I have used All Star for several years. The work they've provided has ranged from malfunctioning a/c, furnace and routine maintenance. Every technician they've sent or that I've spoken to after hours has been courteous, patient, and willing to go above my expectations to help resolve issues. The last few years, I've had the same technician service my units. Devan A. This has been especially helpful as the continuity has provided the ease of ongoing care to keep everything optimally operational. Devan is an excellent communicator as he takes the time to explain things in laymen terms. He also listens patiently as I try to explain things or play audios of sounds my fan has made. I've had several technicians, and of all the ones over these years who have offered top notch service, he goes far above that. The office is also helpful when I'm scheduling and calls when he is on his way. From what I can tell, this is a small local business, which I love supporting. We are grateful to All Star Heating and Air Conditioning for recent help with malfunctioning furnace. If I could add more stars to express my appreciation, I would. Our furnace showed symptoms of intermittently locking up overnight, stopping heating and I had to turn it off \ on to reset it for several mornings. We were worried about how long it may take to troubleshoot and order parts, if needed, because in several upcoming days our grandkids were about to stay with us for a week and November is a cold month. Mary from the shop, after I explained the concern, helped and bumped up our service appointment to the earliest possible time for us. Brandon arrived next day, was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. He quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. He also explained how more regular maintenance schedule would have eliminated this malfunction. We are quite thankful to the team for their help. We have used All Star several times, recently for annual maintenance. This time we had an emergency during the extreme cold last weekend. We expected to pay a premium for after hours/weekend service. We called and was told that the technician would call when he could as they were very busy - as expected. When Brandon (who we knew previously) called, he ran through some basic questions and then asked my husband if he could look for error codes displayed on the furnace. There were none and after after brainstorming over the phone, he suggested we change batteries for the thermostat. It worked! We paid nothing and were so appreciative that rather than coming out and charging us for an emergency visit - we were able to diagnose and fix over the phone - for free! I'm on my 4th call approaching an hour time waste. I called because our heater won't fire and waited 10-20 minutes on hold each time. I explained my situation to 3 different people and they hung up 3 times! I am beyond irate and frustrated! I even provided my cell number to the second caller in case I got cut off a second time. This review is to explain why I am a huge fan of Devan A / All Star Heating. It was 5:30 on a Friday evening. The heat was out and the temperatures were forecast to drop on the weekend. I called around, and no HVAC techs were available. Then Devan from All Star called back and offered to visit on a Friday evening for an evaluation. When I explained that the inducer motor in the furnace wasn't turning on, Devan said based on the sequence if the inducer motor was the problem he wouldn't be able to fix since the part would not be available till Monday at the earliest. Then he suggested investigating to see if the thermostat was the problem and offered to guide me over the phone. This was clearly above and beyond since he was talking himself out of an after hours ticket. But he just wanted to help us get heat up before the coming cold front. With Devan helping on FaceTime I bypassed the thermostat. And voila the furnace roared back to life. After speaking with Devan, I had a long call with Amazon Support, and together we were able to get the heat up, just in time for a cold weekend. Thank you Devan! read more

Talked to Rachael and tried to get a simple rough estimate of cost for an AC unit and typical install costs for a small 1 level home, they went back and forth with me without telling me anything for days when other companies would be very clear and helpful. in the end they quoted me 5 times more than any other company and when I asked why so expensive responded "this is why we need to come look at the house" instead of breaking down cost estimate as I asked. big waste of time unfortunately :/ read more

I called All Star to fix an AC issue that I had been having. I was getting alternating periods of weak and strong cold air flow. When the technician came, he told me that he couldn't fix anything because I had left the AC on and the coils were frozen. They still charged me the on call fee of 93.51 (96 because I used card). I was irritated that they came for five minutes and charged me the fee for doing 0 work and wasted my time. When I called All Star to report the situation, I asked if they could at least transfer the call fee to next time since they did 0 work this time. They refused to. This made me angry because I didn't know that I had to leave the AC off at least a couple days before. I had clearly described the AC issue when I scheduled the appointment, but they gave me no pre-arrival instructions with their excuses being "we didn't know the AC was still blowing air" and "we didn't know it was dripping water". These aren't legitimate excuses because they have been in the industry for years and should know how to give simple pre-arrival instructions to prevent this situation from happening. Ultimately they refused to help me in any way and I got scammed the call fee. If I could give a negative star rating I would. Thanks All Star for valuing your call fee over LOYAL customers. read more

AllStar did our annual A/C and heater maintenance when the installation company gave us the runaround. They also did duct cleaning and gas fireplace maintenance. Brandon did all the maintenance and was fantastic. He was professional, answered all my questions and did a great job. Fireplaces work great and HVAC is doing well. The duct cleaning team also did a wonderful job. Will definitely be using AllStar for all our future maintenance. read more

I hate to rate All Star with only 2 stars....but after some deep thought I feel compelled to write a review and rate them accordingly, and to tell my story.... First...the good stuff.....   All Star were professional and timely with their estimates and installation of my new furnace.  I was very happy with the work that they did (except for one thing...), and it was reasonably priced. Now, the not-so-good stuff..... When they completed the installation, they commented on keeping a log of when I changed furnace filters, and said that the filters should be changed frequently so as to take advantage of the warranty with furnace manufacturer, should the need arise. I was pleased when I noticed that they'd left me with several spare filters, and impressed with the type of filter....these were not your typical 16x25x1 filters that you get at the local hardware store, but rather, they were pretty large impressive looking filters!   What I did not know at the time, was that these filters are extremely hard to find (nope...not available at local hardware store...), and they are quite expensive!! After some time had elapsed and I used up the spare filters.... I could not find any place to purchase replacement filters, the particular dimensions of the filter did not seem to exist anywhere...so I contacted All Star to see what info they had on where to buy them. Unfortunately, things seemed to go 'round and 'round a bit with All Star, but they said they would supply me with filters once their order came in.  There was never any discussion on price...until I happened to drop by their location in Fall City to pick up the filters...and was told that the filters cost $50 each!!!   YEP!!....FIFTY DOLLARS FOR ONE STINKIN' AIR FILTER!!! Frankly....I WAS SHOCKED!!! I could see that the staff realized how shocked I was as I processed all of this and declined to purchase the filters....a staff member said that they could retrofit my furnace installation to accommodate the standard 16x25x1 size filter (after I mentioned that my old furnace they replaced used this size...), however, I have never heard back from All Star since this encounter.... Long story short....it seems to me that All Star purposely does their installations to require these hard-to-find expensive furnace filters, in order to create an ongoing revenue stream from customers like me that don't know beans about furnace filters!! SHAME ON ALL STAR FOR BEING SO DEVIOUS AND RUNNING THEIR BUSINESS IN SUCH A MANNER!!!! read more

My heater was not working and needed to get a service call. Although they were scheduled two weeks out, I was able to get an appt within 24 hours. Thankfully it was just a small issue with my thermostat and a new filter. Great customer service and professional tech. Don't hesitate to contact if service is needed. read more

Be careful. We had a full system put in over winter. New Furnace, new water heater, even a brand new HVAC unit. We paid a LOT of money!!! When the weather got warm we were excited to turn on our NEW A/C system. Guess what, IT DIDN'T WORK! We contacted the office, asked to speak to the owner, manager and have someone call us back. We got the run around, a bunch of excuses and never received a call back. I was stunned, our unit wasn't even a year old at the time. We contacted the manufacturer and even they were confused by the lack of response from All Star. We finally got someone out to look at it, at a cost of course, and they determined that it was a fault of the unit and apparently related to a 'power surge'. Interesting, since nothing else surged and two other companies who came out verified that, that wasn't the case. Anyway, we were quoted several thousand (yes, thousands) to repair the unit that we'd just installed. Even the manufacturer suggested we go with someone else and Trane agreed to cover a portion of the cost of the repairs due to no fault of ours and an almost new unit. Sadly, customer service is only good until it's bad and this was about as bad as it gets. Shop around. We always go local first, but in this case it was a big mistake, one we ended up paying deeply for. Oh and to speak to Michaels post, we also saw a bunch of add on charges in the quote. Good luck as long as your unit works, otherwise, come back and I'll share many reputable companies that Trane suggested over this company due to the way we were treated after the unit stopped working. I do hope this and other local businesses make it through this period, but I hope they also treat customers right when things go wrong. Like many, a furnace is a huge cost and I'm still paying for it. We got a loan for our furnace, so imagine just how disappointed we were when we had to pay twice! read more

I have called All-Star Heating and AC over the years to service my outdoor gas furnace. I was always pleased with the service - until recently. I called All-Star to look at my furnace as it stopped heating. A young man came and looked at the furnace, and charged me $203 for that. Then All-Star sent another man out to look at the furnace. He's the one who estimates what it would cost to replace or repair the furnace. He gets back to me to tell there are no other furnaces to replace what I have and no repair available. Sigh. I called another HVAC company, and he looked at the furnace and asked various questions about windows, insulation, etc. And right there and then, he gave me a bid to REPLACE THE FURNACE. Hmmm. All-Star said no replacements were available. Needless to say, I am quite disappointed in the round-around I got from All-Star. It seems All-Star just didn't want to be bothered by my project. read more

The price was reasonable, they cleaned up after themselves, and all around it was a really good experience. My experience with them was not very good. I had a furnace problem and called them. A technician came to my house and diagnosed that I need to replace the blow motor and pay around $1,500. I approved the replacement and another technician came 6 days later. The technician came for the replacement was skillful and kind, but the furnace didn't work properly even after the replacement. He did some more tweaking and then it worked properly. I asked him what was the issue, but he abruptly turned silent and told me he didn't want to waste his time to explain it. He also told me to google it when I asked him about maintenance, and then hurried out. It was so strange that I suspect that he was hiding something, but cannot tell what it was. read more

Moe and Rene from Allstar Heating and Cooling were on time, very efficient, and conducted a thorough diagnostic on my air conditioning system. They checked the outside units for several things and the inside duct system for lots of other things that would lead to a good working system. They we're honest and showed me all of the numbers they got from their inspection. They give an honest price and excellent attention to detail. You can trust these guys and this company. read more

I just moved into a new house and one of the first orders of business was to get a heat pump put in with an air filtration system. Our climate makes a heat pump worth the money and I hate it when my house gets too hot to sleep, even if it doesn't happen all that frequently. I talked to some friends who recommended All-Star and I did some additional research by looking up their profile on the Better Business Bureau website. Between what friends said and their A+ BBB rating, I was ready to do business. A sales rep came to the new house and after inspecting it, sat down with me to go over my options. He was detailed in pointing out the pros and cons of each system type, but never did I feel pressured to buy only the best and most expensive. Noise level was high on my list so I decided on a quieter unit that was middle of the road in terms of cost. I found that the quote for the air-filtration unit was right in the ballpark of what I assumed the cost would be so I purchased that as well and saved money in installation costs by having it all done at once. I contacted the office staff to get everything coordinated - contract signed, deposit down and an appointment scheduled. They were so great to work with. They were really friendly and when I wanted to move my appointment up, they were able to get me a new date. Everything else from there was easy. All-Star takes care of all prep, permits, the electrical contractor, etc and it's included in the quote you get. There's nothing worse than thinking you know what you're going to spend and then getting hit with additional charges that weren't in the fine print. Installation went very smoothly. Everyone showed up on time and got right to work. They actually finished up sooner than expected and they were able to run some wires that were going to have to be along the side of the house under a corner and into my garage. It was all going to be in the back were only we would see it, but it was nice that when they realized there was a more aesthetically pleasing option they did it that way. I couldn't have been happier with my overall experience with All-Star. I've already set up pre-paid maintenance and believe I will be doing business with them for a long time to come. read more

UNBELIEVABLE! In a great way! Robert called me back on a Saturday after leaving a message with his answering service. I told him about the issues with my furnace that I was having for the past several weeks of it being temperamental- not working all the time. I told everything I've tried doing to troubleshoot the problem. he spent atleast 15-20 minutes on the phone with me talking different points- going through different components of my system which is foreign to me. He gave me a few pointers on something else i can try doing, where to look and be careful since i was comfortable enough to try them. Long story short- i'm really happy with the customer service that was provided. I feel he went above what most may do. others did simply try to schedule the appointment first but I felt no pressure when speaking with Robert- honest and upfront- told me the high costs (worse case) and low costs (best case) of what could be wrong if the pointers he gave didn't work. I will certainly recommend and use him for any future issues with my furnace. read more

I had nothing but excellent service from both the office as well as the technician, Michael B that came out to service my unit. He was extremely informative and very thorough checking my AC for leaks. There were none. However, I needed the freon pipe moved out of the way to put a stacker washer/dryer unit beside the air conditioner unit. After meeting with Brent 2 times (the second time at his request), I never got a quote that was promised twice. I emailed him first, but no response, so I called the office after the second promised date for a quote never came, and was told this was unacceptable practice, but after another 1 1/2 weeks, have still not heard from anyone. They may not want my business, but could have at least let me know after I spent my time meeting with their representative. Poor business practice. read more

We had our Furnace serviced and had a really good experience with AllStar for the Furnace servicing.. Very friendly, on time and technician was very professional and did a great job. However, we were quoted $299 for replacing the inducer motor and we ordered the motor and agreed on service... Afterwards they called back and said, sorry that motor is no longer available at that price and the new price is $475 60% increase in price after the quote and placing order was not ideal. I'll probably use them again in future but will make 100% sure of costs up front. read more

All Star came through for us today when our typical HVAC service company couldn't schedule us till Monday. We lost heat last night, and were intent on getting the issue fixed ASAP. We went with All Star based on yelp ratings. Serghei did a great job thoroughly diagnosing the issue, and was patient w/my questions. We got the sense that he was truly focused on helping us get things fixed instead of selling us stuff we didn't need, replacing parts that weren't broken (like we've seen with other shops). Called twice for a quote on fixing the AC. They did the service before we closed so they know what is broken. Both times I was told service department would get back to me and 3 weeks after the first call no answer, 2 weeks after the second call still no answer. Person answering the call was rude, impatient, and was yelled at by another employee (while I was on the phone and could hear) NOT to read the description of the problem on the phone. Apparently I am not allowed to know what is wrong with my AC. Will never call this company again. read more

My heat pump wasn't coming on and my house was sweltering. Called All-Star July 2 at 4PM; they were able to get Robert out by noon on July 3. A tech myself, I appreciated his excellent troubleshooting methodology. In short order, he had it isolated to a pinched condensation tube, probably due to my yard guy inadvertently moving the unit. Robert came up with a creative solution to prevent the tube from getting pinched again. Robert and Lonnie have both gone above-and-beyond with a rodent-caused duct problem a year ago as well. These guys are absolute superstars! Super friendly, but also reputable and trustworthy. I needed a blower assembly replacement for my furnace, and so far I'd had 2 other companies come out, charge me for an inspection, and tell me "just keep an eye on it" just because it wasn't making a noise when the tech was there. All Star understood the problem right away, just from me just describing the problem over the phone, and gave me a quote by email for the part replacement, inclusive of labor and everything else. Furnace was not working, so I went to a review site and found that All Star was at the top of the list. So I gave them a call and they sent out a service specialist (Robert F) the next morning. Robert was on time. He diagnosed the problem very quickly, and fixed it on the spot. He didn't charge me a penny over than their standard diagnosis fee, which was under $100. I was prepared for a larger bill, so this was a very pleasant surprise. All Star was very punctual, courteous, and inexpensive. I would highly recommend them! read more

All Star installed a new high efficiency Trane furnace for us and they are great. A real pleasure to work with very high integrity. ( They kept every promise they made and then some). As with many major repairs or upgrades to ones home there are often a few glitches or follow-up items, but the entire team at All Star took care of every glitch, every question (even my stupid ones) very quickly, efficiently and graciously. From the start, Matthew who provided the estimate spent a lot of time with me listening to my needs and how I would like to improve the evenness of the heat in the house. He provided 3 very detailed proposals & gave them to me the same day. I really felt he was honestly aiming to offer us the "right-sized" & best solution for our needs-not the highest price. Great follow-up from him even after the installation. The installation team was very nice & respectful of the work space and were meticulous in their clean up (a pet peeve I had shared in advance). The Service Manager and office staff are exceptional! Honestly, I cannot say how pleased we are. We will be using them again. In fact, I have been looking for someone to replace the company who services our gas fireplaces and HOORAY, AllStar offers this service too---so we are switching.
