I'm actually giving this spot a 3.5 but rounding up to 4 because the Agua Fresca was excellent as well as portion sizes and packaging were on point for delivery. So while I can't speak to in person service or decor the delivery is on point. My peachy salad was just ok. The chicken was cold and not crunchy, and the cornbread crumbles were not crunchy at all, like kind of in between stale and crunchy... weird combo. Peaches and pickled onions were awesome though. The dressings that it came with which were a bbq sauce and some type of special ranch also were a weird combo, glad it was on the side vs in the salad itself otherwise I'm not sure I would have eaten it. Crispy cauliflower was good but definitely not crispy at all! Probably got softer on delivery but definitely not something that should be advertised as crispy when it's not... I've now been 3 times and each time it just was nothing impressive and definitely not worth $20+. This most recent visit I ordered their steak salad with caramelized onions and croutons - big miss here. Steak was barely flavorful, quite cold even though it was "cooked on the spot". The caramelized onions were cold and nothing out of this world - if anything because they were chilled, they lost a bit of their flavoring. The croutons were nonexistent, I almost had to go back and ask if they could add some until I found 3-4 at the very bottom of my bowl. A lot of greens which was good, good serving there. I got a side of focaccia and that was delicious (do wish they offered to toast it a bit, it'd be that much more yummy!). As for my other visits, same applies - unfortunately it's just an overpriced salad I know I can make better at home. Not to mention 1 of my visits was a pickup order and they completely forgot my dressing on the side. All in all, I am very let down by this place. Dare I say I love and prefer it to be Sweet Green. Mixt opened up a branch in the Inner Sunset and my hubby wanted to try them. We had the Napa Sandwich featuring grilled chicken, sliced apples, cheddar cheese, walnut pesto, arugula and aioli. So delicious with lots of texture--tangy, crunchy and fresh from the apples. We also tried their Falaf 2.0 (salad) which is refreshing with some sweetness (grapes) and creaminess (avocado) combined with a zesty lemon tahini sauce. MIXT in the Sunset is one of our favorite spots! We come here about once a week and absolutely love it. There are so many healthy choices, and my favorite is the Peachy Salad with extra chicken. It's HUGE--honestly big enough to share! The staff is always friendly, the restaurant is clean, and there are so many delicious salad options to choose from. I also love their rewards/card program. Ordered one of their salads and I could tell that their employees were still trying to work out a system between online orders, in person orders, and cashier. Service was a bit slow as they were bumping into each other trying to work on different orders and tasks. The space is really nice and the ceilings are high. There's a fair bit amount of seating inside and when I went for lunch, there were 5-6 people there grabbing lunch with friends or eating lunch while reading a book. My first experience at a Mixt & it was SO delicious! Service was so quick & staff were very friendly. Great location in Inner Sunset. Ingredients are fresh! So many salad options & you can even make your own salad. I got the Jing Chili Crisp salad and substituted the chicken for tofu - great flavor, especially loved the tofu! Loved the dressing as well and overall texture. My friend got the Peachy Salad and she enjoyed as well - particularly the chicken. Portion sizes are very fair along with the pricing. Ambiance is modern aesthetic in there. Only downside is the high ceilings make the environment very loud, sometimes making it hard to have conversations. Love this place & will be back! read more

As with other MIXT locations, the Inner Sunset restaurant is much more than just another fast casual salad joint with the option to build your own. Their dressings are terrific and the dishes are thoughtfully composed, not just a slapdash amalgam of buzzy ingredients. That said, my major note is that the amount of greens in the box (kale in my case) is simply absurd. It is a textbook case of shrinkflation wherein the container appears full but only the top quarter has anything besides kale. The greens are fresh (you could actually make a second meal with them), but they throw the ratios way out whack. If you didn't remove some of it, the dressing would be spread way too thin and you'd be hunting for flavor amid the roughage. You can see in my two photos the "before" and "after" shots: the first immediately after opening the box and the second after having taken out about half the kale but none of the other ingredients. The overall volume drops precipitously. After rejiggering the ratios, it is a wonderful meal, but these containers ought to have a better balance. Right now, you could make 75% of the salad for $1 at the grocery. That said, the Parmesan Peppercorn dressing is fire. read more

Stopped in to check out their new location. I got a couple salads to go. It's bright and clean inside and my order was ready to pick up on time. The salads were fresh and delicious but portions and portions of protein seemed small for the price. One salad had chicken and the other steak. We asked for utensils in our order and also didn't find any in the bag so made it a bit hard but found some eventually elsewhere to eat our food. read more

They do not wash the greens! I found a large piece of dirty irrigation hose in my salad! When you pay $20 for a salad, you expect it to be delicious. I hope management changes policy and they start washing and drying the greens before serving to customers. read more

I wanted to love the newest Mixt location that opened closest to me, so I went to try it this Tuesday for dinner. The location of this new salad shop is convenient and central. It's in the bustling part of the Inner Sunset neighborhood, right by the entrance to Golden Gate Park and the San Francisco Botanical Garden. It was around 8:10pm when I arrived and the staff was busy fulfilling online pick-up orders. They didn't have the option to view a paper menu and I found the font of the menu on the TV screens to be quite small. I had previously tried the Bachan's bowl ($14.95) at the Cow Hollow location and loved it there so I ordered it again, after finally grabbing the attention of an employee that was hard at work fulfilling pick-up orders. The salad making station was messy and all sorts of ingredients were scattered everywhere. Things like cheese and smashed rice were stuck onto my bowl and required cleaning after I received it. Most of their ingredient bins were near empty, and my bowl got the leftovers of edamame, scallions, and a few other things. The amount of chicken that was put onto my bowl was abysmal - 2 or 3 tiny pieces were grabbed and cut into small chunks which resulted in 4 or so actual pieces of chicken and 10 or so pieces of fried batter - the photo of my bowl may be deceiving as very few pieces of fried batter contained any chicken. It was disappointing watching them make my food and skimp on ingredients, and it was reflected in the less than satisfying meal. The tables at the restaurant had not been cleaned and forks not replenished. I was really hoping to enjoy this newest Mixt location but unfortunately, this visit was a miss. I will consider going to a different location for a better experience and for better tasting food, but I may give this one another try due to sheer convenience, in the hope of a better experience. read more

Napa sandwich was the perfect size! Salads looked huge. Service was great! Clean, nice looking but close quarters. Might be best to get your stuff to go and find a park bench. Parents- there's no diaper changing table in the large restroom. Also I didn't see a ADA button for the front door which made it hard to pull open while carrying my food to the outdoor table. read more

Delicious salad (Cobb) and bowl (Taco Bowl). Ingredients must have come directly from the farm because everything was super fresh and vibrant. Friendly staff and warm, welcoming space.
