2 stars for customer service and 3 stars for the move. I hired Luke and his team about a year ago to unload a Uhaul. They did an OK job but can really improve on professionalism and customer service. Even though I scheduled a few days ahead, Luke didn't ask for my address until the the morning of the move, a few minutes before he was to show up. They showed up more than 20 minutes late with no apologies or explanation. I really rushed to get my new keys on time and get the moving truck to the location just to sit around waiting for them. So I started unloading the truck myself until Luke and his worker arrived. They showed up with moving blankets and other moving materials but they never unloaded them from their truck. On their website it showed they prep the doors, cover furniture with blankets, and lay down runners to protect damage but they didn't and my front door got small dings. My freshly painted walls were left with blue ink from the boxes being dropped against the walls. Most of my dishes were left broken. I've moved MANY times and never had an issue with dishes breaking since I wrap each item. They took 3 hours to unload a truck for a 1 bd apt with no major furniture besides a bed, a loveseat, a few small tables and boxes. it really seemed they were purposely moving slow to stretch the time out. They stopped and talked alot to each other laughing and joking like they were hanging out not charging quite expensive per hour. They leisurely moved a few boxes from the truck to the foot of the stairs a few feet away. No hustle or breaking a sweat here. I understand you have a 3 hr minimum but the unloading should have only taken 1.5 hrs then the rest of the time could have been spent helping me set up furniture and organizing the boxes to the right rooms but instead the boxes were left randomly everywhere and it was hard to then move all the boxes to the right rooms by myself after they left. Overall, they got the job done and got my stuff up the flight of stairs which is why I needed the help. At the end I personally wouldn't hire them again as it seemed my small job was not that important to the company. Never got a receipt, a thank you for your business, or anything. I recently moved again and had a very different experience with another company. read more

Awesome moving company! First and foremost, SUPER QUICK reply. Called me seconds after I sent the Yelp message - I was pretty amazed. Background: my boyfriend and I rented a truck and were going to do everything ourselves. His friend came by the night before to help with the really heavy stuff. Our giant couch wouldn't fit in the stairway (no clue how they got it in honestly). We realized we needed some professional help so I started scrambling to find someone. Luke called me immediately and quoted me a super reasonable price (better than any of the other companies that eventually replied). The next day, Luke was very communicative in regards to their arrival time (they had a job beforehand). Luke came with another worker and they were both very pleasant. They wrapped the couch quickly and well. They ended up using straps to lower it from the second floor hallway (my building is open). We ended up just hiring them to load up the entire truck and I'm so glad we did. They did it quickly and at a very reasonable rate. Idk what we were thinking - it would have taken my boyfriend and I forever to get everything done. I came on Yelp since CL had failed in finding a good mover. I read the reviews for a couple of companies and reached out. For the stuff I had I found two companies. When Luke replied back, I knew it would be easy to book and get the job done. Needless to say, Luke and his co-worker came to the U-Haul place and unloaded my UBox and loaded it into their truck in what I call record time. They got to my new apartment and unloaded quickly. Original plan was to have one of my buddies and myself with a small pick up truck move my mattress, dresser, tv stand, tv, etc. (you get the point). Did some calculations and on a Friday afternoon in San Diego, yeah that wasn't going to work. We would've had to make multiple trips in that traffic. Plus the heat. Nope. These guys not only helped me move but also helped me fix things, sell things, and even helped me organize my belongings at the new location. I was in a unique situation where I moved from San Diego to New York. At the time I didn't want to put all of my stuff in an expensive storage container. Luckily being born and raised in San Diego, I knew several people who I could leave my furniture and personal belongings with. This review is overdue. Luke and his crew helped to move out my whole home in Carmel Valley San Diego to Irvine California with no issues. Unfortunately I had a work emergency and we were able to coordinate the moving with my mom and brother who stayed in my Irvine home. ***This one star review is based on customer service, not the actual moving service.*** We decided to reach out to this business based on its amazing reviews so we reached out to Luke to get a quote and we were impressed he texted us immediately after leaving him a VM. After he called us back, we were happy with his quote, but disappointed he wasn't available the day we needed (a Saturday date). We understood he was booked. No big deal. There's no shortage of movers in SD. Nevertheless, he told us he did have availability on Friday or Sunday of that same week, just not Saturday. We told him we'd reach out to the leasing agent to see if we could change our moving date to Friday so that we could book him to help us out and get back to him ASAP about booking him for that Friday. However, when we reached out to him again 30 minutes later telling him we had been able to switch our moving date to Friday, he told us he was no longer available. When asked how come he was no longer available if we just spoken to him no longer than 30 minutes ago, his reply was "I get 30 calls a day my friend." While we understand that sometimes things don't work out, his response was pretty condescending, particularly after we had changed our moving date to be able to accommodate to his availability. We were truly upset because changing our moving date was not easy given that it requires paperwork and recalculating costs. The fact that his response was so nonchalant and unapologetic is truly unprofessional and flat out rude. Hence, I must say this: if as a business owner you don't want poor reviews to negatively impact your businesses, try to have better customer service and show a bit more professionalism, "my friend." read more
