I'm a little delayed in posting a review for Zway Automotive (Zarik), as he has done multiple repairs on a few of our family cars over the past couple of years. My most recent repair was last week, October 27, 2025. It consisted of replacing the rack and pinion, as well as the power steering pump, pressure hose, and drive belt. Because I drive an older vehicle with high mileage, and it's imperative that I keep it running well, I also asked Zarik to look over the car and make any other repairs he thought necessary. Zarik did as I requested and discovered that my spark plugs were the originals (2012) and very worn down. He replaced those as well as the rear ignition coils. Upon leaving Zway Automotive, the improvement in the performance of my vehicle was immediately noticeable. All issues related to the power steering and rack and pinion have been solved as well. My old car runs great again. All in all I have always been extremely happy with Zway Automotive (as have my family members.) Zarik is knowledgeable in repairing all makes and models, honest, conscientious, friendly, communicative, accommodating with my time restraints, and very fairly priced. Most importantly, I never doubt that my vehicle will be repaired correctly and that it will be safe to drive with all of my grandchildren. Run! Avoid at all costs! I had a terrible experience at Zway Automotive and want to warn others about their pricing and business practices. My car overheated while I was in Santa Clarita, leaving me with limited options for mechanics in the area. I took it to Zway, where they charged me a $175 diagnostic fee-which I was willing to pay, assuming they'd be fair and honest about the repair costs. Instead, they handed me a $1,900 estimate, clearly expecting me to just go along with it. I wasn't going to blindly pay that, so l shopped around-and I'm glad I did. I got the same repair done elsewhere for just $600. What made this even worse was that it felt like they were trying to take advantage of my husband, who doesn't know much about cars. Instead of offering a reasonable price, they padded the estimate to an insulting degree. If they didn't want to do the work, they should have just said so instead of throwing out a ridiculous number. This kind of pricing is why people don't trust mechanics. If you're in a bind like I was, do yourself a favor and get a second opinion. You'll probably save a fortune. My range rover evoque suddenly stopped in the middle of the road last December 2024, it won't restart and needed to be towed. I searched the web for a nearby auto shop coz my preferred auto shop is all the way from Burbank and found Zway Automotive here in SCV. Zarik was able to figure out the problem in no time. Amazing experience all around! I came here late 2019 to get my oil changed; Zarik was so kind, and explained the whole process including breaking down all the charges. Zarik is legit! He is truly a mechanic you can trust! I have an 06 Nissan Frontier that has been very troublesome and he has always been helpful and honest. I have had a couple of repairs done here and he is quick and has never given me the run around. One time I brought my truck in because my battery cable kept coming off and I couldn't tighten it. He took the time to fix it and there was no charge. I can't speak highly enough about Zarik. The things he's fixed (belts and hoses) have had zero issues. Finally sitting down to write this review as it is well deserved. My family was driving to Disneyland for our annual holiday vacation when my toyota van started to overheat. We pulled off the freeway and googled a close by repair shop which was unnerving since you never know if you will be taken advantage of. Zarik was very helpful during my visit and I will go back to him for other car services in the future! I have a Toyota Prius and the bottom part of the black cover came off during driving. I had to tapped it to drive to his shop. I told him that I have only this car to drive and he took a look as soon he he can while I was waiting there. He was able to fix it in a creative way that I can still drive it safely instead of ordering a brand new part! In the 14 years I have owned my BMW, I have used a total of 11 mechanics (three times for body damage repairs resulting from not-at-fault accidents). There has only been one exception where I did NOT feel uneasy about the quality of the service performed on my vehicle and the cost associated with that service. That one exception is Zarik at ZWay Automotive. Modern vehicles have taken away a rite of passage for most men by making common repairs and maintenance complex, often requiring specialized tools and/or computers. As a result, the best analogy would be to say that there is a need to trust your mechanic similarly to how we trust our doctors. Diagnosing a problem involves understanding a myriad of complex interconnected systems, each with the potential to incur exorbitant costs. 'Charlotte' (my car) and I are very close - no one else knows my ass as well she does. I am familiar with every sound, squeak, behavior when idle, revving - you name it. As a result, I have often asked mechanics to just address a specific problem. Only ZWay showed me the respect to not use fear as an instrument to add repairs ($$$). Rather, Zarik explains how leaving 'X' as is, may last for 'Y' amount of time, but eventually when 'X' fails, be prepared for....whatever the consequences (and they are not always doom and gloom). He explains, without being condescending, what he is going to do, he follows up with an estimate (with other mechanics, I have always had to call to find out what the cost would be) and he does so using what I perceive to be simple yet elegant use of email/text notification. Its efficient and non-intrusive for those with 're-donkulous' schedules. Did I mention that he is personable? Did I mention that he makes you feel like you are the most important customer he has? Well, its all true. I refrained from writing this review for some time out of fear that his popularity could result in long turnovers. ZWay did a great job doing a Bavsound stereo upgrade on my 2-series BMW. I chose ZWay because they are an authorized Bavsound dealer/installer, and it was worth the drive from Santa Barbara. Zarik was great, answered all my questions, did the work on time per agreement (on a brutally hot day in Valencia) and finished right on time. Traveling to So. Calif from the Central Coast, our 4-Runner started over-heating in the 105 degree weather. I got on Google to search for a shop nearby. Zway Automotive seemed close and had good ratings. We explained the problem over the phone an Zarik said to bring it by. He would make time to look at it. He set me and my dog in his shop in front of a cool fan and offered water while we waited. Identifying the problem as a cracked radiator cap, Zarik speed dialed the local Toyota dealer, ordered the cap and had it delivered in 8 minutes. Refilling the radiator and testing it for several minutes he gave us a thumbs up, but to watch the gauge during our travels. Had a great experience at Zway with Zarik. I came in for an oil change on my 2017 Shelby GT350. Zarik was very careful with the car and was meticulous while working on the car. Though you may think "it's just an oil change", this particular car is not an easy job and takes about an hour to do it right. Zarik is a honest mechanic and he has very fair prices. We used to take Our Land Rover to the dealer for repairs but they charge 50% to 75% more for the same things. I have taken my Audi and my Land Rover to him for years and he's always done a very good job. The alternator in the LandRover just went out last week and he had the part ordered and installed in less than 24 hours. It's a great thing to have a mechanic that you trust. read more

I visited 6 flags magic mountain and my Buick's radiator took a dump. I was stuck in a bad situation. I got a quote from over 10 businesses and zway not only reached out to me the quickest and in the most professional manner, but also with the lowest price. They gave me a new radiator within 3 hours. Me and my girlfriend just went back to 6flags again until they finished. Now my 2004 Buick LeSabre is up to par running 100. A Capable Master Mechanic you can count on. Honest Mechanic is No Longer an Oxymoron. I own two aging BMWs and an Audi, all are out of warranty. When I take my car to a Stealer(dealer), they would charge minimum 200$/hr for 5 min. job. (i.e. Tightening up loose lug nuts for front right wheel.) Other occasion I had them do a $800 rear side brake job for my X5. I later found out (while I was doing my own brake) that they didn't not do a good job, such as losing sensor caps, loose cable roaming free, not following torque specifications... I was done with the dealer! I ran into Zarik through Yelp. I needed him to help me complete botched Do It Yourself Radiator overhaul several months ago. I am a mechanically inclined engineer, I could easily notice that Zarik is perfectionist and immaculate on his job from my experience. While I was waiting for my car, I noticed that many local mechanics stopped my asked him for help fixing their cars. If you dealt with medical doctors for complicated symtops, you know the doctor who fixes other doctors mistakes are the very best one. Zarik is one the like that. If you dealt with mechanics, up-selling (often unnecessary jobs), multiple-time mark ups for the already expansive parts, shoddy workmanship are very common. This won't be the case with Zarik. He is not the cheapest but I wouldn't take my Bimmers anywhere else but Zarik. read more

Small shop, only 2 people (owner and mechanic) that I've seen so far in the three times I've been there dealing with my husband's car, but they are reasonable, timely and pleasant to deal with. My husband started out telling them what he wanted done (based on what he was able to figure out on his own) and they asked him if he had had it diagnosed yet. He said no, so they backed him up a few steps, and between them, they decided to start with some basic TLC (oil change, etc.) and to do a diagnostic to determine what else might need to be done. He eventually needed a catalytic converter, but he decided to bypass for the time-being if it wasn't going to hurt anything. But, when he went to pick the car up, he had a discussion with the workers and found out the last place, ALERT AUTO who is now out of business, previously did a mickey mouse job on the catalytic converter (putting a refurb "toy" part in FRONT of the original catalytic converter, just so my husband could pass inspection) without my husband knowing. ZWay did NOT pressure my husband to fix this, but my husband decided to leave car in the shop and have the CC replaced anyway as it would have affected his fuel economy and of course we all know fuel costs are way up there now! All in all, a very pleasant experience with ZWay. My AC seems to be blinking out on me and I'm seriously thinking of taking my car to them for the repair.
