Quick in n out for food! If you are in the neighborhood, it is worth stopping by if you're craving falafel but wouldn't go out of my way.

I enjoy visiting Taboun for a quick lunch or dinner. Their vegetarian entrees are tasty. I appreciate the kindness of the staff every time I arrive. Ordered through Yelp for pick-up this time and was slightly disappointed with the falafel was not even warm. (previously the falafels were fried right in front kitchen and served perfectly cooked and hot). I suggest order at the counter upon arrival and wait for the meal for dine-in. They have a lovely dining space. My partner was not impressed by the chicken shwerma wrap... I will return to try again. Thank you.

Yummy food, friendly fast service, great value! The vegetarian plate was beautiful, plentiful and delicious. The plate came with warm pita bread and we also got the pistachio baklava to complete our perfect lunch. Place was cozy comfort.

I ordered the beef and lamb shawirma plate with hummus and salad, to go, and it was so yum! It was also huge. I wish there was a bit more sauce (I'm a sauce gurl) on the rice and meat but overall pretty good. It also comes with a side of yummy warm pita. I also got some falafels and they were so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, delicious! This lasted me a couple meals.

It's been sometime since I last visited. Taste is still legit, portion has shrank.. yes inflation, but as a consumer I am not so sure I am happy with my portion. Stomach still feeling little empty after my meal. Nice and clean place to sit down for a meal in the neighborhood.

I walked into this quiet spot for lunch after a long morning at the hospital. I was happy to see they had Chicken Shawarma on the menu. The restaurant was quiet around 2 PM, and I could see the meat cooking behind the counter. I was excited to taste it! I ordered the Shawarma with a fizzy mineral water. The chicken wasn't as tasty as I hoped, though. It needed more seasoning, and didn't have the strong flavors I expected from Shawarma. On the bright side, it wasn't tough, and there were lots of fresh veggies in the wrap like cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. There were also some pickles which added a nice tang. But for $14, I was expecting a lot more flavor. It's a bit too much money for a meal that didn't wow me. I don't think I'd go back for the Chicken Shawarma. The place was nice, and the service was fast, but the food just didn't match up to the price.

We had a fabulous luncheon today and everything was delicious!!! It's a rarity to find a place that makes fresh falafels!!! Actually they make everything fresh!! The place is so charming and the owners are very welcoming. We ordered almost everything and everything thing was perfect I wish the photos were better but we couldn't wait to dive right in. Portions are very generous. We had the lamb & beef shiskabobs over rice, the hummus, bobaganush, dolmas, tabouli, falafels, chicken shawarma wrap along with their home made hot sauce. YUM!!!!

5 stars on my order for pick-up! Ready right on time. Ordered Chicken shwarma wrap, Veggitarrian Combo comes with hummus, babaganoosh, cucumber Salad, taboule, pita, falafel, grape leaves: so good! I ordered extra falafel & hummus to go with the Shwarma wrap dinner. Dinner for two people and leftovers also! Great quality, great food.

Beef Shish Kabab Plate with Taboun Salad & Baba Ghanouj

I came here for lunch yesterday with my best friends & was pleasantly surprised! One of them recommended this spot but since he hadn't been here for a few years we were worried it wouldn't be as good. Luckily it exceeded our expectations! It's a smaller place and a little pricer but the portions are definitely worth it! I ordered the beef shish kebab with Taboun salad & falafel. They accidentally gave me baba ghanouj instead so ended up giving me some falafel on the side. I didn't mind and it would've been okay if they didn't give me the falafels but really appreciated that Jose went above and beyond to correct it. My best friends ordered the lamb-beef shawarma plate & the lamb shish kebab plate. The beef shish kebab, lamb-beef patties & the lamb shish kebab were all so good & smelled delicious! My friend said the humus was a little too sour for her. I really liked the Taboun salad because it was the perfect amount of citrus. And the falafels, omg the falafels!!! So perfectly golden brown, crispy and flavorful! I didn't try the baba ghanouj since eggplant is not my thing but my friends did say it was really good. I'll definitely have to come back since my bf loves falafels too!

Added a drizzle of lemon juice from the wedge to make my whole veggie platter incredibly scrumptious! Pickled olives and dried red beets, spicy salsa, and hummus dip, complete with oven roasted pita bread. I chose the bottled salty yogurt drink, but switched to a bottled non-alcoholic fruity spritzer instead. Roasted cauliflower; so fluffy. Eggplant chunks; nice and chewy outer layer. Platter's overall; oh so filling. Barely have knafeh room for dessert that's truly pistachio. Abu Salim Middle Eastern Grill had a very colorful yet same spacey joint that Burger Urge left behind. Service with an added touch of Arab hospitality came out brilliant. Be back to savor any dessert for takeout the next time I swing by. We are not olive ppl sadly but I tried one and it was pretty okay. The service was great and all the servers were super attentive and accommodating. The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good. The meat combo was good overall and everything was very herbally spiced, I wasn't impressed by the lamb tho but the kebab, hummus, and chicken were great! I haven't had Mousakhan before so not sure how it should taste but to me it was sweet and savory with really well cooked chicken. I honestly felt pretty healthy overall cause I was eating hella veggies and everything tasted so fresh. The kunafa was good we got it crispy and was yummy imo but was a lil oily (I think this is normal tho). Arab food isn't really spicy but it is spiced and very herbal which I felt in the food here, I appreciate that chili sauce is provided for the spice lovers. Overall, would highly recommend. It was about $100ish for everything and they recently increased their prices but tbh the portion sizes are huge and I feel like it is so worth it we had hella leftovers. If we had 4 ppl instead of 2 it would've been perfect portions for everyone.

The Combo Kebab Plate was an equally delicious collection of three grilled meat kebabs--I chose the chicken shish tawook, the lamb shish kebab, and the ground beef kafta. My favorite components of these dishes were the falafel and hummus, which went perfectly together with the grilled pita and the flavorful condiments. But a final favorite dish of mine was the Zahra Be Laben, a stew of fried cauliflower and tender cubes of lamb in a warm garlic yogurt sauce, served with yellow rice and pita bread on the side. When we got there, it was extremely busy inside and outside, but despite the anticipated wait, we were seated within 5 minutes or so. As a heads up, the Cole Valley location is very small. There is seating inside and outside, but it is pretty loud inside (not that it detracted from our meal). We noticed there was a lot of take out orders coming through, so it seems like this place is equally popular for takeout, which makes sense given it's small size (they do not take reservations). We started off with the mezze sampler, which has lebna, muhammara, baba ganoush, hummus, pickles, and falafel. We all loved the sampler, although we noticed it didn't come with a lot of pita bread. Since most of our entrees were also coming with pita bread, it wasn't an issue. I particularly enjoyed the lebna, which was super creamy but had a nice tang that rounded out the flavor. The hummus and baba ganoush were also very good, and the muhammara was rich and had a great flavor. My mom got the falafel platter, my dad got the grilled hanger steak, my partner got the musakhan and I got the chicken shish tawook plate. My mom really enjoyed the falafel platter. It was super loaded with falafel, baba ganoush and hummus. The falafels were really good. They were nicely fried, but still had a soft and tender interior. My dad liked the hanger steak, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The green zhug sauce was interesting, and the freekeh had a nice nutty and earthy flavor. Our favorites were the musakhan and the chicken shish tawook plate. The musakhan had a really interesting sweet/savory spiced flavor, and was complemented really nicely with the caramelized onions, sumac, pine nuts and toasted pita. The skin had a nice crispness but the chicken was super tender. The chicken shish tawook was definitely my favorite. The chicken had an incredible, charcoal-grilled taste and was super tender without being dry or overcooked at all. This was the best bite I've had all year, and I loved dipping the grilled chicken in the lebna, muhammara, baba ganoush and hummus that remained from our sampler plate. Highly, highly recommend this place. Super reasonable prices for generous portions of super flavorful food. Next time, we'd love to try the lamb shank and branzino.

Overall, a hectic memorable adventure for yummy food.

I think the sauce should have been on the side. The rest of the dish was good. 4/5 LAMB KEBAB PLATE ~ this was my dish. I touched my skewers thinking they were going to be hot, but it was surprisingly cold. I'm not sure why skewers would be cold when the food should be hot right off the grill. The lamb was cooked medium rare as I requested, though there was little to no seasoning. So it was kind of gamey and tasteless 3/5 RACK OF LAMB PLATE ~ my partner chose this dish. The lamb was also very light in seasoning. The pistachio rice was interesting and nutty. Asparagus was good. 3.5/5 MIXED GRILL PLATE ~ our friend enjoyed this dish. Maybe a mixed grill is the way to go and some meats cooked and seasoned better than others. 4/5 BEEF KEBAB PLATE ~ the beef was also room temperature and lightly seasoned. 3.5/5 SALMON ~ I tried some of this and it was decent. 4/5 BAKLAVA & CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE ~ Nice birthday surprise and a sweet way to end the meal. Baklava wasn't as crispy or flaky as some I've had, but the honey-pistachio nuts were good.
