This guys is creepy as f#€£. He walked into my house and rather than following me to the bathroom to inspect the issue, he spent 5 minutes lingering in my living room looking at my belongings and commenting on them while taking to me about God. I eventually got him to focus and follow me the extra 20 ft to the bathroom. I was already feeling he was a bit off. He took one look at the problem from 5feet away (I just needed a toilet flange replaced) and started telling me that this was a huge job. I hadn't done a toilet flange replacement before and had called him based on some glowing reviews from folks on my neighborhood FB group. This whole debacle started out because my toilet had a septic smell and I figured it might just be a wax ring replacement as I'd done several times before in previous homes. Turned out the flange was in bad shape, so I thought I'd hire a pro. Anyhow, without even getting down to look at the flange he started telling me he'd have to tear out a lot of piping and asked to see the basement, I should have told him to leave but I figured I would see where this was going. Walked him down to look at the piping from below and his eyes light up. He started telling me he has to cut and replace a ton of old cast iron piping and that I need a clean out installed. I pointed to the existing clean out and he says "oh, you do have one. That's good. I don't see it" it was literally in front of him at waist height the whole time. He them spends 30 minutes quoting g me all sorts of "options" starting at $2000 and going up to $5000 without giving any detail. All while waiving my comments and questions away like I'm an idiot. It took me forever to get him out of my house as he went back and forth from trying to fast talk me into spending thousand of dollars without any specifics and taking about god and how I should thank god because he provides everything. Then he goes of on 5 minutes of telling me that he makes obscene amounts of money and flashes me his expensive Rolex watch. After that, I decided to post my photos to Reddit's ask a plumber forum and a couple master plumbers came to my rescue and told me exactly what actually needed doing and how to DIY up to code. I took a drive to Home Depot, bought what was needed and spend a couple hours doing a fix that actual master plumbers told me was perfectly within code and should last me a long time. I looked him up on the Washington government website, He is licensed at a journeyman level. I'm sure he's a decent plumber but he seems like a huckster and a proselytizer. He is also far from humble bragging about how much money he makes. Probably from a lot of folks who run across this yelp page while stressing over pricey plumbing repairs. If you need a journeyman plumber to upsell you on things and force his religious view on you while talking down to you like an ignorant child, this is your guy. read more

As a homeowner, this is the kind of plumbing stuff we fear. Expensively priced, plumber. Incomplete/faulty job and then won't back up the their work. Zoltan is initially responsive, came out immediately to provide a quote. No price advantage. He was as costly as major companies. ($1,100) But we wanted the job done right. Or, so we thought. So we hired him. The job he said 'would take an entire day'. He finished in less than 4 hours...but charged the same ($1,100). Hmmm, a bit suspect, but we paid in-full anyway. And he left and saying if there any further problems, to call him. Sure enough within 2 weeks, the same pipes began to leak again - actually this time, fairly aggressively. We called him immediately. He was astonishingly belligerent, initially denying that anything he did was substandard (literally said, "After I fix this, I never want to hear from you again!" But then he calmed down and apologized for the outburst. Okay, that was seriously bizarre behavior. But we just wanted this solved. He came out a second time. This time he charged another $100. He said he used extra supplies. Again suspect. But we just wanted this fixed and done with. Now we have leaks again, precisely the same pipes. Within weeks of his work. At this point we will need to have same work completely redone. $1,200 dollars completely wasted for leaky indoor, pipes. Never would never call, or use him again. Neither should anyone. read more

I had to replace a 15-plus-year old kitchen sink faucet on short notice and because I had worked with Zoltan before, I called him right away. Although Zoltan is a likeable plumber I found on Craigslist, several factors influenced me to write this review. So while I really wanted to root for this independent company, I could not do so for the reasons below. 1. He told me over the phone he'd charge $80 for the diagnostic, but instead charged $107 ($98+tax) 2. Since he wanted cash for the job, he pressured my husband to go to get a generic faucet head 3. Said the quote was discounted if we wrote a positive Yelp review for him 4. Called Sears and got a slightly cheaper quote (although that, too, had undisclosed fees which added an almost extra $300) 5. Quoted for an expansion tank which is not required where we live (but is for a neighboring jurisdiction) -- which added a part + labor 6. Couldn't come back until five days later, and only if we notified him within a day Nothwithstanding the above, our service call did have some positive aspects. 1. Arrived early instead of late 2. Licensed plumber according to state law (which a lot of Craiglist "plumbers" aren't) 3. Accurately diagnosed the problem 4. Friendly, courteous, and clean 5. I really liked working with Zoltan. Just like the business name suggests, when you call "Zoltan the Plumber", you get Zoltan himself. My condo tenants had already been out of hot water for a day before I started calling for service. This could easily have become an emergency, as the first nearly dozen places I called either were booked, didn't want to deal with condos, didn't work in Belltown, or specifically didn't work on water heaters. Zoltan was also extremely busy, but managed to arrange for coming out within a few hours of when I called, and even gave an itemized estimate over the phone. Absolutely awful. He was five hours late from the time I was told. Came in, cut me off several times while I was trying to explain and didn't let me demonstrate the problem. Incredibly rude, left without closing the door (I have an indoor cat!). Thankfully my landlord was able to get someone in that was willing to do the work, and they did a phenomenal job. There was a pipe that had backed up and burst in the wall, and they were willing to get it done with no hassle. I made the mistake of using a questionable plumber off of craigslist by the name of Marcus. He was supposed to replace my bathtub and prep the new shower faucet. He did everything wrong and never returned my phone calls. I called Zoltan and he came out and did an amazing job!
