Their reliability and ease of setting up the packing and move when I was not even able to be present and the timing was truly helpful. It was more expensive than I had ever paid for movers, even without the packing, and that's honestly why I could not give them full 5 stars. As a military member going through an honorable discharge to help my family in crisis while already injured myself, I had to empty out my own savings and my children's I had saved up over a 9-month deployment in the combat zone to move back to my family when they needed my help, not even sure if I could then provide for them. So while I really thank them for the job they did, I never financially recovered from that and I do ask Rock Movers to consider the vets or military members in San Diego and to complete a weight estimate for them to be reimbursed.

However - it was 90 degrees when they started at 9am and it only got hotter and more humid over the course of the morning/early afternoon. The team arrived on time and ready to get to work. While the origin home had a driveway that can easily be described as "steep," the new home's driveway makes the old one look like a tiny, gentle slope. It is so steep, the truck could not back up the driveway at all - the metal step on the back hung up on the concrete right at the bottom. It is also LONG: Maurice and TC now had to carry all of my stuff up that driveway, stage it in a flat area, and then carry it the rest of the way up a slightly lesser slope around the side and back of the house, of equal distance to the driveway, that finally lead to my door. It was not a good time. These two men were incredible - absolutely wonderful. They took excellent care of my stuff, yes, but they were also incredibly friendly and professional, had excellent, positive attitudes, and never complained once. They joked about it in a very good-natured way. I kept them supplied with cold drinks and cold, damp towels to make sure they survived the insane heat and hard work, encouraged them to take breaks, et cetera: They were working so hard, I was genuinely concerned for their well-being, but they are strapping young lads and persevered where I would have 100% perished. They were so kind about the miserable conditions. Their good humor and amazing work ethic got us all through the experience. Yes, we ran over our time estimate, but none of us realized the driveway was impassible for the truck, and that multiplied the work by easily a factor of 10 in this heat. I tipped them both $100 and wish I could've given them twice that - they more than earned it. Thank you, Team! You were great! I absolutely recommend Packman, and especially Maurice and TC - A+!

Do not book with these movers, I do not recommend , they were careless with my items/property…read more When they first started packing my items, they dropped one of the first boxes they picked up right outside the apartment which led to some of my cups breaking. They then forced my couch through the doorways causing damage to the new door to my new apartment, and left a lot of paint scrapes. Their responses were just "whoops" and "sorry" to both of these incidents, which they failed to report to the company/management. They misplaced couple items and put them elsewhere instead of keeping the items together which took me all day to find. Management said that movers are not authorized to offer a discount at the time of these incidents yet when I addressed them they were hesitant at first in taking accountability for this. After going back and forth about the door damages, the number they offered to reimburse me is not nearly enough for the repairs to the door, especially not at a luxury apartment. As a customer I was trusting the movers to handle my items with care and transport them carefully, that is what they were paid to do. On top of that, they seemed concerned that some items were "too heavy" if they needed to be moved up stairs at the new place. I reassured them they wouldn't need to take stairs at the new place, however that is what they were hired to do... maybe next time they need to bring an extra person or someone strong. If I was able to move the heavy items myself I would not have needed to hire anyone. They started slowing down towards the end and went way over time of the three hour window (to move one bedroom and living area items), resulting in higher charges at total cost. Yes all my items made it to the new place but at the expense of me facing damages at my new space and the experience of poor attitude/care.
