Food was good but we were expecting better. The cocktails were not good at all. I ordered a Dirty Martini (extra dirty) with plain olives (no blue cheese). I got a straight up glass of chilled Grey Goose with Blue cheese olives. Gin cocktail tasted "chemically." Our server was rude, seemed like she'd rather be anywhere but there. We were a small table (4), and after waiting a little bit past our reservation time sat down and were ready to order appetizers. She refused to take our order until we were ready to put drinks/appetizers/entrees all together. Walked away and took almost 10 minutes to return. While I wouldn't expect the waiters to hover, we were constantly looking for water refills (even asked for her to bring 2 bottles out at a time which she never did). Again, food was good, but not great. Ribeye was ordered Medium and served rare (already sliced so couldn't send back) but was seasoned well. Due to the rareness there were about 4 slices that we just couldn't eat. Salmon was ordered Medium and served well, which made it pretty dry. Pork dish was cooked perfectly and was very well seasoned. Pasta cooked Al dente and sauce was good. Zeppoles were the dessert special but were served undercooked with raw dough inside. Flavor of all the food was there but execution was definitely off. Positives: Owner was kind, male bartender/waiter in the bar was very nice (aside from the not so great drinks made by female bartender). Ambiance was quaint, not too crowded with tables. Had dinner with our family on a Tuesday night and the evening was perfect. It was the first night we had gone to dinner since Covid because I was 7 months when covid hit. That was fun! Local recommendations brought me here. The location is very cozy, and everyone was all smiles when I came in. Sat at the bar, I like the casual nature of that when I am alone. A lot of locals chatting, brought me right in to the conversation! Loved the menu, went with the veal milanaiss, it is hard for me to not order that on a good italian menu! Tried to give this place a shot but it's a hard pass. The wait staff is one of the rudest we've ever encountered. Brought out multiple incorrect orders and blamed it on us, drink and water glasses were empty the whole night, and our waitress went missing for an hour. Mediocre meals and fish was also undercooked. 103 Prime is a good restaurant but that's about it. If I lived near the enclave of Park Ridge, I'd probably feel grateful this restaurant existed in my area and may even frequent it. But what 103 Prime is not is a destination restaurant. My wife, myself and our friends drove from Englewood, which we seldom hesitate to drive to good dining establishments in NYC or in NJ. The service started as very choppy but ended nice. My beet salad was uninspired but fresh and ok. The ribeye was a beautiful portion but not very flavorful and texture was not up to par when i consider steaks I've had elsewhere such as River Palm Terrace in Edgewater. The noise level is another story but not uncommon it seems....probably more us than the establishment (we're a bunch of baby boomers living consequence of too much loud music!). Whereby Esty Street, down the road from 103 Prime, rises to another level of culinary experience, 103 Prime simply doesn't. Again, was 'good' but that's about it. read more

We have been going here about once a month for the past couple of years. The food is just mediocore but we were very disappointed with the bar. We have gone there at 5:30 PM and found that the ENTIRE bar has been reserved! Who does that? The ENTIRE bar is reserved???? We felt very uncomfortable and pressured to finish our drinks. So if you want to go out for cocktails and dinner, FORGET IT! The food is good but the bar is AWFUL. The bar tender is unfriendly and very loyal to the few patrons who reserve the bar. Again, what bar will reserve the ENTIRE bar??? As my friends told us, stay away unless you are one of their favorites. What a shame! read more

Service is slow at lunch. It was OK, the bacon and cheese of the burger was better than the burger. The papperdelle pasta is the best. Couldn't even get coffee in an hour and a half. One waitress for all the tables. Artichokes are great, very expensive for such slow service. read more

Well above the norm for Italian food in this area. Well prepared dishes with a varied menu of seafood, veal and steak. 2 gripes. Warning- Aways ask the price of specials before ordering. My wife ordered the sole special, never imagining that it was nearly twice the cost of any other entree on the menu... definitely not worth $54. Waiters should announce the prices of specials when reciting them. An old fashioned cocktail is generally served with orange peel, on the rocks, in a cocktail glass. Sat for dinner and was greeted by a very professional looking waiter with a colorful personality. At first our service was quite good. As our meals came out, however, it began to slow down to a painful drag. Our meal lasted over 3 hours, most of which was spent waiting for our server to reappear with our orders. We waited over 25 minutes for a couple of seltzers and after dinner, we ordered desert. That took all night to get. My wife's teabag came right away,but she waited over 30 minutes for the hot water and a tartufo. Our waiter literally disappeared! It wasn't even that busy. Went to 103 Prime last weekend for an early Mother's Day dinner with my family. We were originally seated in the bar area but asked to be moved to the dining room as it was quite loud - our request was honored even though the restaurant was busy! Our server was clearly busy but still very attentive and grabbed our drinks while we perused the menu. For apps, we got the seafood bisque, a wedge salad and the crab cocktail, all of which were great. The crab was fresh and there was lots of it! For my entree, I got the Spaghetti Cacio e Uova - creamy and delicious. My tablemates got the filet, Seafood Cioppino, other pasta dishes - all of which were great. The cheesecake was amazing, and the chocolate cake was good but very rich. All in all a great meal and I can't wait to get back! read more

Food and service was good. Enjoyed the Thursday special $1.00 oysters. We ordered the porterhouse and was cooked as we liked. All in food appetizers and we really liked the Zeppole with hot chocolate dessert. We were already full from dinner but squeezed it all in. Yummy. The only negative for us was the way someone packed our to go left over steak. They didn't separate the steak but threw it all together with the French fries. Overall *** The food was better when it was the Brassiere and it still has its odd layout. We felt that there is just nothing special enough about Prime to make us want to return even though it is super local for us. Setting *** I view Prime's interior warm, inviting and an improvement over the stuffy feeling Brasserie that preceded it. The layout is still off to me as the bar is too small and in the wrong room. I always thought that the main room should have a big square bar with tables around it and the other rooms used for more intimate dining. I really disliked the very thin and dainty rocks glasses, it just didn't feel right in my hand. On a fairly quiet Thursday night the crowd was mostly 50+ couples dining quietly. Service *** As we like to do we sat and ate at the bar. The bartender was friendly and engaged although maybe pulled in too many directions between the main and service bars as well as making cappuccino's in the kitchen. We had to ask three people for bread before receiving it. Food ** We sampled just a few appetizers to test the place out and they didn't really pass that test. The mussels were huge which I dislike as I find them to be tougher and less flavorful. I did ask if they were big before ordering and was told they weren't. So they were not appealing to us but maybe others like them that way. The sauce they came with was good but nothing memorable. Eggplant Lasagna as an appetizer? I'm thinking this HAS to be good right? Ehh, very small portion, slightly greasy and bitter it was basically the same eggplant parmigiana you could get at a pizzeria. Octopus was also good. Clams were again a small portion but tasty. Then the main dishes came or did they. At one point, we looked at each other and were like where's the food? Wait and wait and wait to the point of redic. Sole special was good not outstanding. The tuna came out almost ice cold in parts. When I asked, they said it was supposed to be warm. It was too cool for me. They reheated and it was good but just didn't feel like a dinner dish but more like an upscale lunch dish. The mains didn't come with much of a side. Then the bill was quite pricey. Wait staff was professional but service was very slow. Manager should of acknowledged the slow service and apologized or bought desert. There is no way they didn't know this was too long. Just not a fine dining experience. Food was good but at those prices and the long wait that was money that could have been spent elsewhere. The food is great, steak cooked perfectly all the way through. It's a house-turned-restaurant with a couple of bad tables (against a divider.) At 6 PM on a Friday it was us and one other table. By 8 it was pretty full. I think the target audience is a younger crowd, because I caught Pharcyde's Passing Me By playing softly in their music rotation, but the average patron was 50 years of age. This is a lovely looking restaurant with great, friendly staff. The cocktails are a nice size and the bread was out of this world good! The appetizers of lump crab, beet salad, and octopus were very good. The main courses were also excellent, with one exception, the pasta with lobster. Not enough chunks of lobster and too many tip of the claw rubbery parts. Also one special entree was brought to the table cool. That was quickly remedied when a new hot dinner was almost immediately brought to the table. All in all a very pleasant experience. We will be back! read more
