5/5 M I X E D S H A W A R M A P L A T E ~ Marinated lamb and beef, tender chicken and flavorful kofte. My guy ordered this and enjoyed the variety of different meats cooked perfectly. He's hard to please, but really liked his entree. That's saying something! 5/5 L A M B S H A N K ~ I ordered this and almost ate everything! I usually don't eat this much but couldn't help myself tonight! The lamb shank was delightfully soft and off the bone! Seasoned and cooked where you barely taste the gaminess. Just the way I like it! 5/5 Their food was excellent, well executed, and truly memorable! Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food presented before us. If I had room, I would have ordered dessert too, but I was stuffed! We'll definitely make our way back to Zitouna again soon!

Not sure where to start. My wife and I were out on a long walk building up an appetite in Sunset Dunes when we decided to look for some Mediterranean food and found this on the map. I gotta say, we were very pleased! The food was fresh and different from the common dishes you find elsewhere in the city. We got the fried cauliflower which surprised the hell out us. They were not deep fried and overly battered, they were lightly fried on the outside, crispy and soft on the inside with great zesty flavor! The spicy hummus was flavorful with a drizzle of high quality olive oil. The pita is soft and lightly toasted, goes really well with the hummus. I don't think you'll be disappointed with anything on the menu... I wasn't. Finally, great people working the restaurant. Had a great chat with the owner. Like all my other favorite restaurants in the city, I love when the owners take the time to meet the customers. You feel the community.

Love this place!! Easy order at the counter restaurant with lovely staff. Must get any of the dishes with the halloumi, try as many dips as you can, and order family style!! The portions are large and leave you full. The ambiance in the restaurant does make it more casual vs date night fancy.

A great spot for a casual Mediterranean lunch! We got the beef and lamb plate and they were nice enough to swap out the regular salad for the tabbouleh salad for us. The portions are super generous and we ended up bringing some home. It's order at the counter and seat yourself style inside the restaurant.

First time eating here. Food is scrumptious and the price is unbeatable! Will come back again and try other dishes. Ordered the beets tapa and chicken shawarma plate. Don't expect full service dining tho. You have to order at the counter, and there is no dedicated waiter or waitress. Ambience is relaxing and bright. Restaurant is clean.

    Mechwia Dip

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. Take it from a person that services 2,500+ restaurants and has eaten at many over the course of 3 decades in SF. It easily ranks Top 50 of all time in any cuisine and quite possibly Top 25. I would even rank it against an upscale restaurant that requires a jacket to seat. The ambiance is vibrant and very clean. Their service is always met with a genuine kindness. Their shawarma plates are great and the shawarma salads are enormous! They can easily feed two people or save half for later. One dish I want to emphasize is the mechwia dip. The way they combine these ingredients to be so flavorful makes this such a good dish, I sometimes come just for this dip if I'm in the area. Great people and menu. It should definitely be on your to try list.

Absolutely incredible! The food is absolutely delicious, full of flavor, excellent portions, and the presentation is beautiful on every plate! The restaurant itself is gorgeous with light & airy decor & fun pops of color. It's a great place to enjoy time with the family. The staff was nothing short of phenomenal- they're extremely attentive to guests, and the overall experience. This is absolutely one of my new favorite places to eat in the city!

What a find! Terrific food - huge portions especially for the price - lovely service. Will be my new go-to when meeting city friends.

This place is 10/10: food was delicious (they also easily accommodated my GF and DF diet), the service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Portions are also very large. I rarely leave the reviews but really want this place to be thriving!

Ana made this place a must-return. First time here and we were blown away starting with the service. Ana was exceptional. She made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we sat down, checked in on us throughout, and brought a warmth that's rare to find. Best service we've had in the city. And the food? The chicken shawarma was a 10/10. Will absolutely be coming back. All 5 of us REALLY enjoyed the food!

Hamachi poke: 2.5/5 this was just okay, the freshness of the tomatoes and the nuttiness were nice additions but it felt like it was missing something and paled in comparison to other smaller plates. Presentation was very pretty. Sticky pork: 5/5 crispy and yummy skin, very fresh fruits to pair and cut through fatty parts. Lettuce wraps added a good crunch and the mayo and green sauce all together made a very flavorful explosion. Very satisfied with this dish! The place is quite pretty. We opted for a small table outside , which is much quieter. Our waiter was a bit stiff around the collar. I suspect he is an old timer, and clearly, we are not regulars. Regardless, the food is great, and the prices are reasonable. The Food: Zucchini Cake, $15 - 4.5 Stars Menu: crispy zucchini cakes with cucumber & mint-yogurt dressing These cakes are ball shaped, deep fried, and made a healthy veggie taste naughty type of good. Very yummy. Lol Tzatziki, $9 - 5 Stars Refreshing and delicious, the tzatziki is an excellent complement to the meal. Octopus, $19 - 5 Stars I really need to stop eating octopus, but when I am in a Greek or Spanish restaurant, I am weak. Grilled octopus legs are soooo good. Their version is grilled just right, not too much char, plus they smartly removed the hardened tips (common) before serving. See photo. Entrees did take a little while longer to be served but I don't blame the workers for the crowd. Service was attentive (server, food runners, & bussers). My drink: Post & Beam Cabernet Sauvignon red wine - rich, full bodied, mildly sweet with a smooth, long finish. Complimented my entree very well (lamb shank). No clash in taste going from eating to drinking. Appetizers: Calamari: Not a huge fan of calamari personally but it was okay. Crispy and chewy squid inside as expected. Greek fries: Typical fries. Crispy and garnished with 2 sauces. One has a mild spice. Nothing super special but it was good as a choice of "sides" from the menu that turned into an appetizer. Had some leftover for my entree that paired well with it actually. Zucchini cakes: crispy shell on the outside but a mushy, hashbrown-like inside of a flavorful mix of vegetables. Really enjoyed this one. Would recommend it. Entrees: Mine: Lamb Shank: soft, tender, the meat melts right off the bone. The sauce is amazing. Tasteful down to the garnish. There was one end that was super fatty and slimy and then different side of the same end that was really chewy like bubblegum but other than that, still my favorite dish from everyone else's. Glad I chose this. Fisherman's Pasta : the presentation is immaculate, very proportional ratio of seafood to the pasta. l like the variety but honestly, this dish is bland. Good thing I got the lamb shank! Arnisia Paidakia (Lamb Chops): Didn't eat but the person who ate it said it tastes good but kind of dry. What he enjoyed about it was that the rice was made of wheat & savory as well. Lobster Risotto - wasn't my personal order but I got to try a bite. Had some flavor and and enough meat from the tail to eat with the savory rice. Free birthday Baklava desert: Never had it before but I got a bite and liked it. Ended up giving the rest to everyone else. This place is good for its variety of choices so I may come back for the good food and atmosphere.

First, the host is an older gentleman, and it took a few minutes to be seated even with a reservation. My husband and I ordered cocktails, 2 tapas, and the vegetarian paella. The paella requires 30-45 min to cook. This becomes important to the story later. We received the tapas before our cocktails arrived. When the cocktails finally arrived, the server almost gave them to the table next to us. I had to flag her attention that those were for me. This was the same server who took our order...?!?! So that was weird. We were done with the tapas and the cocktails. Our server asked if we wanted something more to drink, so we decided to get a bottle of red wine. The server poured our wine, spilled a big drip across our table, wiped off the bottle, but didn't bother to wipe the table! There was a group of 4 people next to us, and they were seated about 15 min after us. But they received a paella really fast. So my husband and I were dismayed because the server probably gave our food to the wrong table. So, we drank our wine and waited for someone to come and speak to us. We expected some kind of acknowledgement that our order was going to be slow. Waited. And waited. Then the table next to us received the paella that they actually ordered (with seafood). And we kept waiting. The server apologized to THEM about bringing them the wrong paella at first, but no apology or explanation to us! At this point, I'm staring at the server, trying to get her attention, getting pretty angry. My husband is a good person, so he's making jokes and making me laugh. He points out a small dog sitting on a chair inside the restaurant. Definitely not a service animal. At this point, I'm so aggrieved and laugh that I'm going to report a health code violation. The server finally comes to us and apologizes for the mix-up, it will be 45 more min for our paella. She tries to compensate by giving us 2 glasses of cava. But like... I'm starving and tipsy. I ask my husband if I should get a corn dog at Foster's Freeze while we wait for paella... Finally, the food arrives. The paella is good but not excellent. My husband makes paella at home that's better than this. He lived in Spain for a while, so he knows and uses a bunch of saffron. La Marcha's paella just tasted like rice with tomatoes and veggies, no saffron flavor or color. We ate the paella, ordered dessert. When the tab came, they didn't give us any kind of discount. The dinner took 2.5 hours! So I am normally a good tipper, but this time, I only tipped 10% and wrote a long note about our disappointment. I figured the other $25 that I would give to the server was going to pay for the babysitter for the extra hour that it took for us to eat dinner. tl;dr Food was good but not excellent. Service was terrible. I am never going back.

We're normally done scavenging for the good stuff in a minute between the four of us , but we even had leftovers tonight which was awesome. We also really enjoyed the plantain appetizer, the plantains were cooked, so tender and sweet, but also had these nice crisp edges. Also loved the black bean puree it came with. Also ordered the cheese quesadillas which were awesome. The cheese tasted so good, I assume it was Oaxacan cheese, it didn't taste like a plain mozzarella quesadilla Warm spinach salad was surprisingly tasty as well ! I've dined here more than a handful of times and every visit was memorable. Sung and his team consistently delivered exceptional food, every dish was solid and clearly made with pride. You could taste the quality and it was consistent every single time. Beyond the food, what always stood out was the hospitality. Sung genuinely made an effort to connect with his guests, remembering faces, checking in at the table and ensuring everyone felt welcomed and valued. He made sure you had a good experience and you could tell he cared. One thing I've learned on my food journey is this: follow the chef. When you find someone who pours heart into their craft, you support them wherever they go next! Looking forward to whatever Sung does next. I already know it's for sure going to be just as good!

Even before this most recent visit, I'd enjoyed intimate dinners here for its creative, Korean-Thai-inspired menu that always packed an impressive punch of flavor but, dare I say, the brunch might be even better. The steak sandwich was absolutely phenomenal, with the steak seasoned and cooked to perfection and pairing beautifully with the charred onion aioli, plus a side of expertly crisped smashed potatoes that were so addicting. The steamed mussels were sumptuous and packed with umami, and I loved the two large bricks of toasted sourdough focaccia that were perfect for sopping up every last bit of the delicious dashi broth. But the pièce de résistance was the custard French toast, which I can only describe as the love child of bread pudding and tres leches cake as it was crispy on the outside but uber moist on the inside, custardy, and simply divine. Kothai will be deeply missed in the neighborhood, but I'm excited to see what's next for chef/owner Sung Park and will be first in line for whatever future project comes next.

You can order drinks directly at the bar or find an open seat and have a server take your order. It took us about 10 minutes of walking around before we finally found a table. Although the service was a little slow at first because of how busy it was, once we were helped, the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. The food is definitely on the pricier side, but it's well worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the martinis were especially impressive. If you're looking for a relaxing spot with breathtaking views of the San Francisco skyline, The View Lounge is a great choice. The combination of great cocktails, tasty food, and the incredible city views makes it a place I'd happily visit again.

Servers were frequently walking around attending to all the tables. We loved everything we ate except the tuna ( we didn't like the sauce) the tuna was great we just didn't like the sauce For drinks we had the Garden Fizz, Paloma, and Lycheetini. All wonderful For food we had : charcuterie board, prawn cocktail ( HUGE prawns and my second favorite dish), ahi tuna tataki, chicken adobo tacos and the Prosciutto flatbread ( my favorite!) For dessert we shared the Ube Crème Brûlée I wanted to try the house made chips cause they looked delicious but I was too full. Definitely a great place to come and celebrate!
