Zunzibar was our second stop on our wine and true crime walking tour of Savannah and overall I might have had the best cocktail of the night here! The ambiance is loud, bright, and colorful. Kind of like a surfside cabana vibe. Ordering at the bar was very chaotic and I was cut in front of several times which was a bit frustrating. I think the bartenders were a bit overwhelmed which didn't help, but I will say the drink turned out great once I was able to be served. This is definitely a very specific vibe so I'd recommend this place for parties, or a fun happy hour. If I lived in Savannah or came back I'd definitely consider stopping by again! read more

Excellent wings, tried the wings - hot as shit and curry were delicious. Everyone loved hot as shit but I actually liked the curry one best. Dank is a type of honey mustard, not my favorite but of course a preference. Our waiter "guac king" was great. Excellent patio with great tvs for sports if you like. The bathrooms are a little iffy, around the corner outside entrance. Mistaked one order, made it up with 6 extra wings. They have unlimited wings if you sign up for their club thing. Honestly I dunno if I could do 20 wings to get your moneys worth but if you can, you should. They also have happy hour which is ok. Great spot in the area! Really wanted to enjoy this place with the live music, dog-friendly patio...and only giving two stars because they offer those options. Other than that, four servers walked past us and never took our order, gave us water, or said hey I'm your server and I'll be right with you. Three servers came over to pet our dog and talk about their own pets at length. 30 minutes in and still no one greeted or served us, so we got up and left. From food to drinks it was a breeze to order and receive. You order yourself on your phone or their kiosk but the customer service is still there and we were being checked on so that was nice. Drink was very tasty definitely glad I added the rum than the whiskey it had the perfect taste and not too strong. We opted for the chicken and I think husband got the one with all three meat sandwich we choose voodoo chips that came along with it. Great location and still had the igloo experience if interested . I recently came in for drinks with some friends and we had AMAZING service by Dee from the moment we walked in. He instantly found us a table, got water for our dog, took photos of us in front of the picture wall and offered some of the best suggestions for food and drinks. We visited Savannah and came to Zunzibar for happy hour drinks (1/2 priced drinks and $1 wings during 5-7 pm). My boyfriend ordered the King Tide cocktail whereas I ordered the Hot 'Rita margarita. Both were good, strong drinks. I asked for my Hot 'Rita to be extra hot and the bar delivered! Our waiter was attentive and kind. Drinks were great. Music and ambiance were great. We went at the start of 5 pm so we didn't need to wait in a line. But the tail end of happy hour, more people arrived. This was my first time visiting this location and the people were just as lovely. When you walk in, there is someone to assist you with ordering food, if needed. I observed a few regulars walk straight and order from the food kiosk without batting an eye (lol). So what I gathered is, you walk in and order food on the kiosk then you can sit anywhere you like inside/out and your food will be brought out to you. If you've had to pleasure of visiting Zunzi's - then you're practically family. You'll still get the South African inspired sandwiches but it'll have a beach feel thanks to Treylor Park. Either way, you'll love it. A waitress will come over to take and serve any drink orders though. Since we were just enjoying drinks, our waitress (Cecilia) was really pleasant and encouraged me to try a drink that caught my eye. The Pineapple Express caught my eye but I little turned off by the almond milk that was a part of the ingredients... Cecilia reassured me so I gave it a try. I think I expected this to be more of a hole in the wall type place, and it was far from that! We came here because they have vegan options, and my friend thoroughly enjoyed their vegan sandwich. I opted forward the sausage option on pita bread, and dealt enjoyed the sauces used. I do wish there were more side options, we were hoping for some fries or something to snack on with our sandwiches. There was indoor and outdoor seating, and the decor was upset colorful. I didn't really see the South African influence in cuisine, so that was a bit of a bummer. Orders are places on a kiosk, and then you pick up when you receive a text message. I am torn between 3 & 4 stars for Zunzibar. The atmosphere is awesome, it's a unique concept and if the service stays as great as it is now, Zunzibar will be very successful. Customers order drinks at the bar, but order food at a desk service kiosk. There are 4 kiosks around the establishment (I think there are 4!). The kiosks are user friendly and easy to use, however I would like to see sanitation wipes near by as an option. Or, servers wiping down the screens every few customers. Zunzi's is "known" for having vegan options on the menu. With that said, most of the vegan options were all the same thing -- some kind of variation of the vegan meatballs. I would like to see a better variety of meatless options as the "meatballs" tasted good, but not something I want to eat every time I come here. Also, the food menu is way over priced. The to-go pick up window is around the corner, outside the bar, which is GREAT for Uber & door dash drivers! No need to shuffle between customers to get a bartenders attention. Overall, I feel like I've been there, done that, and won't go out of my way to return. read more

Sh+t yeah! We had a fun time stopping in this place while visiting Savannah for my 40th birthday/St. Paddy's day. Our server Gabe was so friendly and attentive and he hooked it ALL THE WAY up! We ended with a group shotski (obviously) and he took care of us well the whole time. Love the DJ's energy, only wish he would have snuck in more hip-hop "oldies". We live outside of Savannah but we go downtown to eat a few times a month and Zunzibar has been one of our favorite spots to visit since it was a hole in the wall place that only had outdoor seating. Our whole family loves it. We can usually get a couple of conquistadors and a fisherman's deck and feed our whole family of six. The service is always fantastic. We reserved an igloo last winter when they had them and it was so much fun hanging out and drinking hot chocolate and apple cider. We can't wait to do it again this year! read more

Came to Zunzis / Zunzibar for a fun Yelp event last week and had just the best time. Fun winter drinks, tasty wings, delicious nachos, & super fun igloos. Igloos can be rented out during the winter months. Igloo reservations come with different packages; some include drinks, some snacks, some both! Igloos fit probably 10 people, and would be so fun for family coming to town over the holidays. Zunzis has been a great business in Savannah for years, and their continuous updates to this new location just keep getting better and better! Check them out! read more

We had lunch there today around 2:30. Wife had a Fishdeck sandwich and I had a Godfather sandwich. Both were very fresh. Wife's was filled with salmon and mine w chicken/sausage. The home made chips were crisp and fresh. Flavors were great and what I remembered from many years ago. Plenty of employees working today that showed an interest in their customers. Restaurant was half full. We sat 'inside', south of where they are working on the bar and another seating area. It was warm and dry with plenty of space for us. All in all a great experience. Definitely a do over; half of both sandwiches made it home and will make a great left over for dinner or lunch tomorrow. read more

Time and time again I pass by but I had this place on my mind for lunch. I love the upbeat atmosphere, the staff , outdoor seating as well. I wasn't sure what to order or where to sit so I choose the bar,luckily there was a someone sitting at bar as well. This was my opportunity, I saw his lunch and order what he had exactly. They have a delicious albeit limited menu but covers vegan and vegetarian as well. Even then, it was hard to choose! I ordered the Conquistador and which is their very basic chicken sandwich, while my husband ordered the Johnny Roll which is vegetarian. Both were great - we also ordered a side of the Voodoo chips. They have an interesting beverage menu with different seasonal cocktails . My husband ordered a Winter Siesta, which was similar to a Mule but not quite - delicious ! ~ Service & Ambience ~ We were greeted with a big cheerful smile. It is a very casual place with friendly people. The ordering process is great - you start a tab by scanning the QR code on your table and order using their website. You also pay that way, very efficient as they do not need anyone to wait on people all the time. As for seating, you can sit anywhere , they also have 2 igloos setup, each accommodating 5 or 6 people. ~ Parking ~ It is located on Drayton street which is quite busy during weekends .
