We really love everything about ZC! The food is fantastic...soups, sandwiches, pizza...are ALL excellent!!! The 14" pizza is one price with as many toppings as you'd like! They have fountain drinks and bottled drinks. Everything is very reasonably priced, and high quality. There is ample parking. Good food, but when you order a soup and bread bowl to go you get half the soup you normally get. When I brought this issue up to the store I was told I am welcome to order more soup and more money to get the same amount you get in the restaurant when you dine in. Very average soup and sandwich place. The Italian name is the spiciest thing about this place. Food quality is on par with Panera, which for me means bland food for the bland suburbs and the strip mall blandness this locale is overall. My past visit to Zuppa was very, very disappointing to say the least. I ordered 1/2 sandwich with soup. I literally had 1.5 pieces of turkey! This is a Shakopee staple! Great for a quick bite to eat. Fresh ingredients and delicious stuff! I haven't had anything I don't like from here. Amazing flavor, quality and price! I can't recall the last time a half sandwich was exactly half the price of a whole sandwich - how honest can you be??? A little background. My family moved from Michigan (yay) to Shakopee last year. In Michigan it was IMPOSSIBLE to find healthy vegetarian food and I couldn't wait until I didn't have to go there anymore. Then they moved to Shakopee and I just discovered Zuppa Cucina - WOW! It tastes fresh and delicious and the price is incredible. Coming from LA the sandwich I had would have been an easy $11 in LA instead of $5.65. I had the roasted zucchini, portabella mushroom, bellpeppers, shallots, sprouts, and artichokes with herb cream cheese (and added aioli) on chiabbati bread. Mom had the 1/2 sandwich marinated chicken breast with feta cheese, kalamata olives, artichokes, red onion and forest greens tossed in red wine vinaigrette on focaccia bread. She also had a small forest greens with black olives, tomatoes, roasted bellpeppers, artichokes, pine nuts, pepperoncini and red onion (substitute caesar dressing for vinaigrette) salad. The ambiance is casual trattoria feeling - simple and clean. The music is subtle. The staff was very helpful and friendly and allows substitutions. I now can't wait to visit Shakopee again! If I had a restaurant like this back home I'd be it's #1 customer! That's saying a lot considering the choices and quality of food options in Los Angeles. read more
