Took a girlfriend here for her birthday lunch. We were the first ones there when it opened. The service was outstanding. Eliseo took very good care of us. He probably is the best server I've ever had from a restaurant. He explained things and was attentive. Eliseo made the birthday very special. I would give him 10 stars if I could! Regarding the meal, I thought my meatloaf was tough on the outside and dry. The plate may have been hot but definitely not the food. The portion was very small. For these reasons, I had to give it 3 stars. My friend had the lamb chop meal. She said it was good. It is a beautiful restaurant. Great ambiance. I've been to the one in Tustin. Zov's is Amazing!!! I come to Zov's in Irvine pretty often, and it's always a wonderful experience. Ashley is super friendly and just makes the whole meal better. My favorite dishes are the Two Way Kabobs and the Moroccan Salmon Salad. Also, their pomegranate martini is so good--definitely worth trying. Great food, chill vibes, and awesome service. All I can say is that I was completely disappointed with my experience here tonight. I drove a long way to try this place that was recommended and everything that could have possibly gone wrong had happened. I was excited initially looking at all of the food photos on here, but at the end of the day, photos are just photos. Our party was relatively large, but it didn't look too busy this evening. The first waitress had gotten everyone their waters except for mine. Mind you, the second half of our party did not arrive yet, and she still managed to get them all water before even getting me one glass. I didn't get my water until we started ordering our main entrees (and that was 15 minutes in). Normally something like this wouldn't have bothered me, but the events thereafter kept leading to further disappointment. I had ordered the steak frites, medium rare, and I was excited to try it as my colleagues next to me had also ordered the same thing. When I received my dish, I cut through it, and it was completely well done to the point where it was burnt, bitter, and I could barely chew it. I thought maybe that it was just the first piece, but as I continued to cut through it, I realized how overly well done it was. My colleagues' dishes were all medium rare - done correctly. I couldn't even flag down the initial waitress to inform her of this as she disappeared entirely. My colleague had spoken to the manager about this situation and by the time she had gotten a hold of him, everyone else had completed eating. All I ate were fries for dinner. A $40 dinner done completely wrong. It was nice that he offered to remove this off the bill, but the point is that I didn't even get to eat a proper meal. I didn't get the chance to have a new one made or even just get to pick a different dish. So I basically went home hungry and disappointed (which now I have to cook my own little meal). Service was overall a disappointment too. Thank you for giving me the opportunity for this experience tonight, but I won't be coming back here in the near future. read more

I love Zovs! I've been here for brunch/breakfast and it's my go to for a nice delicious place to eat. Their food is so fresh, and never too heavy. I love their avocado toast, veggie omelet and even the yogurt parfait. It's all delicious! Service is always friendly, and efficient. I never feel rushed or neglected - it's the right amount of attention from staff. I love to sit on the patio on a nice morning, but indoors is just as nice if you prefer it. read more

Trish makes the best margarita ive ever had, but her cocktail expertise expands well beyond just tequila; with a fantastic espresso martini, watermelon margarita, and just about anything else she makes will have you asking for another one. They set up a lovely booth for six, 4 pm, we're still the only ones there. Turns out the Reservation is for tomorrow. I thought today WAS Sunday! Brought our mom here for Mother's Day. The Mother's Day menu had no indication of "will be served until this time" or anything like that, but when we arrived, (2:45) that menu was no longer being served. Would've been nice to know ahead of time. Food was just not good. Pita was hard, entrees were either very bland or very salty. Even my lemonade didn't taste good! We just wanted to leave. I never take the time to provide my personal thoughts unless I'm compelled. We have been coming here for years. Not sure what has happened but the quality of everything has completely declined. Do not order any mixed drinks unless you want nonalcohol drinks but get charged for alcohol based drinks . The service has declined as well. The servers are subpar. The reason we would come here before was due to the great service and quality of food and drinks but now has declined. Perhaps the economy has affected this whole unfortunate situation. I really loved this local place to enjoy on the weekends with family and friends. If you feel you still want to come just order wine and the original menu items. read more

Sunday evening at 6:00. Had a reservation, not needed, seated immediately, less than half full. Ivette was our server, very congenial and come to our booth as soon as we were seated. I had an IPA and we ordered meals. Wife hat the short ribs and past, I had the Two Way Kebab. We had both had these meals before and were not disappointed. Beef and chicken kebabs were tender and nicely spiced with veggies and rice. Short ribs served in pasta with a creamy sauce. We both took portions home for lunch. No room for dessert. read more
