Today I visited Boa CVC Café in San Francisco's Richmond District, and I was genuinely impressed. I had already eaten lunch, so I stopped by just for a cappuccino. While I was waiting for my coffee, a pizza passed by with an incredible aroma. It looked so good that I immediately started looking through the menu. To my surprise, I found many of my favorite dishes on it. As a European, I couldn't help but comment on how much I liked the menu and the overall feel of the place. The food selection, presentation, and attention to detail reminded me of the cafés I enjoy back in Europe. The young woman who served my cappuccino welcomed me with a warm smile and was genuinely friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I came in for a coffee and left excited to return. A number of fun and interesting wines are available by the glass - I chose an extra brut pet-nat Pinot Grigio to start and a Mendocino Sangiovese with my food. The Vitamin C Salad was flavorful and a bit unique with its pistachio vinaigrette dressing. Fresh ingredients in all the food. My Margherita pizza was a rectangular 8 piece gem, with vivid tomato flavors and ample cheese. The crust was equally delicious and suited the pizza just right. I would definitely return to try some of the different other selections. This is a place worth navigating to. Boas opened up only a few months after we moved to the neighborhood and it's been such a gem ever since. It's low key one of the best coffee spots in the area in addition to being a genuinely good breakfast, lunch and dinner spot. The pizzas and sandwiches may not be made in a fancy oven, but the dough they use has so much flavor. The toppings they use are all excellent combinations. It's by far our favorite place on Balboa and is also the closest to us. If I had an open morning, I'll go there occasionally to work (using my own hotspot) while having breakfast or we will go on the weekends for the happy hour and early dinner. Wow! This is such a great hidden gem in Outer Richmond! It's definitely a place only known by the locals and not talked about enough! We stopped by on a nice sunny weekend and the vibe was very nice. I am so delighted to have found Boa's CVC in the outer Richmond, SF. Boa's CVC (on Balboa St.) is I a Cali-Italian café that somehow feels both elevated and super cozy at the same time. Boa is a great neighborhood spot. It's a nice casual vibe and great add to the Outer Richmond neighborhood. It's a modern vibe with ample seating. Sometimes the wait can be a little brutal if they are busy, but the service is good. The mint matcha latte was my favorite but they aren't really consistent in flavor and it's not as good when they first opened. The food itself it pretty good. I'm a big fan of their sandwiches and I love their banana bread dessert. Overall, worth a try if you're in the neighborhood, but be aware that the wait can take a minute if they are busy. Recommended lunch stop in Outer Richmond, Boa's is quaint and food is delicious. Open concept restaurant seating only about 16 ppl inside and 8-10 people outside on the sidewalk. Dogs welcome outside. I was misunderstood by the Yelp photos when I saw the Margherita pizza and the order came out a sandwich. Deconstructed all parts tastes like a pizza and if you close your eyes the dough of the bread tastes phenomenal. Sandwich is good and tomatoes are so fresh. We randomly bumped into this posh cafe on a city hike with our dog. We were so hungry and needed a break after 4 miles. This was the perfect rest stop. The menu is simple - some appetizers, breakfast sandwiches, a few salads and the main attraction is the sandwiches. The bread they use is very unique. Super thin but had a nice bite to it. Definitely a cute cafe atmosphere! Had nice natural lighting and open space. Service is friendly and attentive. Items ordered: Mozzarella Salad - simple dish with mozzarella, tomatoes and arugula drizzled with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Very good, probably the best dish - light and refreshing. Mushroom Toast - wanted to really like this, and although a healthy, clean dish, it was missing some sort of wow factor to it. Had higher expectations for this but it didn't come across. I appreciate the earthy mushroom flavor, but just something missing. Meatball in Red Sauce - wanted to like this too, but just not the typical meatball dish you'd expect. Friend got a coffee and I got a lemonade. Regular drinks. But added to the cafe vibes. Four stars for the cute cafe vibes, but food is three stars. Boa's has been long awaited by my family who was eager to have a restaurant with Italian offerings within walking distance and we were not disappointed! The interior is sleek and modern with a beautiful bar for single diners and although the space itself is on the cozier side, I think its perfect for a date night. That said, we went with our young daughter and they are very accommodative to families as well. I will have to try their coffee and baked goods! Onto the food - which is top notch! Their flour for the breads are imported from Italy and they bake everything fresh daily. High quality flour from Italy is heaven sent for those with mild gluten sensitivities. Bruschetta - the bread is to die for and the tomatoes were super fresh and flavorful. A great way to prep the tastebuds for what is to come. Margarita Pizza - this 12inch pie was a marvel. Slightly thicker crust than a true Neapolitan style pizza with the perfect ratio of sauce to crust to cheese. Chicken Pesto Sandwich - pulled white meat chicken, pesto, cheese, tomato and arugula wrapped in their homemade bread. Excellent combo. We were really happy with our dinner and just wished the portions were bigger because everything was so tasty. Can't wait to come back. Boa's is a great new spot near Ocean Beach which opened up this week. It's just a short 10-minute walk away. It's this corner store with lots of natural light and inviting decor. It seemed like a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some coffee so I decided to give it a try. Coffee was good. They source their beans from 11th Hour in Santa Cruz so they don't have their own brand of roastery. I also tried their chocolate chip banana bread, which was super tasty and paired well with the coffee. Their menu seems to focus on Italian (inspired) salads and sandwiches, and while I didn't try those this time, they looked pretty good. I'll definitely be back to check them out. For now, I'd give them a solid 4/5 for coffee and snacks, it's not the best coffee in SF, but it's still really good. Combined with the vibe, service, location, and food options, I'd say this place is worth a visit. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Came here after a run and only got two things but wanted to review them. This place is super cute and I definitely want to come back and get a whole meal. The vanilla latte is not good, don't recommend because the vanilla syrup has that artificial flavor. The coffee itself was fine I think? Next time I go, I'll get a plain latte and update. This place is such a gem. The line was too long at other restaurants on Balboa so we headed a few blocks down to Boa's. I'm sooo glad we did. The vibe was chill, quiet, and casual. No line. No wait. No crowds. My family had the margarita, the meatball, and the mushroom/arugula pizzas. They were so good that I went ahead and ordered desserts, even though I hadn't planned on it. The pizzas were delicious so I figured the desserts weren't to be missed! We landed on the s'mores calzone and chocolate banana bread.
