my sister and i went here after seeing it on yelp and we will be coming back again because their cream cheese rolls are so good, it's not too sweet which i like. there's plenty of parking in the plaza it's in and it's surrounded by a lot of places. the wait was a little long because the lady in front of me was extremely needy. i could tell the employee was getting irritated by her body language and facial expressions. i was getting irritated just watching them. the store is very bright and nice. the employees are very nice and helpful too. 10/10 definitely recommend read more

I stopped by 111 bakery around 1pm on a Friday. I was surprised how crowded it was! I ordered a bbq pork bun, a hot dog bun, a slice of mango cake, and a mini bahn mi. The prices were unbelievably good. For $16 I got 2 meals for myself and a snack for my partner. That's a pretty much unbeatable value. I received the pastries right away, but I had to wait quite a while for the bahn mi due to how busy they were. Everything was tasty except for the cake. It was objectively bad. Super dry, and the mango layer was sour, nothing like other mango cakes and desserts I've had before. I'm afraid to ever try their cakes again after that disappointment. I'd come back for the pork bun and maybe try some of their other buns next time. I'd order a bahn mi again if I happened to come at a time when no one else is waiting for sandwiches. And I'd ask for double veggies. The veggies were a bit skimpy but the sandwich was literally $3 and was about 2/3 the size of the $10 bahn mi I get from my usual spot, so it's an incredible value if you have the patience to wait for it or you come at an off time. read more

After years, I've gone back recently to try their pate chaud which I was looking forward to but I found it to be too oily. We got rerouted here after attempting to go to Duc Huong in Little Saigon. What a nightmare. The traffic, the crowds...I was having anxiety just trying to get into the area. Of course I left after I saw the ridiculous line. Anyway, I saw another Duc Huong next to the Bakery with a smaller line, but I couldn't wait. The space is very tight so you line up and then order at right hand side and then wait for sandwiches. I decided to order a pork bun and chicken empanada looking thing. I ordered 4 sandwiches not knowing how big they would be. They even ask if we want it cut. That's the best. For sandwiches: I ordered the combination, pork belly, grilled pork and meatball sandwiches. The bread as a little on the harder side and they could use a little more mayonnaise, but all in all, they ate very generous with their inserts and everything tasted good. The pork bun was delicious but the empanada thing was just meh. Price point was decent. -- glad they aren't trying to price gouge. The service was also good, nice people and fast service. My personal favorites are the pate buns, the crab buns, and the cassava cake slices! Newly remodel after 30+ years. Came in and I didn't even recognized this place. They got a new outer shell but they're still producing the same quality baked goods and sandwiches. My favorite treat is the mini pizzas and the stuff pork floss bread. The prices haven't changed after the remodel, the service is still good and fast now with Apple Pay. Came here around 1 on sunday. There was some people inside but line moved quickly and most were jus waiting for their food. They have like a wide variety of baked goods and then they have bahn mi and boba. We got the bbq pork bahn mi and tried the coconut pineapple bao and guava twist. Both were pretty good, for the bao the filling to bread ratio was realllly good, however our first one had a hair in it... but they gave us another one. Guava twist was good too, wouldve been better if it was crispy tho but still good. We had to wait abt like ten minutes for the bahn mi. It was hot like fresh hot and it was good. ALOT of meat maybe too much, i prob wouldve like more veggies like the pickled carrot and stuff but it was good. Their bread was fresh and wasnt too much or too hard. I would recommend this bakery any day. I prefer their banh mi sandwiches here than next door at Duc Huong. It's a bang for your buck, and it's packed with flavor and fillings. I also like some of their other pastries: pineapple bun, bacon egg cheese croissant w/ everything seasoning, the hot dog buns, and crab bun. Yeaaaup. I love this place. My coworker (a super nice Asian auntie) always brings me food from here on the weekdays. As a result of my diet, I've been starving for the first part of my shift, but she always comes through to give me a pastry for me to eat so I can hit up the gym right after work. My favorite is the ham egg and cheese. It's like they shoved a tamagoyaki RIGHT in there! So good. I like to eat it with carbonara buldak sauce. The first time I came in here, it was empty, literally. The staff were there, the food was mostly not. I came at like 3, so it turns out that the food was mostly sold out already. I did manage to snag a few pastries that I liked, like the Banh Bao Nuong. I was told to try their banh mi next time I go. Apparently in the morning, it's bustling and loud with people trying to snag their early morning meals. I definitely gotta try to participate in the bread snatching sometime, haha. Cheap banh mi and a variety of buns to choose from! Just to name a few, I like their pate chaud, bbq pork buns, pizza buns, and hot dog buns. Sometimes their sweeter buns can be hit or miss, like with their panda, ube, and guava custard buns. Those were meh, I would not get them again. It can get really busy in the mornings so try to time your trip carefully! They also can sell out of things pretty quick. It's close to my workplace, so it's always a go-to for potlucks! read more

But unfortunately, I ordered a Banh Mi and found a fly in the middle of my sandwich. I'm so happy I was looking where I was biting. I was about 1/3 of the way into my sandwich when I saw it. It looked old and crusty, not like it freshly flew into my sandwich but more like it had been in their meet mixture for a bit. Located in a shady ass parking lot so customers beware lol lock your car! I didn't know this place was located right next to the other banh mi place I like to frequent to on Story Rd. I much prefer going there for my banh mi @ Duc Huong. We got the combination banh mi for $6 and the grilled pork banh mi for $5. Combo banh mi had some odd stuff inside like shredded pork? Not used to that. They are also kinda cheap on the patê spread. The grilled pork banh mi... the pork itself I was not used to the shape and texture. It just tasted ...unusual. I give it a 3/5 because the lady was friendly and the bread was good. The bread didn't cut the roof of my mouth like Lee's sandwiches or other banh mi places lol. You get what you pay for here. Not sure if it was due to items being sold out or the bakery having a limited menu due to COVID. They had some buns and cake slices in the pastry case, and pâté chaud (pork puff pastry) in the warmers. I believe it's CASH ONLY but their Yelp business info states, they accept CC's with a $5 minimum purchase. Staff wore masks properly. My husband brought home some banh mi (Vietnamese Sandwiches) and banh bao (pork bun) today and my oh my they were delish! I've never seen a baked pork bun before so this was my first time. This oven baked bun tastes much better than the traditional steam pork buns. The dough was thin and crispy and the pork filling inside was evenly distributed and not clumped up in one spot. Every bite had meat. There's half of a boiled egg and small Chinese sausage in it. The Special Vietnamese sandwish was quite good. The foot long baguette was crispy and dough was thin. The sandwich was filled with the regular thit nguoi (combo of Vietnamese style ham) along with bi (shredded pork skin( and cha bong (dried shredded pork meat). So it definitely is a special. Not stingy on the ingredients at all. I was definitely full after a few bites of it as I also ate the pork bun. I definitely will have to go there myself next time to check out their savory and sweet pastries. The prices are lower than other stores that sells banh mi and steamed pork bun. My friend raves about their Vietnamese iced coffee so you know that's what we came here for. Vietnamese iced coffee - more bitter than I expected but we did come here 45 minutes before they were closing. Their Vietnamese coffee has subtle notes of hazelnut and vanilla. You order Banh Mi and pastries at the counter. All the Banh Mi are ~$7 and a half is $3.50! I got the grilled and bbq pork Banh Mi. Portions are huge and delicious. You can ask for the veggies on the side if you're not too sure which topping you like. For a small charge you also get extra veggies. I also go the cream bread which is covered in coconut flakes. It was good, a little disappointed because I though there would be more cream. Can recommend for a coconut lover. The red bean bread was a huge surprise! It was filled with red bean. When I first started coming to this place, they used to take orders behind their booth. However, now you need to order with the person behind the pastry counter. What I like the most about this place is that you can order mini-sized sandwiches for approximately $3, which is a great deal compared to most places. The only downside comes from the bakery side, which is that they don't warm up the pastries when you order them. So, you get them as they are. The ordering style is "order what you want and see yourself out" which isn't a bad thing; it is pretty straightforward. The bakery is clean and the staff is on top of their stuff. This place has been around FOREVER. My parents used to get my childhood birthday cakes here so this place is somewhat nostalgic for me. I've continued coming here into my adult years because they have THE BEST shredded pork buns IMO. I always had this as a kid so being able to enjoy them from the same bakery as an adult is amazing. The texture was perfect because it was moist and not overly hard/tough (not too much gelatin). I loved the presentation with blueberries, mango and strawberries on top. The special or "dac biet" has the typical variety of cold cuts and pate BUT this one also includes meat floss (shredded chicken) and a little bit of thin pork skin, as well as pickled veggies, jalapeño, cucumber, and cilantro. I didn't like the bread since it wasn't light and fresh, but it might be due to the time of day (late afternoon). For $5 this is a steal and should keep you satiated!
