I have been coming here since they opened years ago! Then I stopped for a period of time with only a few random visits here and there, then started coming again the past few months. They only have one size of pho, but for $6.95, it is huge!! Broth is consistently good, very flavorful and not too sweet. I tried their papaya salad for the first time the other day and it was soooo yummy! If you're ordering for the kids, it does have a bit of spice to it. Fresh delicious green papaya smothered in a flavorful fish sauce topped with "beef jerky", which was more of a very flavorful chunks of beef. I am drooling thinking of it.... We also had their raw beef salad the other day. Thin slices of been served with a nice mix of greens and a sweet & spicy dressing with a side of limes. My son & I devoured both of these within 10 minutes! When we went up to pay, the guy said done already?! That's how good it was!! The guy that works there is friendly, and checks on us often! We've had all kinds of dishes here, the rice plates, bun bowls, trays, and we've never had anything we don't like! They also make spring rolls here with actual chunks of grilled chicken (I think they have other meats too), that my kids love! Family owned joint that's pretty cheap and good portion size. The owner is pretty cool and likes to joke around with you. The pho is pretty good, the rice dishes are made with broken rice which has a different texture and very yummy. They have two large screen TVs usually with some asian drama playing. The place isn't much to look at from the outside and they leave the doors open, so there are some flies in the restaurant. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue ($7.5). It was really good. The bowl is standard size, but they really packed in the noodles and meat. There wasn't much room for broth. The noodle and meat portions were good. AC introduced me to this place by Ranch 99 in Kent. I was a little bit weary about the place when I walked in but the owner welcomed us kind heartedly. Smiles a lot and if you're a regular there he pretty much knows your order and will say "double down po u!" For the size given I get a lot I end up giving away some of my meat to AC because I can't finish it. But the broth is good and tasty and always extra cilantro, basil, sprouts and the nok beo? Sorry for the spelling. Always adds flavor to the pho. Only thing is they are closed on Mondays, but any other days they are open. read more

Hands down the best all-around Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to!!! Usually, a Vietnamese restaurant has one or two dishes down solid while the rest of the menu is just passable. Restaurant 108 stands far above the rest!! Every single thing I've eaten here has been either great or phenomenal. The ph tái is awesome and always comes with fresh abundant veggies (including that sawtooth green ). The bánh xèo is massive, comes with a huge plate of greens and veggies and never disappoints. The bò kho is absolutely OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD!! My coworkers have ordered from all over the menu, including a sampler dish with rice, fish cake, pork sausage, something else. I don't remember the name, but I know that he still talks about the dish and that fish cake. My other coworker ordered a pork soup and loved it. The restaurant Aleta's has a clean, fresh, inviting atmosphere. Each dishes is treated as a separate element, so they are each served in a way to accent that unique dish. That shows me the level of dedication to the food and of skill. Just go here, you won't be disappointed. Prices are perfect. The owner/host/waiter is super nice. I really wish there were half star ratings because this place is really 3.5 stars. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it wasn't crappy either. The wifey and I were craving some delish Vietnamese food one fine Saturday afternoon. We were in the area (IKEA!) and decided to try this place. The interior is very simple and plain, which is fine with me. We ordered a Tai Gau large bowl of Pho and some pork vermicelli. The Pho broth was pretty good. It wasn't anything amazing, but it did need more anise. The pork vermacelli was really good. We did order a grilled pork Bahn Mi, which was not on the menu and it was 4 out of 5 stars. The bread was fresh and the pork was flavorful. Overall this place was OK. Nothing remarkable, but at least it wasn't a dump. I might be back if I'm in the area, but I won't crave this place. read more

Came here while up in the area after craving Vietnamese food. We chose our table right away and looked over the menu. The first thing I noticed is this place is a few dollars more expensive than most other Vietnamese places. However, the food looked good so we decided to give it a shot. I ended up ordering the bbq pork bun and my wife ordered their pho with rare steak and brisket (our favorite). I also ordered a banh mi to split with my wife as I wanted to try it. The banh mi came out first. It was a little different that the traditional banh mi as it didn't have sweet mayo on it, but some sort of brown salty sweet sauce. Although it was a little weird, I actually really liked it. The ingredients tasted fresh and the bread was good. When our main course was served, we quickly diverted our attention from the banh mi to our food. The bbq pork bun was good, but it was sort of plain tasting. The meat was good, but there was hardly any of it in the bowl. In fact, there wasn't a lot of any the ingredients with the exception of the peanuts. My wife's pho was okay, although we both agreed it was very bland. The meat in it was good, but without flavorful broth it also was very bland. The woman at the counter was very friendly! However, it didn't make up for the lackluster food. All in all, this place is just okay. And with all the options of Vietnamese food in and around the Seattle area, we probably won't be coming back any time soon. read more

Not my fave. The spring rolls were weird. Cooked and warm with weird dipping sauce. I had the shrimp stir fry lunch special and it was swimming in gravy. I'm no Vietnamese food connoisseur - but it just wasn't to my liking. The gentleman who waited on us was friendly enough but my water glass sat empty and we were the only ones in the restaurant during lunch hour. (Another clue perhaps). I only give them two stars because food is pretty bad here. Very disappointing. If you are like me, from Southern California love authentic Vietnamese food, then this place is NOT for you! I ordered shrimp spring rolls and Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (Bun Bo Hue) and I was so disappointed. The rice paper wrap was hard and dry, they put too much rice noodles in the rolls and they are sticky and hard to chew. The soup doesn't taste regular Bun Bo Hue at all. Came here based on highly recommend reviews. I don't recommend this place. First, the food is medicore. The canh chua Tom is salty and dense. The fried fish, is not great either. When we asked for the check, the prices did not match with what I saw on the menu. When we went to dispute it, the guy said, " the prices on the menu is old, we are getting new menus soon". WTF? So there was no sign that the prices on the menu is different. We got robbed a few dollars. Overall, don't come here. There are other good places to go. read more

Omg! So my coworker brings me here to try these AMAZING beef spring rolls!! I am in love with this place and will definitely be going back. The ambience was quiet in this quaint little resteraunt. Entering this restaurant I saw two plasma screen tv on either side and was greeted by an older gentleman who has an amazing personality. I've been to many Vietnamese restaurants and I myself is a Vietnamese decent. This Vietnamese restaurant has a lot of authentic and wonderful food. The Com Tam Dac Biet, which is the special broken rice, was fabulous. It came with the well seasoned pork chop, egg cake(meat patty), LOBSTER size shrimp, and also accompanied with well flavored broth. P.S. the fish sauce was well made also. The Pho was great. The broth had a lot of flavor and an authentic taste to it. It shows little signs of msg or if any. It's packed with a lot of meat and just the right amount of noodles . The service is awesome. The guy has a fun personality. He cracks jokes all the time. His wife, the chef is also really nice! I ordered their banh mi the other day and she hooked me up with a lot of extra meat and egg. He usually gives us watermelon as dessert and also if anyone ordered a mango shake he would give the other guys free mango shake also. To top off the meal with a wonderful drink, I'd recommend their mango shake. The mango is from Vietnam and is naturally sweet and made fabulous! Recently found this 108 restaurant next to Ranch 99 in Kent location, right behind the Cathy Bank. It is a family owned Vietnamese restaurant. I can tell it has repainted wall, there is a couple serving customers. They seem new, but very friendly services. Food are better than many many Viet restaurants I had tried. This is my 4th time to 108 restaurant, I love the noodle soup with crab meat, egg and tomato. My Vietnamese friend's favorites is the rice dish with grilled porkchop and BIG prawn (the one with big head), that really impress us when he order it. He tell me there is not many restaurant carry this quality prawn. I tried it, It is really delicious. They have a huge menu with many choices. I usually here in lunch time, my favorites of this place in my recent visits they have very fresh ingredients every time. I would love to highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. read more

I grabbed takeout of two vegetarian phos. It was ready in about 10 minutes and the broth and veggies were delicious! I was bummed because they forgot noodles in one of them, didn't give me extra jalapeños like I had asked for or any hot sauce on the side like I would've expected based on my previous pho takeout experiences at multiple restaurants. I didn't realize this until I got home and didn't want to drive the hour round trip to go back and ask for those things. The price was really inexpensive - about $14 for both. I love this place for lunch! Owners are very sweet. The seafood gumbo is delish, which is my favorite! They have real pork pieces and seafood. Well, so is the rice chicken dish with jumbo prawns. My new favorite Pho spot. Gentleman who served us was friendly and attentive. I ordered a hand made lemonade that was totally awesome. Best Pho I have had in the Renton/Kent area. It was also very economically priced. We had two bowls of Pho, a lemonade and some fried rice. Our bill was only $26 bucks. I would say the serving sizes of the Pho might be a tad smaller than some other places but it was a perfect amount for me to actually finish and not leave leftovers. I highly recommend this place. The Vietnamese ladies at my nail shop recommended it to me, and they rock. It is really rare for me to eat at a vietnamese restaurant and think "wow that was some really good vietnamese food." So this was definitely a game changer. I was beyond impressed with not only the food but the service. We seated ourselves and immediately a woman brought us menus and iced teas. I ordered the Banh Xeo plate with pork and shrimp and let me just say it was the best banh xeo I've had in my life. It was huge! They served it on a tray with all sorts of herbs and veggies. It was perfectly crisp! Even the fish sauce was up to par! I also ordered some spring rolls that had marinated pork and shrimp in it. The spring rolls were delicious. It wasn't over stuffed with bean sprouts which a lot of vietnamese places do to save cost on ingredients. So that made me pretty happy. After we finished our meals, they brought over complimentary freshly cut watermelon which was perfect for the hot day. Overall the food was amazing and very affordable. I will definitely be back!! "Uncle" always treats us great at 108. It's always empty since it's tucked away but I'm happy with the food. I'll order pho, or spring rolls w/grilled pork. Worst fresh spring rolls I've ever had - I'm used to the "fresh" in fresh spring rolls to actually mean something, but the tofu and chicken were overcooked (fried) and disgusting. Too many noodles, barely any lettuce - and the dipping sauce was an overly sweet salad dressing - not a dipping sauce usually served with a dish like this. This place is crackin! Since I first got introduced, I came back the very next day...and the day after. I live all the way up in Mill Creek and find myself craving the rice dishes there. I haven't had the pho but I always order a side of the broth when I get my rice dish. The broth is pretty good and well balanced with great aroma. They are pretty well known for their Prawns I guess...and that's what keeps me going back. The waiter is really friendly and remembers us every time we eat there.
