I loveee Zoup! This location is great. The staff are friendly and the food comes out hot and fresh! If you are unsure of what kind of soup you would like, have no fear because you can sample before you buy! I tried the seafood chowder and lobster bisque, both were very good but I ended up going with the seafood chowder. It's been a couple of days since we had it and I'm wishing I was near another location to order more! We ended up ordering a brownie to share, and thought it may be even better heated up. The staff were nice and agreed to warm it up for us, and it was so warm and gooey. They are not paying attention to customers. I had to wait for an employee to decide to help me. As I was eating, a lady came in with feedback on a delivery. Instead of simply apologizing, the man who delivered the order and appeared to be the manager, started making excuses and raised his voice. The woman left upset. Then everyone left the front area and a customer waited about 5 minutes before an employee came up front. Great soup, terrible service. read more

WONDERFUL!!! Called and spoke with a crew member at lunch rush and asked to have her manger call our office to set up a lunch catering. Kevin called back and was very nice. I explained that we're doing a Lunch & Learn. I asked Kevin if he wanted us to go off their large menu or if he felt it would be better if he gave us a modified menu to work with. He gave us a modified menu and we loved it. We do not have a small group of people and we were asked to give at least a days notice with what everyone wanted. Easy! Zoup has been open for a few years and I finally tried it for lunch today. Great selection of soups, sandwiches, broth bowls a grain bowls. I had a zesty chicken lime broth bowl that was very tasty. This is my third time having Zoup. I've enjoyed it each time I've gone. The customer service is good and the food is good. I like soups, though. I always have the Pesto 3 cheese sandwich and it doesn't disappoint. As far as price, well, I'm from the Chicago area and to me the price is appropriate for a gourmet place. I have been told that other Chicago staples didn't make it here because people in the area didn't think the price was too high for the type of food (i.e, a famous pizza place didn't make it). This Zoups is the closest one near me, and it's over an hour away. I used to have one in my town but they shut down, and for my birthday every year we drive to this Zoups. I checked on the website 3 times that it closed at 8pm, and after driving over an hour, as I was walking to the door the employee ran and locked the door. It was only 7:15. They had a tiny sign that said they now closed at 7 for personal reasons. They should have updated their website. We drove over an hour for this. read more

My wife and I enjoyed a quality dinner that was ready quickly. We enjoyed being able to taste the available soups instead of blindly committing to a bowl and risk not liking, although it made it worse as enjoyed all that we tasted. I had the Lobster Bisque and my wife went with the Mushroom Bisque (which was my runner up), both had great flavor and my Bisque had a good amount of lobster pieces. Ordered 3 soups on line it said order would be ready in 16 mins Arrived 20 mins later called Zoup the girl said they were busy and order is not ready and it would be 5 mins wait I asked Will you bring it out or do I have come in? She said they would bring it out. 16 mins later I called again this time the guy said they don't do curbside pickup. Asked why did the girl say they did? So what should have taken me 45 mins took over 60 mins By the time I got home we had $25 worth of cold soup. So next time I opening up a can of soup it will be alot faster and cheaper. Zoup! is a unique concept that is needed here in South Bend. It serves a variety of hot soups rotated constantly into their available 12 pots. There are plenty of sandwich places in town, but this is the only place that primarily serves soup. Opening it just as winter begins is perfect, few things are as enjoyable as a nice warm bowl of soup in this weather. The place is rather small, and it feels a bit cramped because they are trying to squeeze as many seats as possible into it. They anticipate that they'll be popular enough to need all those seats, and for a typical grape rd - main st lunchtime they are right. Your experience would be markedly better if you avoid weekday noons. I have only tried one soup: the lobster bisque, and it was great. So great that I purposely returned a couple of days later just to get another taste. It's slightly on the pricy side for a bowl of soup, but the quality makes up for it. There are actual diced pieces of lobster in it! All in all it's good. As in most new restaurants it takes time until they figure out the best way to run things for a particular location. For me the food is good enough for a four-star rating. We'll see if it's consistent enough to be rated better in the future. read more

Decided to grab some take out after a cold night of trick or treating. The place was busy but the employees were hustling. I was immediately offered a sample of any soup I would like to try. I ordered an XL of chicken pot pie soup and 3 whole sandwiches. There was a wait but I didn't order on line first. The employee thanked me for being so patient. Nice staff. I think it was the manager that came over and apologized that they didn't have quite enough soup for a full XL and asked if it was okay if he gave me an added cup of another kind. I had no problem with that and ordered some Tomato Basil. Everything was packaged nicely and the soup containers were taped so they didn't spill in transit, which I appreciated. When I got home I realized he actually gave me an XL of the Tomato Basil instead of just a cup, which was nice. The food was very good and well put together. My total was 34 dollars. We ended up only eating half of the sandwiches and had soup left over, giving us two meals. Sure the extra soup I was given is a bonus but still there is a second meal. That works out to be about 17 bucks a meal for 3 people. I don't see how that is expensive at all. Will definitely visit again. read more

The staff was surprisingly not friendly. I was expecting that over-the-top customer service you get at places like Panera & Jimmy Johns. Not here. & the food wasn't great. The bacon on my turkey club wasn't even good. How do you mess up bacon? I will say the bread was delicious. And to top it off, I got my order to-go, and I get home and my order was wrong. I've had zoup 3 times now since they have opened and I think that would give me a good enough sample to make my review. Each time I went to Zoup I sampled a few of there soups. Most of them were very comforting and delicious as you would expect it to be. Very flavorful. Rich and was ready in no time. My one major complaint is a lack of visuals to go along with the "sandwiches" I had ordered one to go with my soup and was quite disappointed when it turned out to be a wrap instead of a sandwich. The Variety was good, the Staff was friendly, the place was very clean, and the price seemed about what you would expect for soup and a sandwich, especially when you compare them to places like Panera. read more

I have been to Zoup 3 times now, and have yet to be disappointed! Each time I got a bowl of Soup and Salad. I love the soup is "real". I have had real crab twice, once the spicy with rice and one bisque. It's not that imitation crab meat you find in some restaurants. I even made a special trip to get the rattle snake!! It was awesome to try something sooo unique! The salads are really good too, and I like how you can order them a'la carte. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is, the Mishawaka one is usually kinda messy. Dirty tables, booths, seats, floors. Employees standing around talking waiting for new customers, not cleaning after diners leave. We had to ask for them to clean a table off, and the seats were still nasty. They SERIOUSLY blamed the customers for the table's having crumbs, calling them messy! They half wiped it off without cleaning the others, and went back to talking. I don't mind socializing but please... at least make restaurant appear clean!! read more

LOVE ZOUP! LOVE LOVE ZOUP! Firstly, you can literally try ALL of the soups before you pick one. Which, even if you know what you want, is awesome because they have fun weird soups all the time! Secondly, everything that I have tried has been amazing. Their lobster bisque is to die for. You can definitely taste the individual pieces of lobster and it is perfectly creamy but not overwhelmingly so. Their chili's are also great. Serving sizes are healthy. You will be full with a cup of this stuff. Lastly, the staff WANTS you to try all the soup. They don't rush you, don't seem annoyed with you for taking the time to make up your mind, and actually encourage you to give everything a taste! read more

My friend and I came here today which was our first time. The zoup store is on Main street in Mishawaka not Grape Road. This is my first visit and I'll be back. I had the Chicken Toscan sandwich, Tomato Feta Soup and a full California Tuna Salad minus the Tuna and replaced with chicked and an unsweetened ice tea with sour dough bread. My friend had the Tuna Fish salad sandwich and it had capers in it which made the taste of the sandwich unsatisfactory for him. We asked for another sandwich but was told we could not get another sandwich. If the customer is not happy with the sandwich they should be able to get something else. My friend did like his Chicken Dumpling Soup but the sandwich was a big disappointment. He said there wasn't much Tuna in it. My friend said he will ask for samples the next time when or if he comes back. I would of given 5 stars but since my friend was not happy with his sandwich I dropped it down one star. read more

Visit Zoups for the first time on 10/22/14. Soup was good, not out of this world, but waiting for 20 minutes for 2 cups of soup was ridiculous. We ordered soup because it was busy and didn't want to have to wait for a sandwich or salad, but nonetheless still had to wait 20 minutes while they did the orders one by one without looking ahead and filling orders that should have taken 3 minutes to produce. Usually like this place, the picture as we were going in shows a bread bowl with the chili and cheese on the side of bread bowl- well I received my order and asked " where is the cheese" workers response is " turn over the top( its the cut out piece) " and a small melted piece of cheese is there. Had lunch there last week. All an all a weird experience. First you walk in and are directed to the opposite side (thru the dining area) to try samples. You think ; that's cool! Then we start to order but nooo she is only the sample girl scoot on down to order. We order pay and sit down. We weren't sure when or how we were going to get our order, never were told. After a while we figured out it's sitting on the counter getting cold! Sweet! The soup was good seafood a little salty and southwestern something was ok.We also got a salad which stated Gorgonzola cheese but really had Blue cheese. It was ok but not what we ordered. On the way out we went to the nearest trash receptacle and it was taped off "do no use" so crossed over to use the only other one they had which was overflowing. Amazing!!! Was kinda iffy on trying Zoup! but after one bite I was in love. Loved the loaded baked potato soup and the french bread and the Pesto 3-cheese sandwich! I've been to zoup a handful of times and what I like liked about the place is their selection on soups. When I eat soup I personal don't like soups that are to brothy, and thin, but zoups soups are just the way I think soup should be. Rich,full of flavor, and hearty. I ordered what I would consider a medium portion of soup and I got full. The type of the bread they have goes well with the soups their soups. But variety is the most important. They serve lobster bisque, and that's very unique for any restaurant. Due to the fact I've never seen that served at any other restaurant. But I will say their sandwich menu is a little pricey. But overall zoup has my approval. read more

But having said that, I was disappointed with the wait, the soup wasn't as fantastic as I would think a place called Zoup! Would be, and now that I am finished eating my half sandwich and upgraded soup, I am wondering if I will be full for the rest of my workday or not. And I spent $12.00 for lunch. Had dinner here recently and liked the lobster bisque and sandwich I ordered. Not sure why counter help had to tell me they had 100+ soups when they only had about 6 available (and 2 were empty).
