We had a great experience at Zanzibar! Ryan was awesome--super attentive, friendly, and really made the night feel taken care of. The food was delicious across the board, no complaints there at all. We snagged one of the igloos and it was perfect--private, cozy, and such a great way to enjoy the space with our group. Highly recommend doing that if you get the chance. The only feedback I'd offer is about the DJ. The music just didn't match the vibe of the room at all. It was very "boof boof boof" club energy, while the crowd and atmosphere were way more chill. It felt like he couldn't quite read the room, which took away a bit from an otherwise amazing night. At Zunzibar we seated our large group outside. They have a combination of single chairs and bench seating as well as high tops. We received the menus and our orders for drinks were taken right away. I had my second favorite- Prosecco, in lieu of Champagne. It came nicely chilled. My husband had soda water. The rest of our party tried craft beers and signature drinks which they all enjoyed. I ordered a poke bowl without the corn (good call as someone else had it with corn and it was not the best- canned. The poke bowl was nicely seasoned and had the perfect amount of tuna. My husband had a burger and he also enjoyed his choice. The shoestring fries were amazing. The service was amazingly swift and so friendly. I definitely will visit Zanzibar again. read more

Yes, they have food here. Yes, they have outstanding service. However, the only thing I was able to sample during my time here was the Mango Tango - Tequila, Triple Sec, Mango, Lime, Tajín Rim. Just to be sure it was that good I had to try it three times! I love the outdoor space, the restrooms being around the corner work well enough. I see the famous Conquistador is still on the menu. Even though I did not have food this time around it is good to know that has survived Zunzi's evolution through Savannah over the years. read more

We had the Conquistador and Godfather MA sandwiches--both were loaded with flavor and their signature sauces. The wings and Slaap Chip Nachos were also hits. The vibe is super laid-back with frozen drinks, local drafts, live music, and two happy hours a day. The godfather doesn't taste anything like it used to and they are back to serving the same terrible chips instead of the homemade ones they used to sell. The food was great. We've been to another Zunzibar before and the food was consistently good. It's a great little chain they've got going. I got the Johnny Chow sandwich. There's so much meat and the different meats really pair well together, the sausage and the chicken curry mix and it's absolutely delicious. Super creative sandwich too. Almost like an Indian cheese steak sandwich, but so elevated. Even the chips on the side are well seasoned and I don't normally like chips. Other great thing about Zunzibar is the sauces. They've got so many options and I loved that the Johnny Chow came with both the curry and the chutney. Only thing is, relative to other Zunzibar locations, this was a bit more of a party vibe/atmosphere, we were here for the food but a lot of people were there for a party / bar vibe. Weird setup too - the restrooms are basically on the street and weren't very nice. It seemed like you sat yourself but then the staff jumped on you - wanting to sit yourself outside in the Georgia heat in August! Tbh I thought she was an unhoused person. We've been coming to "Zumzi" for years whenever we visited Savannah. As Zumzi, this used to be a SCAD student and locals takeout sandwich place with a 20? different imaginative, fabulous sandwiches. It moved and it's a very different venue now with at least 4 locations. This is a fun, upbeat, lively place offering the similar imaginative, very good sandwiches, though far fewer choices than we remember. A much larger menu now of bar food besides the sandwiches. Also now a bar with the usual imaginative cocktails, in pastel colors, graced with little umbrellas and plastic cups emblazoned with "Sh*t yeah!" My take: A tourist, business persons, sports bar/restaurant masquerading as a student bar. I can't vouch for the drinks but the beer selection was good but not great. The food was good and generous but not spectacular. The service excellent and young. read more

Such a hidden gem!! This spot is funky, fun, and incredibly tasty. We were on a "hidden gem food tour" and stopped by this place. The cocktails are amazing- I don't typically like rose but the waiter convinced me to try the Frosé and it was great! I ended up getting two of them.
