There won't be enough space or enough stars here to fully describe the experience of 1010 Bridge. This is hands-down the most unassuming fine dining restaurant, nestled in a small village above the Kanawah River in Charleston, WV. If not your destination, you might miss it completely--and what a shame that would be!! This was the best four course meal (maybe ever) and one I won't soon forget. Happy birthday to me!! I've already asked God to add these scallops to my banquet plate in heaven. Yes, it was that good. The service matched the food, and a visit from Chef Paul Smith himself absolutely made my night. This place is a foodie's heaven!! x 10

Great service, very nice and food came out very quick tho it was very busy inside. I loved my vodka cocktail, very balanced and delicious. Really enjoyed our appetizer zucchini chips. Strawberry spinach salad was pretty good. The main dish Shrimp and grits was very tasty, had a LOT of sauce on the side, I'm not huge on sauce so I didn't really eat much of it tho it's delicious (not a big sauce girl). Husband had the 1010 6oz steak with order of scallops with lobster Mac and cheese. Everything on his plate was amazing, I tried all of it too! Desserts very very tasty. We really liked both can't pick which was best!

1010 Bridge is where it's at! The creme brûlée and chocolate Tarte desserts are to die for!

We visited 1010 tonight (6/19/25) to celebrate my five year remission for cervical cancer. Chef Paul was gracious, accommodating, and generous. Additionally, our server, Chris, was attentive, engaging, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed a small plates surprise, which was delectable, our favorite zucchini ribbons, and squash bisque to start. 10 of 10. No notes. We then shared the special, roasted duck, and the fisherman's pie. We were mesmerized by the tiny popping peppers in the fishermen's pie, having never seen/tried them. What a delight. It's a rarity to experience innovation but Chef Paul has it down. We topped off our culinary delights with a few specialty cocktails, bananas foster bread pudding, and the crème brûlée of the day. My husband might've left me for the horchata dessert cocktail.

Wow. Rolled in here with my niece and her hubs, it is one of their favorites and they really wanted to introduce us. We had a group of seven and we tried about half the menu with lots of sharing. I don't even order steak and I enjoyed some ribeye it was awesome. We also had the fried green tomatoes, whipped feta, shrimp, hot oysters, blue cheese mashed potatoes and dessert - chocolate tort. I tried several local craft beers and tasted the craft cocktails of others - all top notch. Service was outstanding throughout the meal. I can't wait to go back!

The food was amazing, as you'd expect from a James Beard award winner for Best in the Southeast as well as previous nominations. I've been here a few times since my original review, and it's always top notch. The employees take pride in their work and chef Paul is often seen around the restaurant and will happily talk with anyone. The ambiance is good and relaxed, not super fancy or anything that would make you feel underdressed. NOTE: This is a rare restaurant that takes reservations even for barstools! Walking in to empty spots at the bar doesn't necessarily mean they're available- - usually those are also reserved! My initial complaint was about a huge disappointment with having reservations for a booth for our 20 year anniversary, and getting bumped to a high top near the front and the bathrooms. An unfortunate mistake made on an important dinner for us, but mistakes happen, and everything else about this place has been remarkable.

Just when I thought there was no restaurant in WV for a foodie... we found 1010 Bridge Restaurant on Yelp. We were heading home after 2 days leaf peeping and so far I was impressed with the scenery but underwhelmed by the food. Loved this place! Staff were inviting and helpful. The decor was nice. Even at 4;30 we couldn't get regular table but could be seated at high top or counter. We picked high top and had trouble picking what to order as so much looked interesting. I started with the signature cocktail which was something with bourbon or whiskey I should have known I'd not like it. It was strong. We shared the fried oyster appetizer and yummm. Hubby had the halibut it was great the parm gnocchi were exceptional. Wish thry had side item with lots of of them. I had the risotto carbonara with side of scallops. I liked both our meals. Hubby liked what he ordered. We shared dessert a peanutbutter creme brulee yummmm. Several things here looked interesting. By far best meal we ever had in WV. M

Kind of upscale restaurant that's also a bit pricy. Service was VERY friendly and helpful with choices. The menu itself a nice mix of common and upscale items generally with a bit of a twist. Food was very good and delivered with good time spacing after the appetizer we had. Easily the best meal we had in WV this week and would be good by most anywheres scale. Would most likely eat here again next time we are passing through.

I travel nationally for work and one of my favorite restaurants, 1010 Bridge. Rye cocktail with candied carrot and cardamom bitters, bacon wrapped figs with blue cheese, Mahi Mahi with tomato risotto, butter cake with peaches, and Irish coffee. Amazing! Derek and Charlie, thank you for such friendly and attentive service, the best! My standbys, you can never go wrong with Signature 1010 cocktail or Cast Iron Seared "1010 Cut" with lobster mac. Enjoy!!

As the chef is a winner of the prestigious James Beard award I was super excited to try this restaurant while I was in town and it happily was close to my aunts house. Sadly, all the dishes I tried were misses for me. In fairness I forgot I don't really care for feta so the appraiser was my fault. The steak has a fruity sort of glaze that didn't really do it for me. The gingerbread crème brûlée for dessert was better but I mostly left off the ginger bread sugar top. The service was wonderful though even at the bar (they aren't kidding when they recommend reservations!) and I want to come back to try some more items before giving up.

The answer is YES!!! You want this. You might cry a little. Everything is so amazing. The bacon wrapped figs were salty, sweet, and crunchy. I had the snapper special and my hubby had the 1010 steak. Amazing cocktails. Bananas foster wonderfulness for dessert. We are just passing through for the night, but this is a destination gem.

We went on a Saturday night and thought we would have to wait some time, we did not. The food we ordered was great, the portions were bigger than expected, and our server was phenomenal!

Pork Shank Pattanesca

The fall menu launched last week--and it's a terrific addition to the standard options. Tonight, I had the Pork Shank Puttanesca. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone! My starter was a mushroom bisque that hit the spot. I couldn't pass on dessert with so many wonderful selections--and decided upon the apple pie bread pudding. No regrets. I love how the hostess asks if you are there for a special occasion when you call to reserve a table. The server noted our celebration and appeared genuinely happy to share in our good news The restaurant was packed as usual, but was a little quieter than normal--and that made it easier to converse at the table. It was a remarkable experience. 1010 may be the address, but it truly is a 10 out of 10 on any scale.

The wait can be 20-30 minutes during prime dinner hours, and the food wait can also be lengthy. Plan on enjoying a few hours here and don't be in a rush once you get here. Let's talk about the food. They have gluten free options and anything can be made gluten free according to the staff. They also have some vegetarian options. I love burgers, and honestly, it's hard to beat a handmade beyond smashburger. This restaurant currently does not offer another veggie substitute other than the Portobello mushroom. It was good, with the added goat cheese, but would have rather had a burger substitute with mushrooms added on top. The fries are great! Perfectly fried with golden crunch in every bite. The garlic aioli is the perfect dipping sauce. I ordered a ranch side as well and it's good, but the aioli is the best choice in my opinion. Great local restaurant with a burger for everyone.

We heard from so many folks that we needed to come try this gem but what we experienced first hand…read morewas an expensive bomb. There's an amazing selection of bourbon but I love tequila! My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.

We ordered the New York steak and the Brussels sprouts special. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the Brussels sprouts hit that ideal balance--crispy, flavorful, and just right. Everything we had was packed with flavor. The drinks didn't miss either--ice-cold beer and expertly crafted cocktails all around. If you find yourself in Charleston, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Charleston, WV during our roadtrip and looking for dinner…read moreduring the work week. I wanted to try something new and interesting and through my Yelp research I found this spot. It's located in downtown with metered street parking free Monday-Saturday nights after 6pm and all of Sunday. Luckily, we were able to find a spot easily. Inside was modern and relatively clean. We had to wait a little bit to be seated as they were pretty busy; however, this place had a decent amount of seating and space. Service was good overall, but it wasn't as consistent as I would've liked for actions such as water refills, asking for extra napkins, etc. This was partly because they were very busy that night. They have a variety of food options - apps, salads, sandwiches, pies (pizzas), and dessert. We ended up ordering a large pizza (thin crust) to split - half Thai and half Chicken Gouda. Both were yummy although the crust was a tad burnt - nothing bad to the extent that taking bites were an effort. Overall, I preferred the Thai since I've never come across a Thai style pizza and I could really taste the curry sauce. The only downside of the Thai was that the shrimp were slightly overcooked, which could be potentially explained by us ordering a pizza split in two styles with them cooking the entire pizza evenly versus what is needed for each ingredient. We finished the entire pizza between the two of us, but I could see someone having some leftovers. If possible, they might want to do some minor pest management. The entire time of our visit a fruit fly or gnat was hovering around us and the food. We tried to catch it and protect the food, only for it to ultimately take a permanent dip in my water. My overall assessment was that it was a good place to try in the city. It's not something I would crave, but I wouldn't mind coming back again if I was in the area.
